Invincible Dad-Chapter 531 Making the Immortal Domain Go Crazy_1

Chapter 531: Chapter 531 Making the Immortal Domain Go Crazy_1
"When did you wake up?" Xu Lai asked.
"A little while ago."
Ruan Tang stretched lazily and said, "What were you just thinking about?"
Xu Lai first tossed the greens into the kitchen trash can before he grinned. "Come closer, and I’ll tell you."
Ruan Tang walked over to Xu Lai, not expecting him to suddenly wrap his arms around her waist as she felt his warm breath tickling her earlobe.
"I was thinking maybe it’s time we gave Yiyi a little brother or sister."
WHOOSH.
Ruan Tang’s face turned beet red. She said indignantly, "It’s still broad daylight!"
"Then I’ll make it night."
"..."
Ruan Tang pushed Xu Lai away and rolled her eyes. "You’re never serious. Where’s my breakfast? I need to eat and go to work."
"You’re not taking a couple of days off?" Xu Lai was slightly surprised.
Logically speaking, whether they were from the Human Race or the Demon Race, any being who witnessed the vastness of the Immortal Domain would feel as though their brain was about to burst from an overload of information. It was an explosion of the mind.
But Ruan Tang... It was as if nothing had happened. She was carrying on as usual.
"Why would I take time off?" Ruan Tang said helplessly. "When I got home, I found ninety-seven missed calls. The company contracts have piled up like a mountain in the few days I’ve been gone."
Xu Lai gave Ruan Tang a serious look and lightly flicked her nose. "You really are an interesting woman."
Ruan Tang, not at all flattered, swatted his hand away.
She glanced at the time, furrowing her pretty brows. "There’s no time. I’ll take my breakfast to the office."
Ruan Tang packed her food into a lunchbox, then opened the fridge and paused. "We’re out of milk."
Xu Lai slapped his forehead. "Ah, I forgot. I might as well go catch a couple of dairy cows to raise on the mountain. We could have fresh milk every day. What do you think?"
"Not a good idea," Ruan Tang said. "I’m driving myself to work."
Halfway to the door, she suddenly stopped and turned to Xu Lai with a smile. "I’m heading off to work now."
"Mhm, I know."
"..."
Without another word, Ruan Tang walked back, stood on her tiptoes to give him a quick kiss, then turned and left. The faint word "dummy" drifted back to his ears.
Xu Lai paused for a moment, then chuckled. "Get off work early! I’ll have a hot bath waiting for you tonight."
Ruan Tang’s face heated up.
She knew Xu Lai was thinking all sorts of inappropriate things again. Men really were all pigs.
「The sun was high in the sky.」
Her younger sister, Ruan Lan, and Yiyi had just woken up. Both felt a little disappointed to be back on Earth, especially Ruan Lan.
Still in her pajamas, she rolled around on the sofa. "Ahhh! I wanted to meet some handsome Sword Cultivators! My dream of becoming a Fairy!"
Yiyi propped up her small face and muttered, "No Fairy would wear underwear with Bulbasaur on it."
SWISH.
Ruan Lan scrambled to sit up straight, clutching the hem of her nightgown. Mortified, she tapped her niece on the head.
Then she glared and said, "Brother-in-law, you need to do something about Xu Yiyi!"
Xu Lai brought out their breakfast, teasing, "Ruan Lan, you really do have some odd preferences."
Ruan Lan ground her teeth in anger.
She wanted to bite Xu Lai but was afraid of chipping a tooth.
She could only sulk and say, "What’s wrong with liking cartoon characters? Everyone has different tastes. You can’t judge me based on yours."
"True," Xu Lai said earnestly. "I was wrong. I apologize."
Ruan Lan scratched her head.
Could her annoying brother-in-law actually be capable of speaking softly?
She crossed her arms and said warily, "Are you after my ’seeds’? You can’t have my Bulbasaur one, but you can give me your email address."
"???"
A row of question marks seemed to appear over Xu Lai’s head as he subconsciously glanced at his daughter.
Yiyi quickly covered her eyes. "I don’t know who covered Yiyi’s eyes, but now I can’t see anything or hear anything."
