I Inherited 5,000 Years of Family Property-Chapter 1393 1397: Add One More Die

Chapter 1393

The middle-aged man Zhang Menglong pointed to at the gambling table appeared somewhat wealthy, wearing clothes that looked very expensive. His face bore a constant confident smile, as if he sat there solely to win money.
The game here is a combination of luck and psychological strategy. On Earth, this game is called Blackjack, but here, it's about getting 27 points, which presumably holds some special significance in this world.
The rules of Blackjack are simple. Players start with three playing cards and can calculate the sum of the three cards. If one card is a face card, it's counted as 10. If the total of the three cards is less than 21, players can decide whether to draw another card, often resulting in getting closer to 21 or exactly 21.
Of course, there's also the risk of exceeding 21, in which case the hand is bust.
This 27-point game has a similar concept, but instead of playing cards, 12-sided dice are used. This makes the game more direct, but each face only has numbers from 1 to 10, with the remaining two faces being a Star and a Moon.
The Star can substitute any number, acting like a wild card, while the Moon represents the number 0. However, if both sides bust or have the same number, the player who rolls a Moon wins.
Overall, the difficulty is very low, combining about half luck and some psychological strategy.
At this gambling table, the minimum bet is 100,000 Time Coins, with a minimum of 10 rounds, and anyone out of money midway will be thrown out.
"Look, he's going to the Gambling King!"
"Is he crazy? Just won once and now he's cocky?"
"The Gambling King has a win rate of over 89% in this 27-point game. So far, no one has won money from him at this table!"
"That doesn't mean much. I don't trust win rates anymore. Just calculate, 2000 dice all landed on 6 earlier, is that scientific? I believe in the supernatural now."
"Hahaha, this game isn't all about luck. To simply rely on luck to beat the Gambling King, what kind of luck is that?"
"They say the casino has tried offering heavy sums to recruit the Gambling King, but failed each time."
"Brother, how much wealth does this Gambling King have?" Zhang Menglong whispered, sounding like a street punk.
"Who knows? But I heard recently the Gambling King spent 27 million Year Coins to buy an artifact even Gods can't use, just for display. His wealth must be hundreds or thousands of times that amount, right?" a gambler replied.
"Wow, what a big fish!" Zhang Menglong thought happily. Surely he has assets worth tens or hundreds of billions of Year Coins. No wonder his life aura seems infinite, and he now possesses at least Saint-level power. In this world, money indeed equals having everything.
"Hey kid, up for a couple of rounds?" The Gambling King looked at Aubi like prey, having noticed Aubi's recent win. Though it wasn't much compared to the Gambling King's net worth, winning 10,000 Year Coins in a day is rare in this casino. Even for him, winning that much in a day is challenging.
"Just a couple of rounds won't be enough." Aubi sat down. "I'm on a roll today, of course I want to play more."
"Hahaha, you seem unfamiliar, kid, but I saw your luck earlier. What should I call you?"
"You can call me the God of Gamblers!" Aubi struck an extremely arrogant pose.
The Gambling King's eye twitched. Goodness, he earned the title of Gambling King here and hadn't met an opponent yet, and now someone dares to call themselves the God of Gamblers in front of him. It mildly irritated him; even pretending should have limits.
"Hahahaha, the God of Gamblers? Is he crazy?"
"He just won 10,000 times, so what's wrong with bragging a bit? Hahahaha!"
"Does he even know who he's facing?"
The Gambling King was quite composed. "After all, young people, suddenly winning big, it's understandable to get carried away," he thought. "Since everyone calls me the Gambling King as a courtesy, a duel between the Gambling King and the God of Gamblers should be very interesting. How about we warm up first?"
"Let's start with 5,000 Year Coins!" Aubi wagered his entire fortune straight away. What does it matter who the Gambling King is? Could he resist Zhang Menglong's blessed mouth and ultimate bad luck?
"5,000 Year Coins?" The Gambling King was also stunned. The game here starts at 100,000 Time Coins, and 5,000 Year Coins amounts to 50 million Time Coins. He actually dares!
"Kid, you only have a bit over a hundred million Time Coins, right? This betting only suffices for two rounds, and the game starts with 10 rounds. Lose it all, and you'll be thrown out," the Gambling King reminded.
"Don't worry, I won't lose," Aubi said confidently.
"Well then, I won't hold back." A reckless young man, if the Gambling King didn't take this money, it would be wasting a gift from heaven.
Three dice spun in front of both, with neither able to see the other's numbers. An instrument also blocked all energy, including Soul Power and spiritual power, and so on.
Of course, as spectators, they had a different view, but their voices and other information couldn't reach the players in the game.
The dice stopped. In front of the Gambling King were the numbers 2, 10, and 9, totaling 21.
In front of Aubi, the numbers were 7, 9, and 10, totaling 26.
Without adding more dice, Aubi's total was closer, putting him in a winning position.
Aubi looked pleasantly surprised, and the Gambling King immediately caught his expression.
"Do the players wish to add dice?" the Artificial Intelligence asked.
"Add one!" the Gambling King declared, without hesitation.
His dice started rolling and settled on 5, making his total 26, leveling the scores!
The Gambling King's expression didn't change at all, giving no clue about his roll's outcome.
"That fatty's done for!" Zhang Menglong was the first to voice this in the viewing area.
"Yeah, by the rules, when totals are the same, the player with more dice wins, because the more you roll, the higher the risk of busting. The fatty loses if he doesn't roll, but if he continues, he has only a 1/4 chance to not bust with a roll of 1, a Star, or a Moon," others chimed in.
Everyone was pessimistic about Aubi's chances to win this round.
Yet in Aubi's mind, there was a firm belief that, no matter what, he would not lose!
"Add one!" Aubi raised a finger.
At 26 without knowing the opponent's dice, adding another was very risky. This boldness alone gained Aubi new respect from many around him.
The dice began to spin again, and everyone focused on it until it finally landed showing a "1" on top.
Aubi beamed even wider because he felt no need to hide his emotions. To others, it's a contest of luck and mental resilience, but for him, he's just a ruthless dice-rolling machine; rolling is what matters.
"How could this be?"
"What kind of luck is this?"
"Unless the Gambling King rolls another, this round is over."
"Do the players wish to add more dice?"
Everyone thought Aubi wouldn't add more dice, but once again, he spoke up.
"Add another one!"
