Chapter 508

Chapter 508: Chapter 508 Tianmo Palace_1
As it charged forward, the Nine-Horned Azure Ox opened its gaping maw, its eyes gleaming with a humanlike greed as it fixed its gaze directly on the Black Dragon Spirit carrying the Gilded Palanquin.
From the body of that black dragon, it sensed an intense fluctuation of Spiritual Energy. This was not the diluted bloodline of a lesser dragon or any other creature of the Demon Race. It was a Dragon Spirit transformed from a Dragon Vein!
This was a prime nourishment.
Having set its eyes on it, the Nine-Horned Azure Ox naturally could not let this opportunity slip away.
"How audacious!" Huang Fu bellowed as he thrust forward the banner in his hand emblazoned with the character "Xu," aiming to send the colossal Nine-Horned Azure Ox flying as if it were a mountain.
But the Nine-Horned Azure Ox’s pupils radiated disdain. It exhaled a puff of green mist, which forcibly dispersed Huang Fu’s attack.
"The pinnacle of the Divine Bridge Realm!" Huang Fu stated word by word, his face coloring slightly.
But it was not out of fear for his opponent’s realm, but... embarrassment! Back in his days as the standard-bearer of Qingfeng Camp, when he was at the peak of the Celestial Venerable Realm, he had even slain beings within the Immortal Venerable Realm. Now, having fallen to the early stages of the Venerable Realm, he couldn’t even suppress a beast used as a mount, truly a loss of face for the Heavenly Court, even though his previous strike had merely been a test.
"A Divine Bridge Realm creature serving as a mount? That truly is a grand display," Xu Lai’s gaze sharpened.
The cultivation path consisted of ten realms: Qi Condensation, Foundation Establishment, Core Formation, Nascent Soul, Divinity Transformation, Divine Bridge, Venerable, Celestial Venerable, Immortal Venerable, and Quasi-Emperor.
A cultivator at the pinnacle of the Divine Bridge Realm would be regarded as a formidable expert in any part of the Immortal Domain, be it east, south, west, or north. The Nine-Horned Azure Ox was also far from an unknown race. They were known for their powerful bodies and held considerable renown in the Eastern Immortal Domain. For one to now be willing to pull a carriage for someone else was truly unexpected.
"MOO!"
With a long bellow, the Nine-Horned Azure Ox’s massive eyes burned with intense savagery as it accelerated its charge. Dragon Veins were not uncommon in the Immortal Domain, but those that could transform into true Dragon Spirits were extremely rare. Consuming one could greatly enhance a person’s fortune. Having tasted such a delicacy before, the ox could no longer suppress the greed in its heart!
"Seeking death!" Huang Fu’s expression turned ugly. To charge at an imperial carriage was akin to courting death.
He held nothing back. Unleashing the vast, sea-like Spiritual Energy within his body, a Crimson Longspear materialized behind him. The moment the longspear appeared, the earth shattered, the heavens lost their color, and a fearsome aura of bloodshed filled the sky.
This was the Bloodshadow Spear, Huang Fu’s life-bound weapon, which he had wielded in battle for thousands of years and which had tasted the blood of hundreds of thousands of foes. Even though it had not been seen in a millennium, its murderous aura had not diminished in the slightest. In fact, it had intensified threefold!
As expected, the Nine-Horned Azure Ox ceased its barbaric charge capable of smashing mountains, its enormous azure face filled with fear.
It no longer dared to move.
Instinct told it that even the slightest movement might cause it to be devoured by that Crimson Longspear. Moreover, while staring at the spear, it could almost hear countless ghastly screams resounding in its ears.
What kind of magical treasure is this?
The Nine-Horned Azure Ox felt incredibly unsettled, but Huang Fu was already in motion. Under the control of his Divine Sense, the Bloodshadow Spear became a streak of light that tore through the air, silently piercing the void along its path. Forget a mere Divine Bridge Realm creature; even a cultivator at the peak of the Venerable Realm would meet their demise against this attack!
Terrified out of its wits, the Nine-Horned Azure Ox turned tail to flee.
But it was too late! The Bloodshadow Spear penetrated its body, rendering its defenses futile. Accompanied by a plaintive cry, blood streaked across the sky. As the Nine-Horned Azure Ox’s body burst open, the massive, luxurious palace it carried plunged rapidly downward.
