King of Assassins-Chapter 667 - 505 Holy Hall

Chapter 667

Outsiders couldn't see the changes happening within the Augustus faction, and the Elders of Augustus were equally clueless about what had happened. Nor did they know what would happen next.
Each Elder's face was very grave. They hurried back from various planets to the Elder Council's chamber. Many were filled with unease. However, as Elders, at the very least, they all managed to maintain a composed facade.
Luosi sat in the back row of the chamber; as the top commander of the Ninth Fleet in the Domain of the Gods, his status was at the bottom of the military hierarchy. Within the entire Elder Council, he was at the lowest tier.
At fifty-seven years old, Luosi was indeed a young Golden Powerhouse, with remarkable military talents and exceptional abilities in fleet command.
The reason for his low status was, firstly, his youth. Compared to many Elders, his age was not even a fraction of theirs.
More crucially, Luosi did not worship the Evil God. In his family, a person like him was completely an Alien.
It was precisely because he was young and gifted that he was unwilling to worship the Evil God.
In fact, most young people in the Augustus faction disliked the Evil God. Instinctively, they loathed the bloodthirstiness and brutality of the Evil God.
However, the world did not belong to the young but was held firmly in the hands of powerful Elders.
These people had obtained tremendous benefits from the Evil God and were loyal supporters.
They instinctively rejected those who did not worship the Evil God. On the other hand, they were relatively tolerant of these young people.
Because they understood that when these young people grew older, they would realize the pricelessness of life and the necessity of worshipping the Evil God.
Luosi was also very aware of his status as an Alien and never voiced his opinions within the Elder Council.
This time, however, Luosi felt something was very wrong.
Despite each Elder managing their expressions well, the tense and oppressive atmosphere could not be concealed.
"The old scoundrels are in a bad mood... every one of them with a dark face!"
Imperia, sitting next to Luosi, was chewing gum with a playful tone and shaking her leg flippantly.
Imperia was the youngest Elder and also the most beautiful. Anyone who had seen Imperia believed she was the first beauty of the Domain of the Gods, perhaps even the entire Alliance.
Luosi turned to look at Imperia. Her flaxen wavy hair was casually draped, and her dark eyes were bright and lively.
From the side, her nose was high, and her rosy lips had a beautifully arched curve. Her ivory-white skin was just the right shade of pale.
Although no single feature of Imperia was particularly stunning, as a whole, she possessed an extraordinary allure.
She seemed not to care about anything, yet she exuded sensual charm.
Luosi had to admit that in this respect, she was very much like her father, Marco, with a natural, uninhibited aura that displayed a powerful lifeforce.
No matter where she was, Imperia always shone with dazzling vitality. Compared to her, others seemed like dull sand and dust.
Perhaps due to her pride, Imperia didn't even care about her father and didn't like the Evil God. She believed in nothing.
However, Imperia was only a Silver Sword Hero. At just twenty-something, she became an Elder mainly because her father was so powerful and influential.
Luosi nodded to Imperia but didn't join in. With such an impressive father, she naturally could speak freely. Her beauty ensured no one would hold a grudge against her.
If he responded, he would certainly incur the resentment of other Elders.
Imperia said to Luosi, "I heard the top commanders of the First Fleet and Third Fleet refused to attend this meeting, and even the Governor of Feilengcui Star refused to attend. Things are looking bad..."
This time, Imperia communicated with Luosi using Spiritual Power, obviously knowing these matters were not suitable for public discussion.
Luosi sighed, "Things are indeed not looking good."
He couldn't help but ask Imperia, "Aren't you worried about Lord Marco?"
"It's not my concern,"
Imperia said nonchalantly, "I've only met him three times in my 27 years, do you think I have any feelings for him?"
"Alright."
Luosi felt that Imperia still harbored resentment, but now was not the time to reason with a woman.
Other Elders were also communicating privately. However, everyone maintained a dignified posture on the surface.
The large chamber, though filled with dozens of people, was particularly quiet.
It wasn't until Robin entered the room and walked to the podium that all the Elders' eyes focused on him.
Robin had a languid appearance and no Spirit even when standing at the front. His gaze toward the Elders was cold and detached, devoid of any emotion.
It was as if he was a laborer forced to do a job he didn't want to do.
The Elders' eyes lit up when they saw Robin appear, even Imperia fixed her gaze on him, as if hoping to find a flower on the old man's face.
She quietly said to Luosi, "This one from your family is like a dried corpse; I'd rather die than live like that."
"Don't talk nonsense; he'll hear you."
Luosi warned Imperia, as Robin was an Upper-tier Gold, and his Spiritual Power was far beyond theirs. Saying bad things about him to his face was unwise.
Robin, though an Upper-tier Gold, was narrow-minded. The difference between him and Marco was significant.
Robin seemed to have heard Imperia's words; his gaze swept across Imperia.
Imperia's grin, though still visible, was stiff. Despite her ease, her status and Power were vastly inferior to Robin's.
Robin quickly withdrew his gaze and looked at the empty podium, as if there was an unseen speech manuscript placed there.
After a moment of silence, he said, "Due to sudden major changes, according to the temporary emergency ordinance, starting from now, I will assume the position of the Supreme Leader of the Domain of the Gods, with the highest authority."
The faces of many Elders changed dramatically, their eyes filled with doubt as they looked at Robin, yet no one was willing to speak out publicly.
