I Can See Through Everything-Chapter 523

Chapter 523
"Someone wants to see me?"
Lu Qing was momentarily startled, then quickly realized what was going on.
Could it be that someone from the Treasure Pavilion had finally come?
"Just a moment, I’ll be right there."
He returned to his room, brought along Xiaoli and Wuxing, and headed toward the front hall of the inn.
Upon arrival, he saw several people already seated and waiting.
One of them was the bewitching woman in the purple short robe whom he had met before—the envoy from the Treasure Pavilion.
Lu Qing instantly understood. It seemed the Treasure Pavilion had finally responded.
The only question was whether they came in goodwill or ill intent.
Lu Qing remained cautious.
While he was indeed interested in working with the Treasure Pavilion, that didn’t mean they felt the same. What if they had come to demand accountability?
So he maintained the necessary vigilance.
Quietly, Lu Qing activated his spiritual powers and looked over at the group.
"Sir!"
The bewitching woman stood up the moment she saw Lu Qing, her expression slightly excited.
"Ziyuan, is this the Golden Core True Being who sold you the Thunderclap Talisman?" asked Master Wang upon seeing her reaction. He immediately stood up as well.
"So it’s an esteemed guest of the Treasure Pavilion. May I ask what business brings you to me? Is there some issue with the Thunderclap Talisman I sold you?" Lu Qing asked directly.
His gaze fell on Master Wang, and in his vision, several strips of information appeared.
"A Treasure Pavilion appraisal master. Only a few people came, and the highest cultivation among them is only in the Golden Core Realm.
Which likely means they’ve come with peaceful intentions."
Lu Qing’s thoughts turned as his heart relaxed a little.
Though he still didn’t know the Treasure Pavilion’s true purpose, at the very least, they probably weren’t here to pick a fight.
"Please don’t misunderstand, Fellow Daoist. The Thunderclap Talisman has no issues whatsoever—it’s a genuine Golden Core-level talisman."
Master Wang quickly clarified. "We’ve come here for a different reason."
"Oh? May I ask how I may be of assistance?" Lu Qing inquired.
"We wish to learn more about the origin of the one who crafted the Thunderclap Talisman.
And if you happen to know where he is currently, we would like to pay him a visit on an important matter.
Of course, we wouldn’t ask you to do this for nothing.
This is a small token of our appreciation from the Treasure Pavilion. We hope you’ll accept it."
With that, Master Wang gestured, and a servant stepped forward, holding a brocade box one foot square, which he respectfully offered to Lu Qing.
"Sir?"
Lu Qing keenly noted the respectful tone and form of address used by Master Wang.
His expression shifted slightly, but he did not take the box.
Instead, he asked calmly, "May I know why you seek this senior who crafted the Thunderclap Talisman?
He has shown me great kindness, and I cannot casually reveal his whereabouts."
Master Wang hesitated, then chose to speak honestly.
After all, the man before him was a Golden Core Realm cultivator—such individuals were rarely fools, and lying might only cause complications.
"To be frank, our Pavilion Master has seen the Thunderclap Talisman that you sold.
He was astounded by the talisman’s craftsmanship and wishes to personally visit that senior to seek instruction on the art of talismans."
"To seek instruction in talisman-making?"
Lu Qing grew even more certain. Combined with the information he had just gleaned from these people, his confidence firmed.
After a moment’s thought, he suddenly waved his hand, casting a barrier that blocked all external surveillance.
"Sir, what are you doing?" the bewitching woman asked, startled.
The attendants behind her also tensed up, instantly growing alert.
Master Wang, however, remained calm. With a small wave of his hand, he signaled for the others to stay at ease.
"Apologies, everyone. Your high regard for the Thunderclap Talisman compelled me to act cautiously," Lu Qing said with a smile.
"Quite understandable. If I may ask, does this mean you’re willing to take us to meet the senior?" Master Wang asked.
"Not yet. I must first meet your Pavilion Master before I can decide whether or not to take you to him."
Lu Qing still did not admit to having crafted the Thunderclap Talisman himself. Instead, he set forth a condition.
Master Wang’s brows furrowed.
He realized that this young man had seen through their eagerness and wanted to meet with the Pavilion Master directly—likely to negotiate some benefits. Ȓ𝔞ŊÖ฿Ê𐌔
No wonder he hadn’t accepted the gift earlier. Clearly, he had greater ambitions.