"..."
Xu Lai’s expression darkened. He shot Ruan Lan a stern look. "Keep spouting nonsense, and there will be no more late-night snacks for you."
The color drained from Ruan Lan’s face. "Brother-in-law, I was wrong!"
She could lose her life, she could abandon her principles, but she could not live without her late-night snacks.
After a meal that could have been either breakfast or lunch, Ruan Lan extended her leave from work and stayed home to play video games with Yiyi.
"Hey, brother-in-law, where’s Beibei?" Ruan Lan asked.
Xu Lai’s furrowed brow relaxed. "I kept feeling like something was off. It turns out Beibei was the one missing."
"..."
Ruan Lan was dumbfounded. "No way, brother-in-law! Did you actually forget her in the Immortal Domain? Quick, we have to go back and rescue the child!"
Xu Lai wasn’t too concerned. "It’s fine. Someone is taking care of them. Let them get some training."
Beibei and Xiao Hai are meant to be Yiyi’s future retinue. If nothing unexpected happened, they should be at Qingfeng Camp right now.
Although Qingfeng Camp spent most of its time guarding the South Heavenly Gate of the Heavenly Court, they would occasionally get sent on missions to tackle some tough challenges.
Though Beibei and Xiao Hai’s Boundaries were too low for them to join a fight, it was necessary for them to experience the law of the jungle in the Immortal Domain. After all, comparatively speaking, the cultivation world on Earth was simply too comfortable, so much so that it was virtually free of danger.
"Oh." Ruan Lan was somewhat disappointed. She had been hoping to go back to the Immortal Domain to have more fun.
"Study hard. As long as you don’t fail any classes, I’ll let you go," Xu Lai said, glancing at his sister-in-law.
Ruan Lan grew excited.
Wouldn’t passing all her classes be a piece of cake?
She nibbled on her spoon, giggling foolishly as she began fantasizing about her return to the Immortal Domain, imagining a scene where she could command the wind and rain.
"I can’t bear to see the Immortal Domain plunge into chaos because of my beauty," Ruan Lan muttered. "A beautiful face is truly a curse."
Yiyi opened her mouth to say something but then stopped herself.
Xu Lai patted his daughter’s head. "Don’t shatter your aunt’s beautiful dream."
In the Four Immortal Domains, beauty was the least valuable thing for a female Cultivator. After all, no matter how pretty you were, it was nowhere near as useful as a heavenly treasure. It might even attract the attention of wicked people. Only when one possessed absolute strength did beauty or talent become a bonus.
Take Fairy Qing Yuan, the Domain Master of the East. She was known as the number one beauty in the Eastern Immortal Domain, both in her youth and even now, yet there had never been a single conflict over her beauty. That was because Qing Yuan walked an invincible path; no one in the same Boundary could contend with her. Had it not been for Xu Lai, she would have been one of the people with the best chance of becoming The Supreme Emperor.
After all, when Xu Lai became an Emperor, Qing Yuan was already at the Nine Heavens of the Quasi-Emperor!
Ruan Lan might be beautiful, but she was nowhere near the level of Qing Yuan or his senior sister, Yu Guiwan.
But it was good for young people to have dreams. Who knew, maybe one day they would come true?
Xu Lai had no idea that in the future, Ruan Lan would indeed drive all the Cultivators in the Immortal Domain mad.
However, it wasn’t a madness born from a desire for her beauty, but a madness born from absolute fear! Even the successors of the Holy Lands and ancient Tao Lineages would be horrified upon meeting her and would immediately turn tail and flee. They ran for no other reason than pure terror.
After all, possessing the Starlight Array, known as the deadliest killing formation of all time, was enough to shock anyone. But what if you added the Zhoutian Star Fighting Formation, created by the great Emperor Qingfeng of the current era?
And what if those two great killing arrays still didn’t manage to kill you? What if, while grievously wounded, you desperately tried to kill your opponent, only to find she was protected by yet another Starlight Array, one with a defense tougher than the shell of the Heavenly Court’s third Divine General?
The feeling of sheer frustration would be enough to make anyone explode.