With a thunderous boom, the palace smashed a hundred-foot-tall mountain into flat ground. The palace shimmered with bursts of glazed brilliance. It merely swayed gently and did not suffer any damage.
"What audacious scoundrel dares to attack the Tianmo Palace!"
A group of young people wearing long robes flew out of the palace. The man leading them held a beautiful female cultivator in his arms. He gazed indifferently at Huang Fu, who stood holding the banner, his breathing slightly labored. That last strike could have slain even a half-step Celestial Venerable, and it had drained nearly all of Huang Fu’s Spiritual Energy. Now, even standing was an effort for him.
"Truly seeking death. Not only did you crash into the palace of the Tianmo Palace’s Saint Heir, but you even dared to kill his mount. Do you not know what the word ’death’ means?!" one of the Tianmo Palace disciples shouted, a blood-wolf-fang emblem embroidered on his robes, his face a mask of disbelief.
Especially upon seeing the massive chunks of the Nine-Horned Azure Ox’s corpse on the ground, their eyes nearly bulged from their sockets. After all, in the Eastern Desolate Domain, very few would dare to provoke even an ordinary disciple of the Tianmo Palace, let alone the Saint Heir.
"Tianmo Palace?" Xu Lai’s brows furrowed.
The name was somewhat familiar, but he was unsure where he had heard it.
"The Tianmo Palace is the number one Sect Gate of the Eastern Desolate Domain," Huang Fu said in a deep voice.
Xu Lai nodded.
He remembered now.
Seven hundred years ago, when he traveled the Eastern Immortal Domain with Fairy Qing Yuan, he had heard her mention it in passing.
"You killed my mount. What was your reason?"
The Saint Heir of Tianmo Palace, Baili Chongtai, was clad in a white long robe and possessed a detached air. A golden halo shimmered behind him, making him look like an Immortal. Baili Chongtai frowned slightly, his fingers idly playing with the hair of the woman in his embrace. His voice was toneless, but his eyes were so cold it was as if he were looking at a dead man.
"Are you still feigning ignorance?" Huang Fu said coldly. "Your mount, the Nine-Horned Azure Ox, attempted to ram our carriage and eat my companion. Killing this evil beast was already an act of mercy."
All the Tianmo Palace disciples were stunned, looking at Huang Fu in disbelief before their faces twisted into peculiar expressions.
To speak such outrageous words in the face of the Saint Heir was simply courting death!
"Saint Heir, look at this. The country bumpkins nowadays are so unreasonable," the beautiful woman embraced by Baili Chongtai complained. "They clearly blocked Your palace and killed Your mount, yet they are still so self-righteous."
"It was just a Dragon Spirit from a mere Dragon Vein. The Nine-Horned Azure Ox has already eaten two or three of them on the way here. Which of the other Sect Gates would dare to make a peep?"
"You handle it." Baili Chongtai turned and returned to the palace.
He was the Saint Heir of the Tianmo Palace, a man of revered status. Dealing with such matters was truly beneath him. But that indifferent expression suggested that he was not at peace. After all, taming a Divine Bridge Realm Nine-Horned Azure Ox as a mount was an extremely challenging feat.
"Yes," the woman complied respectfully.
Once the Saint Heir had left, the woman’s submissive façade disappeared, replaced by impatience. She pointed at Huang Fu and Xu Lai, saying disdainfully, "Members of the Nine-Horned Azure Ox demon race are inherently arrogant. It was not easy to tame one as a mount, yet you killed it... So, tell me, how will you compensate?"
"Get lost." That was Huang Fu’s only response.
Although his realm had plummeted, he was no lamb to the slaughter. He could burn his already limited lifespan to briefly unleash his peak potential. Slaying everyone present would not be a problem!
"You’re telling me to get lost?" the woman asked blankly, pointing at her own nose.
Though she, Liu Xiang, was no Saint Heir or Saintess-level genius, she was still a core disciple. She had never been looked down upon like this.
"Nonsense. Of course I mean you. Are you deaf?" a languid voice drifted from the Gilded Palanquin. "And another thing. Go back and tell the master of that so-called palace to kneel at the foot of the mountain and repent for ten thousand years. If he does, this lady might deign to spare his life."
"How bold!" Liu Xiang rebuked angrily. "Who are you to speak so impudently to the Palace Master!"
"Listen well. I am Ruan Lan, the current Sect Hierarch of the Star Origin Sect!"