Sensing Lu Qing’s greed, Master Wang felt a flicker of displeasure.
He wanted to refuse, but remembering the Pavilion Master’s instructions, he suppressed his irritation.
With a smile, he said, "Very well. Our Pavilion Master has always been eager to recruit talent. He will be delighted to meet someone as outstanding as yourself."
Though one couldn’t judge a cultivator’s age by appearance alone—
many old monsters who had lived thousands of years might choose to appear as youths or even children—
Master Wang could sense the vitality in Lu Qing’s soul aura.
This suggested that his cultivation time had not been long—certainly under two hundred years.
Among Golden Core cultivators, that counted as the younger generation.
Even if his Golden Core was merely of middle-grade quality, he would still be considered a true prodigy.
Such a promising young talent might even be someone the Pavilion Master wished to recruit.
Moreover, their intel from yesterday had revealed that this young Golden Core cultivator traveled with two Golden Core-level spirit beasts.
Clearly, he had a significant background and status.
And since they still didn’t know his true relationship with the master who crafted the Thunderclap Talisman—
for now, Master Wang had no desire to risk conflict.
Lu Qing then followed Master Wang and his group as they headed once more to the Treasure Pavilion.
Naturally, he had noticed the subtle change in Master Wang’s demeanor after he requested to meet the Pavilion Master.
But there was nothing he could do.
There had been too many people in the inn’s main hall, making it an inconvenient place for sensitive discussions.
He had no intention of letting his secrets be overheard.
"Fellow Daoist Lu, please, our Pavilion Master is waiting inside."
At the entrance to the Treasure Pavilion, Master Wang gestured politely.
He had already learned Lu Qing’s name during their walk over.
"Thank you."
Lu Qing stepped into the Treasure Pavilion, where the Pavilion Master, having already been informed in advance, was waiting with Master Qiu and the others in the first-floor hall.
However, a look of clear impatience was written on Master Qiu’s face.
“A mere mid-grade Golden Core cultivator at the third transformation, and we’re expected to come out to receive him? Utter nonsense!”
Still, seeing the Pavilion Master standing ahead, Master Qiu dared not voice these thoughts aloud.
Just as he was inwardly fuming, the light from outside dimmed. A young man in a gray robe, with a calm and indifferent aura, stepped inside.
“This must be Fellow Daoist Lu Qing. Truly, a remarkable young talent.”
The Pavilion Master of the Treasure Pavilion greeted him immediately, her face adorned with a gentle smile.
“I wouldn’t dare. Lu Qing greets the Pavilion Master.”
To his surprise, the Pavilion Master of the Treasure Pavilion was a beautiful woman.
Even more astonishing to him was that, by his sensing, her cultivation was only at the sixth transformation of the mid-grade Golden Core Realm.
This left Lu Qing quite taken aback.
After all, the Treasure Pavilion was a major commercial force in Canglan City, brimming with immense wealth.
For such an enterprise to be led by someone not even in the late stage of the Golden Core Realm—let alone a woman—was completely unexpected.
It seemed the rumors were true: that someone powerful from the Tianyuan Great World stood behind the Treasure Pavilion.
Otherwise, how could a mere sixth transformation Golden Core cultivator possibly control such vast resources?
“Fellow Daoist Lu,” the Pavilion Master said warmly, “I hold the senior who crafted the Thunderclap Talisman in great esteem. Might you be willing to introduce us?
As for compensation, you need not worry. You will not be treated unfairly.”
After some polite exchanges, she got straight to the point.
Lu Qing glanced around and asked, “Pavilion Master, is this a place where we can speak freely?”
She paused, then recalled what Master Wang had told her in his earlier transmission.
With a faint smile, she replied, “Rest assured, all present here are of the Treasure Pavilion. There will be no leaks.”
Sensing the latent power of the massive formation within the Pavilion, Lu Qing understood.
So he decided not to beat around the bush any longer and said directly, “Pavilion Master, there is something I must confess. I’ve somewhat misled you—please don’t take offense.”
Everyone looked slightly surprised.
Only the Pavilion Master remained calm. “Oh? What do you mean by that?”
