Chapter 1962: Chapter 1964: May I Ask, Will You Marry Me?
You looked straight at Himiko in your arms, and she dared not meet your gaze, remaining silent all along.
Unable to pry open Himiko’s mouth, you could only give up. It was impossible for you to force Himiko, as that was not your way. The only thing you could be sure of was that Himiko definitely liked you as well, but there seemed to be a barrier between you, a barrier that prevented Himiko from opening up to you.
You placed Himiko on the Taishi Chair specially made for her, smiled slightly, stood up, and prepared to go to the seaside to see Little Cherry.
"I am an ominous woman." As you turned your back, Himiko suddenly spoke these words.
With a raised eyebrow, you turned around, kneeling on one knee in front of Himiko, saying earnestly, "In my hometown, this is how a man proposes to a woman. Today, I, you, want to propose to you, Himiko. I want you to marry me and become my wife."
At this moment, Himiko had forgotten her shock and panic. She just stared blankly at you, the man who had captured her entire heart from the moment he appeared.
"I don’t care about your past, nor do I mind your status, and I definitely don’t care about whether you call it good or bad fortune. To me, you have only one identity, and that is my woman! If, as you say, misfortune will bring disaster or disease, even the Devil, I am willing to use the steel blade in my hand to carve out a bright world and build a complete, happy kingdom for you."
A clear tear slid down from Himiko’s eyes.
"May I ask, will you marry me?"
Before Himiko could answer, cries of alarm erupted from the bottom of the mountain, causing the entire small fishing village to become restless. Many people rushed out of their homes, running quickly towards the shore.
Suddenly standing up, you stepped forward, holding Himiko in your arms, and directly kissed her vibrant red lips. The kiss wasn’t deep, yet for Himiko, it felt as though an entire century had passed. In her muddled state, you had already picked her up and were rushing wildly down the mountain.
At this moment, there was no need for words of promise or oath between them. The weak Himiko was held in your arms, her ear pressed tightly against your chest, listening to your steady heartbeat. A slight blush quietly danced across her beautiful face. However, her once-happy and warm expression was quickly replaced by panic, as the shouts of the villagers during your run revealed the truth to her.
You couldn’t understand what the villagers were shouting, but from their expressions and gestures, it was not difficult to see that something terrifying had appeared by the shore, frightening them greatly.
Himiko hurriedly said to you, "The sea devil has appeared again, and fishermen are trapped on a boat!"
With a slight furrow of your brow, you quickly dashed to the shore. When you saw those so-called sea devils, your brow furrowed even deeper.
At this moment, in the sea about a hundred meters directly ahead of you, a fishing boat floated. On the boat was a lean middle-aged man, with four children beside him. At this point, three of the children, already frightened to tears, were clinging tightly to the man’s body, while another little girl held a small bamboo basket in terror—it was Little Cherry!
"Splash!"
Suddenly, a gigantic figure broke through the water’s surface, with a mouth full of tusks lunging from the left side of the boat to the right.
"Great White Shark! How could such a creature appear here!" Your eyes widened. You had seen Great White Sharks on TV and at the aquarium, but never one of such enormous size, and there were five of them!
Himiko clung tightly to your arm, naturally extremely worried about Little Cherry’s safety, but she dared not let you intervene, because she knew that even if you entered the water, facing these fearsome sea devils would still be a dead end.
However, at this moment, you suddenly shouted to the two women beside you, "You two, come here!"
Though the two women couldn’t understand your words, they understood your gestures. Despite you being an outsider, when you called to them, these humble women still obeyed and came over. You entrusted Himiko to them, directing them to support her, and you turned around, rushing towards the fishing boat.
"No!" Himiko cried out anxiously upon seeing this.
You abruptly stopped, turned back to Himiko, and smiled, "When I come back, call me husband, okay?"
With that, you turned and quickly waded into the sea. As the outsider who dared to face the fierce sea devils, the entire fishing village was stunned. Many of the village men shouted, likely urging you not to go down, warning of the danger.
Honestly, you were not entirely sure yourself. While you knew your own physical capabilities on land, even when facing an entire pack of wolves, you could take them all down. But for these terrifying Great White Sharks, the sea was their battlefield, and you had a fear of the ocean. Nevertheless, every time you saw Little Cherry on the boat, her eyes closed tight, clutching the bamboo basket with a few striped bass, that fear was replaced by a fierce fighting spirit.
Before diving into the sea, you took a deep breath, then let out a long howl towards the sky, its thunderous sound moving clouds, startling everyone behind you to cover their ears, shocked. This roar helped you cast aside the fear of the ocean, then you leapt high into the air, plunging into the sea from about ten meters up.
Your sudden appearance also attracted two Great White Sharks. Seeing the two sharks swimming towards the spot you entered the sea, the fishermen exclaimed in horror.
The dorsal fins of the two Great White Sharks submerged underwater, and soon bubbles appeared on the surface, the water in that area churning abnormally. Before long, a patch of blood-red water emerged on the surface.
The fishermen shouted anxiously once again, unexpectedly feeling concern for a stranger to them.
Himiko covered her mouth with her hand; she didn’t want to cry out, though worried for you, she held a firm belief in her heart that the blood wasn’t yours!
Sure enough, the corpse of a Great White Shark floated to the surface, its tail severed, separated from its body.
Shortly, another Great White Shark’s body appeared. The shark’s blood quickly spread with the seawater, the intense scent of blood attracting the remaining three Great White Sharks.
"Splash!"
You surfaced for air.
Seeing the three sharks charging towards you, you suddenly struck the corpse of the nearby white shark with your right hand, using the force to vault into the air. Sharp-eyed villagers noticed your right hand gripping a steel blade stained with shark blood. You leaped several meters high and then began to fall. Just as you were about two meters from the water’s surface, a Great White Shark lunged from the water, mouth agape!
A blinding beam of light pierced the villagers’ eyes from behind you, and as people instinctively squinted, you and the Great White Shark slid past each other. You plunged back into the water, and the Great White Shark, leaping into the air, was suddenly sliced into two, dead, splitting apart on the surface.
