I Collect Skill Fragments in the Demon World-Chapter 416 224: Innate Yin Yang (Part 2)

Chapter 416

The vampire bat that Zhang Chen transformed into swiftly flew across the mountains. From his high vantage point, he could clearly see that the entire mountain range had been surrounded by the massive army of Prince Pingbian's Mansion, with a force of over a hundred thousand troops encircling the mountains tightly.
"I still need to inform Xie Lingyun about the coffin matter, but there's no rush for now. The entire mountain has collapsed, and it might take at least a year to clear it out. Finding Chen Xu and opening that chest is the most crucial matter for me." The vampire bat form of Zhang Chen shuttled among the mountains and suddenly caught sight of Chen Xu thanks to its extraordinary vision.
At this moment, Chen Xu had entered the military encampment of Prince Pingbian's forces, standing in front of the tent, observing the heavens and the earth, seemingly studying the fate within the heavens and earth.
Upon spotting Chen Xu, Zhang Chen transformed into his human form and landed on the ground, then used an invisibility talisman to move towards Prince Pingbian's main camp.
He deduced that the experts of Prince Pingbian's Mansion had all gone in search of treasures, leaving the camp without any masters to guard it.
Even if there were martial experts with ignited Qi Blood, Zhang Chen had nothing to fear, for he cultivated Magical Power without the flaws associated with a Yin Spirit.
As expected, Zhang Chen walked boldly into the camp, and the guards stationed there showed no response to him. Zhang Chen went straight behind Chen Xu, glanced at him, noticed the tent flap was lifted, and slipped inside.
Chen Xu's tent was lavish, filled with various fruits and chilled refreshments.
Zhang Chen made himself comfortable, undid the invisibility talisman, and started eating grapes from the table.
After observing the aura from the outside world, Chen Xu entered the tent and was immediately stunned, staring blankly at Zhang Chen sitting inside, eating grapes.
Upon seeing Zhang Chen, Chen Xu's initial thought was to retreat and alert the guards, but he quickly dismissed the idea.
Even someone like Zhong Xiang suffered greatly at Zhang Chen's hands; he doubted the ordinary soldiers outside could handle Zhang Chen. If his actions provoked Zhang Chen, it could lead to a major disaster.
"Better to placate him for now and wait for the experts from Prince Pingbian's Mansion to return," Chen Xu thought, and then casually lowered the tent flap, smiling at Zhang Chen who was spitting out grape seeds. "It's truly wonderful to see you again, my lord. When you went into the tomb with Zhong Xiang, I was so worried, afraid you suffered at Zhong Xiang's hands. I even personally ventured into the tomb, but found no trace of you. I thought you might have fallen victim to Zhong Xiang, but here we are, meeting again by some fortune."
"Heaven surely favors us to allow another meeting; it's truly thrilling," Chen Xu flattered Zhang Chen with exaggerated respect and endless compliments.
Hearing this, Zhang Chen popped a grape into his mouth, watching Chen Xu. If it weren't for seeing Chen Xu's behavior inside the tomb, he might have believed the other man's lies.
"Don't panic. I'm here today for a favor. Do it for me, and I won't trouble you. We have no deep grudges between us, and I wish to avoid becoming enemies, so you know what to do, right?" Zhang Chen said.
"Please, command me, my lord. I have no reason to refuse," Chen Xu replied respectfully.
Hearing Chen Xu's words, Zhang Chen nodded with satisfaction, stood up, placed an invisibility talisman on Chen Xu, and said, "Make no noise, follow me."
"Just leave like this?" Chen Xu asked, bewildered, unaware that he was already invisible.
Zhang Chen activated his invisibility talisman and disappeared before Chen Xu, who was stunned by the sight. He suddenly remembered Zhang Chen's ability, the same trick he had used to escape Zhong Xiang's grasp. At that time, Chen Xu had been too panicked to understand it. Now, seeing Zhang Chen control invisibility, he recognized it as a truly incredible technique.