“I previously said that after meeting you, I would take you to the senior who crafted the Thunderclap Talisman. In truth, there is no such senior.”
That statement caused a visible shift in everyone’s expression—even the Pavilion Master’s eyes sharpened.
Master Qiu couldn’t hold back and shouted, “You don’t know the talisman’s creator? Boy, how dare you toy with us!”
“Silence.”
The Pavilion Master raised her hand, cutting him off.
She looked at Lu Qing, her expression once again composed. “Fellow Daoist Lu, your words seem to carry deeper meaning. If there is no such senior, then where did the Thunderclap Talisman come from?”
“I crafted it myself,” Lu Qing said calmly.
“What?!”
Now everyone was truly stunned.
Even the Pavilion Master's red lips parted slightly in astonishment.
“Fellow Daoist Lu, are you saying that you personally crafted the Thunderclap Talisman?”
“Yes. I refined it myself and brought it to your Treasure Pavilion for sale, in exchange for some spirit stones. I had no idea it would cause such a misunderstanding.”
“Absurd!”
Before the Pavilion Master could say anything more, Master Qiu exploded with outrage again.
“You, a mere third transformation Golden Core cultivator, claiming to have crafted a talisman as intricate and profound as the Thunderclap Talisman?
Boy, if you’re going to lie, at least make it believable.
Do you take us for fools with no knowledge of talisman craft?”
“Indeed!” added Master Zhao. “If you claim to have crafted the Thunderclap Talisman, do you have any proof?”
The Pavilion Master, recovering from her shock, offered a wry smile.
“Fellow Daoist Lu, it’s not that I don’t believe you—it’s just... that’s a bit hard to believe.
The Thunderclap Talisman is a masterpiece—something only a true talisman grandmaster could create. It’s difficult to imagine it came from your hand.”
“A masterpiece? A grandmaster’s work?”
This time, it was Lu Qing’s turn to be stunned.
He hadn’t expected such praise for the Thunderclap Talisman.
After all, it had been something he’d crafted casually, with little time or effort.
But his moment of surprise only made Master Qiu all the more certain that Lu Qing was a fraud.
He sneered. “See? I told you it was impossible. If he really created the talisman, why can’t he show any proof?
This kid clearly came to the Treasure Pavilion to scam us.
No—on his own, he wouldn’t have the guts. He must be someone’s pawn, working from within and without to deceive the Pavilion Master!”
“Qiu Rong! What did you say? Are you implying I conspired with Fellow Daoist Lu to deceive the Pavilion Master?”
Master Wang could no longer restrain himself and roared with fury.
“I said no such thing,” Master Qiu sneered. “But it was you who brought the Thunderclap Talisman to us, and you who lavished it with praise, calling it a grandmaster’s work.
Now it seems this talisman may have a very questionable origin.”
“Utter nonsense! Why would I concoct a lie that’s so easy to expose?” Master Wang fumed.
“That I don’t know. Maybe it’s because you’ve grown senile in your old age.”
“You—!”
Master Wang turned red with rage, fury boiling over at the insult.
To be accused so brazenly, and even called senile to his face—no amount of self-control could hold his anger in check.
“Enough! Silence!”
The Pavilion Master’s eyes flashed coldly as a chill emanated from her body.
Both Master Qiu and Master Wang shivered and dared not speak again.
Meanwhile, Lu Qing was piecing things together.
It seemed that his Thunderclap Talisman had caused quite a stir within the Treasure Pavilion.
Judging from everyone’s reactions, he had clearly underestimated its value.
He had assumed the Treasure Pavilion wanted to cooperate with him because of the talisman’s low production cost.
But now it seemed things weren’t quite what he’d imagined.
“Fellow Daoist Lu, as you can see, what you’ve said is difficult for others to accept.
Even our Treasure Pavilion’s appraisal masters are at odds over it.
Might you have some way to prove that the Thunderclap Talisman was indeed crafted by you?”
After reprimanding the two masters, the Pavilion Master turned back to Lu Qing, her voice once again gentle.
Lu Qing couldn’t help but admire her composure.
Even in such a situation, she remained courteous and poised.
“Of course,” Lu Qing nodded slightly. “If you want proof that I crafted the Thunderclap Talisman, it’s simple—I’ll make one right here, before your eyes.”
With that, a crystalline spirit jade appeared in his hand.
