Chapter 1932: Chapter 1934: Trap, Taken In
"It’s none of your damn business if I’m arrogant or not. Also, don’t slam the table in front of me, or you’ll regret it."
A fierce glint flashed in his eyes, and the young master was startled, feeling a cold sweat break out on his back. In that instant, he even experienced an extremely terrifying illusion, as if a monstrous beast with its mouth full of tusks was ready to crush his skull in an instant!
At this moment, two people showed different expressions. First was Zhu Geliang, whose eyebrows twitched before he lapsed into thought, saying nothing more; the other was Pang Tong, who looked at you thoughtfully, as if trying to find the shadow of somebody in you.
"Alright, I’ve seen what should be seen and what shouldn’t. Continue, I have other matters, so I’ll take my leave." You slowly stood up. At that moment, you abruptly stepped forward and whispered a few words in Pang Tong’s ear, then turned and walked away.
Pang Tong was initially taken aback by your words and soon fell into deep thought like Zhu Geliang.
What exactly did you say to Pang Tong?
As you left the hall, Wang Can hastily caught up: "Brother Yan Yi!"
You deliberately slowed your pace, saw that only Wang Can was present, and said softly, "Cai Yan is currently in the small courtyard; you’d better get her out as soon as possible."
Having been out and about for some time, since you are the Master of Xuzhou, with clues about Emperor Yu in hand, you were prepared to depart immediately. As for Wang Can, though he verbally pledged to follow you, you understood well that he couldn’t bring his newlywed wife and family to Xuzhou, so you hadn’t truly counted Wang Can in.
Upon hearing that Cai Yan was in the small courtyard, Wang Can whispered to you, "There are too many idlers around at this time, making it inconvenient to act. I’m afraid Cai Family will have to trouble the Lord for a while longer."
"I don’t have that much free time. Do you really think I’m in Jingzhou for leisure, flirting and having fun?"
Wang Can was taken aback, just about to speak when you interrupted him: "Figure it out yourself."
With that said, you quickly left Wang Can’s residence.
When Wang Can chased to the door, he discovered you had already disappeared. When asked, the guards answered consistently; it seemed you had vanished in an instant as if by magic.
Returning to the hall, Wang Can found Zhu Geliang had also left, prompting him to ask Cai Mao: "De Gui, where is Kongming?"
"It seemed like something important came up, so he left in a hurry."
Wang Can was puzzled: "I just came out from the main entrance; how come I didn’t see him?"
Wen Pin, the top general under Liu Biao’s command, was stationed at Jingzhou City and couldn’t leave without Liu Biao’s order. On one hand, this was because Liu Biao relied heavily on Wen Pin, and on the other, it showed Liu Biao’s distrust of Wen Pin.
As such, Wen Pin was almost always in the military camp. To see Wen Pin, you would have to enter the camp.
With your skills, entering the camp wasn’t a problem, but when you reached the commander’s tent, you found it empty.
Frowning, you suddenly heard hearty laughter. Upon stepping out of the tent, you realized you were surrounded by soldiers.
Seeing the soldiers closing in from all directions did not instill fear in you. You’ve always wondered when exactly you were exposed.
"Thief Li, are you confused?"
At this juncture, a man’s voice emerged from the crowd. You perked up your ears; the voice was familiar, having heard it recently.
As you raised your head, you saw two men standing on a high platform, heavily guarded. You quickly spotted Zhu Geliang among them.
"So it’s you."
Seeing you trapped, Zhu Geliang felt extremely pleased. Lightly waving the feather fan in his hand, he laughed serenely, "The world claims that Li Muyun of Xuzhou is a ferocious beast, but now you’re just a pitiful creature surrounded by heavy troops!"
"Hey, you with the fan, I don’t seem to bear a grudge against you, so why set me up?"
Upon hearing your question, Zhu Geliang widened his eyes, angrily shouting, "Li Muyun! You are a traitor, and I vow to stand against you!"
"Damn, slapping Cao Cao’s hat on my head, such a high-level logical fallacy you have there." Your eyes darted around before you smiled, "If I’m not mistaken, Liu Bei must have already visited you several times at the thatched cottage. What a lovely story, indeed." He chuckled.
Zhu Geliang was momentarily stunned; he hadn’t expected you to know such a confidential thing.
Your next words made Zhu Geliang increasingly alarmed: "Lung Zhong’s plan, is it? First, secure a base in Jingzhou, then capture Yi State as a firm footing, and divide the world into three parts, huh, huh-huh."
"How... How did you know?" Zhu Geliang’s face changed dramatically.
You picked at your nose, smiling, "What if I told you those in your house are my spies, care to believe it?"
"Kongming, why bother talking to this rascal? What are you waiting for, advance and cut this traitor into pieces!" The burly man standing next to Zhu Geliang barked. His stern face, at that moment, radiated an intense killing aura.
You fixed your gaze on the man, asking, "Are you Wen Pin?"
"Indeed, it is I! Li Muyun, prepare to lose your head!"
"Ha, ha-ha-ha!" Suddenly, you threw your head back and laughed loudly, the massive sound wave momentarily preventing those soldiers from approaching. Many clutched their ears, faces contorted with pain.
At this moment, with all eyes on you, you slowly walked to a towering flagpole next to the military tent, your right hand resting on the wooden pillar. You spoke to Zhu Geliang and Wen Pin, "Do you know why the world calls me a ferocious beast? Not knowing, today I’ll let you taste it!"
With a roar, you fiercely grasped the wooden pole, lifted it into the air, and slammed it down on the soldiers in front!
"Run!"
The soldiers facing you had no spirit to fight. Those who hesitated were crushed instantly into mutilation!
"Scared? This is just the beginning." Saying that, you licked the upper row of your teeth, an evil smile playing on your lips.
"Shoot!"
Veteran Wen Pin, reacted at once, ordering the archers who were waiting to fire.
Watching as a rain of arrows filled the sky, you thrust the wooden pole forward, swinging it like the wind. The air-splitting sound was like the roar of an angry beast, the force of the pole even causing some soldiers to lose their footing.
"Zhu Geliang, don’t pretend in front of me; today I’ll see who meets their end first!" You roared, swinging the wooden pole horizontally, sending dozens of soldiers flying like leaves. Those struck directly spurted blood like pillars, staining the ground red in an instant!
Confronted with your onslaught, Wen Pin drew the waist knife at once, pulling Zhu Geliang behind him, shouting to his subordinates: "Protect Mr. Kongming, ensure his safe retreat!"
"Yes!"
Seeing Zhu Geliang being taken away by soldiers, your rage intensified. The wooden pole in your grasp started to crack under the strain. After sweeping away a heavy armor unit, the pole finally shattered! Its breakage quickly reduced your attack range, and you soon found yourself surrounded by heavy infantry with large shields.
