I Was Summoned as the Academy’s Janitor… But I Accidentally Became the Most Overpowered Harem Protagonist?!-Chapter 1: I Just Wanted to Mop the Floor, Not Be Mistaken for a God

‎The sky cracked open like a broken mirror.
‎A blinding light surged down from the heavens, and a crowd of robed mages at the center of a giant glowing magic circle cheered in unison.
‎ ‎ “The summoning is complete! Behold, the Hero of Prophecy!”

‎‎The light faded.
‎‎In its place stood… a tall young man in a hoodie, holding a plastic grocery bag with two cans of tuna and an on-sale matcha latte.
‎‎"...Huh?"
‎That was the sound of Zephyr Arclight, age 17 (mentally), who had just been Isekai’d against his will during his midnight snack run.
‎‎His hoodie read:

"World's #1 Disappointment."
‎‎The Archmage in charge squinted. “…Wait. Are you… not the Chosen Hero?”
‎‎Zephyr blinked.
‎“…I was just trying to buy discounted ice cream. Where the hell am I?”

‎‎A few hours later…
‎‎“Due to a technical mishap,” the Headmaster of Velmara Magic Academy said while flipping through ancient scrolls, “you were not the intended target of the Hero Summoning. However… you are now legally a citizen of our world, and thus must contribute.”
‎‎Zephyr stared blankly. “I didn’t even get an OP skill menu or a reincarnation bonus. What kind of off-brand fantasy world is this?”
‎‎“In accordance with Article 73 of the Summoning Clause,” the Headmaster continued, “you are hereby assigned to work as a… janitor.”
‎‎“…You’re kidding.”
‎‎“Room and board are included.”
‎‎“…Fine.”

‎Three days later…
‎‎Zephyr stood in the hallway of the most elite magic academy in the world — broom in one hand, bucket in the other, a half-hearted expression on his stupidly beautiful face.
‎Students walked past him, their reactions ranging from confusion to open blushing.

‎“W-Who’s that…?
‎“He looks like a fallen prince…”
‎“Wait. Is he glowing??”
‎“Is it just me or did the mop sparkle?”
‎‎Zephyr sighed, pushing up his sleeves. “These marble tiles aren’t gonna clean themselves.”

‎The mop dipped.
‎The floor gleamed.
‎At that exact moment, an explosion rocked the training arena outside.

‎Zephyr paused.
‎“…Nope. Not my problem.”
‎‎And yet — fate, as it tends to do in these things — had other plans.

‎End of Chapter 1.
