Invincible Dad-Chapter 551 551: The Emperor's Calamity Comes! _1

Beyond the Emperor Realm.
At those four words, the Heavenly Dao, Sikong Jiu, froze and couldn't help but halt his advance.
He looked at Xu Lai cautiously. Though he didn't speak, his eyes were filled with a single, clear question: The Supreme Emperor… is he yours?
Xu Lai didn't speak either, his gaze calm and steady.
That gaze was inexplicably cold. It drenched Sikong Jiu in a cold sweat, with beads the size of soybeans rolling down his forehead and dripping onto the Faceless Spider's face.
"You're scared!" the Faceless Spider said. He was triumphant; his master was the descendant of an Emperor. How many in the entire Universe could possibly clash with such a person? When it came to noble status, his master was truly peerless!
Sikong Jiu was terrified. The current reigning Emperor was Emperor Qingfeng. That meant the man in the coffin couldn't possibly be the Supreme Emperor's son. Therefore... he had to be the descendant of an Emperor from a bygone era!
Using the name of someone who died millions of years ago to intimidate a modern-day cultivator? The Heavenly Dao almost burst out cursing.
Just as Sikong Jiu was about to crush the Faceless Spider's chest and send it to its doom, he heard it shout urgently, "My master is in the Quasi-Emperor Realm!"
"..."
Sikong Jiu held his foot back.
I can't even defeat an Immortal Venerable, let alone provoke a Quasi-Emperor.
Noticing the trepidation of the little boy in the red bellyband, the Faceless Spider grew even more confident. "Surely you know what being a descendant of an Emperor and what the Quasi-Emperor Realm represent, don't you?" he demanded. "Although my own boundary is low, I serve my master directly. Release me at once!"
The Faceless Spider's voice was filled with pride. An ordinary person would have been scared stiff by now. After all, either of the man's proclaimed identities was enough to shock the world.
But Xu Lai was quite indifferent, as if he didn't care about what was happening. He picked up his daughter, who was so exhausted she had closed her eyes. Xu Yiyi was so tired she was nearly unconscious, yet she kept waving the dead tree branch, still fighting the tide of Sea Demons that had long since been slain.
"Yiyi, Daddy's here. Go to sleep."
Xu Lai kissed his daughter's forehead. Xu Yiyi curled up in her father's arms like a well-behaved little cat. Yet, her hand holding the dead tree branch never loosened its tight, firm grip. Seeing this, Xu Lai finally smiled with satisfaction.
When he looked back at the mangled Qian Xiao, he pursed his lips. "Considering you fought to the death to protect Yiyi..."
He didn't finish his sentence. Xu Lai bit the tip of his finger, and a drop of blood merged into Qian Xiao's brow. In an instant, Qian Xiao's injuries healed completely, his body radiating a dazzling golden light.
Xu Lai gestured again. The figures of Xu Yiyi and Qian Xiao vanished, reappearing in their respective bedrooms.
After doing all this, Xu Lai finally approached the crystal coffin, muttering to himself, "Descendant of an Emperor... a Quasi-Emperor..."
"That's right! Kneel and beg for mercy, and my master might spare your lives when he awakens!" the Faceless Spider sneered.
But his eyes widened in shock. What am I seeing?
The young man slammed his palm down! The canopy of the Tree of Eternal Life, which had stood for untold millions of years, completely shattered. The crystal coffin was also caught in the impact, and a dense web of cracks spread across its surface.
"What are you doing!" The Faceless Spider was petrified, roaring furiously, "Are you deaf? My master is in the Quasi-Emperor Realm!"
"I've slain thirteen Quasi-Emperors." Xu Lai tilted his head. "What's so great about a Quasi-Emperor?"
The Faceless Spider choked. "But my master is the descendant of an Emperor! Your disrespect... I'm afraid..."
"I am an Emperor. Any more questions?"
"..."
The Faceless Spider was so angry he laughed. Fine, fine, fine. What an arrogant madman!
He said coldly, "I'd like to see if your claim to be an Emperor is true or false!"
The Heavenly Dao, Sikong Jiu, wanted to laugh but didn't quite dare. He held it in, feeling extremely uncomfortable, and could only brace himself to ask, "Supreme Emperor, shall I kill him? This little spider is a bit noisy."
"Let him watch," Xu Lai said indifferently.
"Understood," the Heavenly Dao replied. He glanced at the Faceless Spider, who now only had half a head, and felt a twinge of pity. The Supreme Emperor isn't just going to kill him; he's going to crush his spirit!
"Still not awake?" Xu Lai raised an eyebrow and slammed his palm down once more, this time completely shattering the crystal coffin.
But the young man lying at the center was unharmed. He was enveloped in an endless purple mist and had already opened his eyes. Within them, a bright moon and a golden sun flickered.
"Who dares disturb my slumber?" The young man's voice was so cold that it instantly froze the seawater for three hundred miles around as an endless, freezing wind, thick with snow, swept through the area.
"Master, these two intruders killed all your food and awakened you!" the Faceless Spider knelt and exclaimed.
After pondering for a long moment, the young man furrowed his brow slightly. "Who are you?"
PFFT.
The Heavenly Dao couldn't help but burst out laughing.
So this Quasi-Emperor doesn't even know the little spider. It was all just wishful thinking on its part.
"Master, you don't remember me?" the Faceless Spider said, his voice trembling. "Three hundred years ago, I stumbled upon this island by chance. You sent out a thread of your Divine Sense, ordering me to find food for you."
"I remember now." The young man closed his eyes and then reopened them. The sun and moon alternated in his gaze, making him appear even more majestic.
However, the Faceless Spider didn't know that the Divine Sense from three hundred years ago hadn't come from this master, but from the will of the Tree of Eternal Life.
Believing he had been recognized, the Faceless Spider was overjoyed. "Master, these two intruders have been spouting arrogant words and disrespecting you!"
The young man's gaze fell upon the Heavenly Dao, Sikong Jiu, and his brow furrowed even more deeply. After a long while, he uttered a few words: "Why has the Heavenly Dao gained sentience?"
The Heavenly Dao didn't dare answer. With a SWOOSH, he dove behind Xu Lai, ready to bolt at any moment.
The young man then noticed Xu Lai and said indifferently, "Seeing me, why do you not kneel?"
Xu Lai smiled.
The Heavenly Dao, Sikong Jiu, also smiled, but he felt his laughter was inappropriate and promptly snapped his mouth shut.
"I am Shang Yuan, son of the Great Emperor Yin Yang. I have slept for countless epochs, and now, nourished by the Tree of Eternal Life, I am at the Nine Heavens of the Quasi-Emperor, about to become an Emperor!" Shang Yuan stated calmly. "Kneel before me, and when I achieve my ascension, you will be blessed."
This descendant of an Emperor saw the anomaly in the Heavenly Dao at a glance and also discerned that this stranger, Xu Lai, was no ordinary man. He's likely a Quasi-Emperor as well! An asset like that will form the core of my court when I rule the Immortal Domain.
"Why don't you... become an Emperor first before you say anything else?" Sikong Jiu poked his head out from behind Xu Lai, speaking with a strange expression. "Oh, right, the epoch of the Great Emperor Yin Yang was the Yin Yang Epoch, forty-three epochs ago."
"So, forty-three million years have passed," Shang Yuan murmured, his eyes filled with sorrow. "Father, you said that Emperors do not meet good ends. Upon coming of age, I was sealed by you within the Tree of Eternal Life. After all this time... I can never see you again."
"So be it. Today, I shall become an Emperor to honor your spirit in the heavens."
Shang Yuan activated the boundary within him and bellowed, "Emperor Tribulation, come!"