Everyone knew Robin's temperament and his methods. His sudden announcement of taking the position of Supreme Leader, regardless of its legality, already indicated his intention to seize power solely.
The silence of the crowd already expressed their attitude of protest.
Robin ignored the reaction of the crowd and continued, "For the Elders who refuse to participate in this meeting, I declare them rebels. All their positions will be immediately revoked, and their families will be stripped of all assets."
This order was so cold and uncompromising that many Elders looked equally unpleasant.
One Elder couldn't resist and stood up to ask, "Sir, aren't these measures too severe, and don't they also violate procedure?"
Robin coldly glanced at the Elder, "I am the Supreme Leader, and my words are the highest law. Don't you understand?"
The Elder's face turned ugly, "Sir, what is your reasonable justification for doing this?"
Robin ignored the Elder's questioning and continued, "The first order of the Divine Leader, the Domain of the Gods prohibits worship of the Master of Blood or any Evil God. Violate this order, and death is immediate."
Upon hearing this, the council chamber suddenly erupted.
Immediately, more than twenty Elders stood up, shouting together, "Lord Robin, have you gone mad?"
"Our family has worshiped our master for two thousand years, yet you want to overthrow our master's faith. What are you trying to do?"
"Prohibiting the worship of our master is a grave sin. Lord Robin, you must think carefully..."
No wonder the crowd reacted so vehemently; this group of Elders were all seasoned devotees of the Master of Blood. Worshiping an Evil God is not something you can simply choose not to believe in.
The Evil God grants power and life, and once accepted, they form a close bond with the Evil God.
To renounce the Evil God easily invites retaliation from the Evil God. This is no joke.
Augustus's faction has worshiped the Evil God for two thousand years and is quite familiar with the Master of Blood. They know full well that the cost of abandoning the Master of Blood is steep.
For many, they cannot afford the price of betrayal.
Robin wanted to be the Supreme Leader, which many Elders could tolerate. But for them to abandon the Master of Blood, many Elders could not endure.
Sitting at the back, Luosi and Imperia were both startled, not knowing what Robin intended to do.
Robin could live this long entirely by relying on the power of the Evil God. Why suddenly ban the Evil God, and with such determination.
Imperia couldn't help but say to Luosi, "What's wrong with this old man? Could he be under duress?"
Gao Xuan descended on Eternal Star and fought with many Elders. In the end, only Robin returned.
Privately, various theories were unavoidable. Some said Robin took the opportunity to kill all the Elders, wanting to dominate the Domain of the Gods alone.
Others said Gao Xuan won a complete victory, and Robin surrendered on his knees, barely surviving. From now on, the Domain of the Gods would change its surname to Gao.
Robin, after all, was just a puppet of Gao Xuan.
Various conspiracy theories were flying everywhere. However, the Elders did not take them seriously.
They didn't know the truth, yet roadside passersby knew it so clearly. Isn't that ridiculous?
The obvious is that someone was making trouble, fabricating nonsense to disturb the Domain of the Gods.
Yet looking at what Robin did, it aligned well with one of those theories.
Even Imperia was filled with deep suspicion, wondering if Robin was controlled by Gao Xuan.
Luosi didn't say anything, though he was also suspicious. But the more suspicious it became, the less he could speak recklessly.
Facing the agitated Elders, Robin appeared indifferent, "Are you going to defy my orders?"
"What Supreme Leader? Without the Elder Council's approval, none of this is legal. We do not acknowledge..."
A group of Elders dared not confront Robin head-on; they wanted to limit the conflict to the procedural level.
Everyone sat down to discuss first the justice of the procedure. If Robin remained assertive, they planned to take a step back. Using this as a condition, they then intended to negotiate with Robin.
What surprised everyone was that Robin had no intention of negotiating. He said indifferently, "Worshiping an Evil God and still obsessed is blatantly defying the Supreme Leader's orders; you deserve death."
The Elders sensed something was wrong, and an Elder shouted loudly, "Robin, are you daring to act recklessly!?"
Robin said nothing. He pointed with his finger, and the two King Slayer Swords flashed in the air.
The twenty or so Elders who stood up to oppose Robin collapsed neatly on the ground, devoid of any breath.
Even among them, the two Golden Powerhouses couldn't withstand the Power of Laws that severed the threads of fate wielded by the King Slayer Swords. Once the Dual Swords fell, all the resisters instantly perished.
Such ruthless means made others shudder in fear.
Robin's gaze swept across the others, "Do you have any other opinions?"
The remaining Elders all bowed their heads. Even Imperia put down her crossed legs, and her smile vanished.
However, when everyone else lowered their heads, only Imperia dared to look directly at Robin. Her gaze was filled with confusion and shock, mixed with a strong sense of curiosity.
In the council chamber filled with death, coldness, and decay, Imperia appeared stunningly beautiful.
Like a white flower blooming on a grave, pure, gorgeous, and possessing a transcendent beauty.
Luosi couldn't help but glance at Imperia, admiring her beauty.
From the depths of his mind, Gao Xuan's voice echoed, "This girl is good."
Gao Xuan didn't say much, but Luosi understood his meaning. He loudly proclaimed, "To completely resolve the matter of the Evil God and its followers, I will establish a specialized organization: the Holy Hall. Luosi will serve as the first Holy Hall Master, with Imperia as Deputy Hall Master..."
