Chapter 1947: Chapter 1947: Massacre
The Eastern District players seem particularly wary of Super Evolutionaries with mental powers.
From their work logs, the two are partners who entered the Western District only ten days ago. Ten days ago, their work records were still in the Eastern District, and during these ten days, they have reaped rich rewards. Not only did they uncover three contact routes of the Resistance Army, but they also mastered the movement trajectory of twenty-seven people on this line, including players. Additionally, they captured three Outer Zone players, two of whom have already been sent to the Eastern District, while the tattooed man just caught hasn’t had time yet.
Xu Huo searched Beneath the Dimension for the wristbands they used.
The wristbands are named "Poison Stinger" with over a hundred models available, equipped with potions ranging from anesthetics to painkillers to deadly poison. These wristbands were developed specifically for players and have two modes. Simply wearing the wristband won’t affect a person, but if the hollow spikes on the wristband remain embedded in the skin and forcibly destroy the wristband, it will automatically trigger injection mode, injecting poison into the person’s body.
Because players have many ways to escape, these wristbands are generally used in injection mode immediately upon wearing them. Like the tattooed man, those with bad luck might directly die in a coma.
"Beep! Beep!" The work log instrument in Xu Huo’s hand suddenly sounded an alarm. He paused, immediately threw the instrument away, and then continuously wrapped it with a Spatial Barrier. Two seconds later, the instrument exploded, emitting a puff of white smoke before it was completely scrapped.
Whether it was due to the player’s death or the instrument’s special alarm system, the Eastern District people should have received the notification by now.
Xu Huo quickly stuffed the corpse and another Eastern District player into the staff dormitory, then took the mutant plant and left the stronghold.
Just when he left, he felt a spatial power covering from the Eastern District direction. He had just reached the street when he immediately entered an open restaurant. But just as he sat down, he felt a gaze sweeping from the stronghold’s direction.
Pretending nothing was wrong, Xu Huo ordered food and sat in the dirty environment waiting. The chopsticks he had just picked up were knocked down by two drunkards at the next table. He pounded the table and stood up, immediately getting into a scuffle with them.
Soon, the feeling of being watched disappeared, but in the next second, the space seemed to stagnate. Everyone on the street stopped moving—not because time stopped, but everyone was stuck in the air. The spatial rays in this area suddenly became dense and firm, transforming into a Spatial Barrier fitting the shape of people and objects.
Xu Huo maintained his punching action, his eyeballs moving chaotically like other gourmets, trying to break free from this situation.
However, the situation didn’t last long. In less than two seconds, everything returned to normal.
But since people were stuck, the chef’s hand was smeared with an entire batch of seasoning he just threw in. The drunk didn’t feel it, but the sober felt it, though they dared not investigate deeper. Driven by survival instinct, everyone chose to leave immediately, even the restaurant owner left the drunken guys lying on the floor, abandoning the spatula and ran.
Xu Huo also left with the others. Luckily, nothing else happened on this street; instead, a fight broke out several hundred meters away.
The fighters silenced the noise, so no sound came out, but within a minute, one side won overwhelmingly.
It should be the Eastern District players...
As this thought flickered through his mind, Xu Huo felt someone teleport in front of him. Amidst the crowd, he kept pace with them until close when he looked up towards the street’s end.
The Eastern District player wearing inspector uniform walked out from the corner.
The inspector’s appearance, plus what happened just now, isn’t good news for Western District people. Someone shouted, "The Eastern District people are making a move," causing immediate chaos as people rushed out of their homes, running in the opposite direction.
"It’s true after all!" someone said tearfully, "They really want to kill us all!"
"Run away!"
"We’re already living worse than pigs and dogs, why do they still want us to die!"
"Aren’t inspectors also Western District people? Helping Eastern District people kill their compatriots, what good outcome do you expect?!"
...
Countless voices intertwined, but the inspector coldly watched the running people, showing no response to their cries.
Perhaps provoked by his attitude, someone threw garbage at him amidst the chaos.
Undoubtedly, the objects were blocked by the Defensive Barrier, the flashing white light terrifying those around, especially the throwers who collapsed to the ground with weak knees, "It’s... Eastern... Eastern District players..."
The Eastern District players usually are elusive, their sudden appearance late at night in the Western District made people suspicious. As silence followed briefly, the noise of fleeing became louder.
Yet, the Eastern District player didn’t care about the escalation, raising a prop and started killing!
The fierce sword light crossed the street, instantly taking tens of lives. As blood and parts splattered, countless screams erupted.
"Ha ha!" This spectacle seemed to please the Eastern District player, who laughed, stepping into the crowd for a frantic massacre, even flattening the buildings lining the street.
"You ants! Inferior beings! Worse than pigs and dogs, how dare you live?"
The screams and pleas tore through the night sky, awakening the entire Western District. Not only the Resistance Army, but inspectors living everywhere rushed over. Whoever initiated didn’t matter, they used props to restrict the Eastern District player, isolating the battlefield.
Unfortunately, the ones acting weren’t particularly strong, struggling against the Eastern District player, who showed little interest in them, easily breaking the barrier and killing another batch.
"Die! Die! All of you die!"
The Eastern District player laughed insanely, deranged, not resembling a normal person.
Yet, this image matched the Western District people’s bloodthirsty fantasy of Eastern District people; someone took up their weapon:
"Either way we die, so let’s fight, spitting on him would be a victory..."
Pity the words weren’t finished as the person died under the Eastern District player’s blade.
Only a few escaped the street, while the Eastern District player, after a brief pause, turned towards more crowded areas.
By now most people were fleeing recklessly, some starting to beg the Resistance Army for help.
However, the Resistance Army didn’t show up, but a few inspectors wearing the same uniform did, positioned on buildings of varying heights and surrounding the murderous Eastern District player.