Then Zhang Chen lifted the tent flap and stepped out. Since he couldn't be seen, it was as if a breeze passed by, attracting no attention.
Zhang Chen and Chen Xu walked out of the camp together. Seeing no reaction from the soldiers, Chen Xu's heart sank as he mumbled to himself, "Such an ability is terrifying! If one wanted to assassinate someone, who could stand in their way?"
The two reached a mountain hollow, where Zhang Chen removed the invisibility talismans from himself and Chen Xu, then pulled out the jade chest from his bosom. "Could I trouble you to use your two brushes to open this chest for me?"
Seeing the chest, Chen Xu's pupils contracted, yet he maintained his composure, took the chest, examined it, and tentatively asked, "Were you in the Divine Demon Tomb earlier, sir? I didn't sense your presence at all."
Zhang Chen smiled, "I was hiding among the crowd. Sir, your brushes opened my eyes."
Chen Xu gave a wry smile, growing more wary of Zhang Chen's abilities, considering that in such a large crowd, no one detected Zhang Chen's presence. It showed the brilliance of his skills.
As Zhang Chen watched Chen Xu examine the box, he asked, "Can you open it?"
"I can certainly try," Chen Xu replied.
Chen Xu suddenly looked up at Zhang Chen, "After I open the chest, you won't kill me to silence me, will you?"
"You're overthinking it," Zhang Chen said with a smile, "We might even have future collaborations."
Chen Xu, marginally reassured, thought of how Zhang Chen dared to poke Zhong Xiang's back with impunity. This boldness made him wary of what Zhang Chen might do, so he carefully placed the chest down and summoned his two brushes, brushing them over the box.
Zhang Chen took this opportunity to look closely at the two brushes. One was pure white, dazzling and glowing like a night stone, and the other was intensely black, seemingly absorbing all light like a black hole during the day.
"What strange treasures," Zhang Chen remarked, then summoned Fox Fairy Nannan. "Do you know anything about these two brushes?"
Zhang Chen refrained from summoning the Great Freedom Celestial Demon's avatar, preferring not to overly rely on it, as he found it unreliable compared to Fox Fairy Nannan.
At least Fox Fairy Nannan was linked to his life; their fates were intertwined, sharing triumphs and setbacks.
"Oh, you crawled out of that tomb? Did you find anything? Any treasures?" Fox Fairy Nannan inquired with a hint of curiosity.
Zhang Chen pointed at the chest, and Fox Fairy Nannan approached in curiosity, her big eyes twinkling. "This chest is quite interesting."
She then gazed at the two brushes, showing incredulity, and turned to Zhang Chen. "These treasures are exceptional. Why don't we just kill him and take them for ourselves?"
"What makes you say that?" Zhang Chen asked, surprised.
"These two brushes seem to be formed from the legendary Yin Yang Qi, possessing mysterious and unpredictable power. We should seize them for ourselves, surely. If we master their Great Divine Techniques, even Ghost Gods would fear us. Leaving them with him wastes such treasures; he only uses them for the Yin Yang Qi's properties. The brushes are mere vessels, their essence is the Law Origin of Yin Yang Qi."
Fox Fairy Nannan looked at the Yin Yang Qi with mouth-watering desire.
Zhang Chen ignored Fox Fairy Nannan's unsound suggestion. If the brushes could be taken, Chen Xu would not have survived thus far.
"Yin Yang Qi, huh?" Zhang Chen looked at the two brushes, deep in thought. "Indeed, only Yin Yang Qi can have the power to break forbidden techniques. And these are not distillations of Acquired Yin Yang Qi but Supreme Treasures birthed by Innate Yin Yang Qi."
Zhang Chen felt a wave of desire, but quickly shook his head; he lacked the means to subdue Innate Yin Yang. Even if he killed Chen Xu, he could not retain those brushes.
"Truly envy-inducing!" Zhang Chen muttered to himself.
