Capítulo 925: Chapter 330: Consultation
Since he was in New York, Adrian naturally couldn’t go back right away. The film wasn’t progressing smoothly, and there was only that brief scene left. He might as well take this time as a holiday to adjust his mood. Stone, however, needed to return for her work, so he sent her back with another small private plane, and then got involved with Amber Heard himself.
Despite the number of women around him in New York at the moment—even the crew of “The Devil Wears Prada” hadn’t left—the exterior location for “Gossip Girl” was in New York. The competition between Scarlett and Keeley, as well as Leighton and Blake, were quite entertaining games. Still, trying new things never gets old, and Amber had always been willing to engage with him deeply.
To be fair, Amber wasn’t an especially casual woman, but she was open-minded. When Adrian first teased her, she straightforwardly revealed that she was bisexual. Naturally, for Adrian, this wasn’t an issue. Not to mention, he had the opportunity to… And thus, he completely settled things with Amber during this time in New York.
Following that, he also managed to settle things with Teresa, thanks to Amber whispering persuasion by her ear, saving Adrian quite a bit of time. Indeed, he was quite taken with her and had always attempted to tease Teresa, but unfortunately, it was unclear whether she was unaware or pretending not to notice, as she had never responded. Hence Amber resorted to this tactic and was already waiting when Adrian brought Teresa back to the hotel.
This certainly worked out well for Adrian, but for Amber, it was worthwhile.
As for Teresa’s potential indecision on whether it was worth it or not, she will come around. If she wants to become the next Blanchett or Naomi, she will come around, and especially with Adrian’s guidance.
However, while Adrian was enjoying himself, the consequent side effects took a slight toll on him. First was Leighton and Blake’s counterattack in the RV—with both of them dressed in the school uniforms he currently favored—these usually competitive individuals suddenly became incredibly cooperative and in sync, leaving him quite surprised. Then it was Scarlett and Keeley who wanted to continue their previous competition, with overflowing temptations supplemented by many new tricks, leaving one dazzled.
Next came Alexander and Miranda; these two women thoroughly leveraged their long legs, almost crushing his waist. In the end, even Julia put aside her reserve to compete with Anne, seeing who could outdo the other with words.
Despite these happening within two days, they were only a minor challenge for Adrian. Yet from the women’s actions, he realized what could happen if he stayed any longer. Although Adrian didn’t mind giving it a try—previous beach parties and the earlier “Desperate Housewives” party were small in scale even if chaotic compared to mixing women who were at odds—it’s hard to predict the outcome if the women, united in anger, resolve their differences.
So, even though Anne might be more obedient than a pet, he quickly boarded a plane back to the West Coast.
In truth, Adrian understood their motives—to prevent more women from joining the fray—not only in bed, but in his life. The interest chain he meticulously crafted essentially encompassed most of the women.
For instance, the respective fashion brands of Monica and Alexander, the production companies of Sarah and Julia, whereas Lin Chi-Ling and Gao Yuanyuan monopolized high-end Asian female roles in Hollywood, and while there were a few women not included, there was ample space for everyone. Consequently, adding another woman could mean sharing a slice, which was definitely something they opposed.
Alright, Adrian wasn’t planning to keep things exclusive. Although Stone, Amber, and Teresa each had their own charms, from his perspective, it was sufficient to enjoy the novelty occasionally, with no need to put them on a shelf. Over the past two years, the only one who evoked a desire to collect was Ellen Page, the not particularly pretty but charming Canadian girl, which was quite surprising yet undeniably true.
For this reason, Adrian initially wanted to give “Juno” to Kristen for skill polishing but, considering Ellen was originally cast in “An American Crime,” he ended up keeping it with Ellen—with the foreseeing advantage and VI Group’s online leverage finding blog writer Diablo Cody and publishing her brochure with subsequent movie adaptation posed no issue.
Indeed, the women wouldn’t care about such details; they only saw his dalliance continuing and were not averse to uniting to eliminate potential threats. If it were one or two or three or four women doing this, Adrian wouldn’t care, but if more united, he would have to make concessions.
Very well, set that aside. After returning to Los Angeles, over approximately a week later, finally, just before four months had passed, the first billionaire-playing-billionaire Superhero movie “Iron Man” officially wrapped up.
The site that day was full of cheers; when Favreau announced completion, many people shouted and threw their hats, coats, and other items skyward, as though finding relief at last.
“Was my performance really that bad?” Adrian couldn’t help but ask, and then silence ensued for about a few seconds. Everyone looked over and collectively responded: “Yes!”
Extremely uniform as if rehearsed countless times; from the director to the assistant director to the aides and other actors, none were spared. Should someone uninformed witness such a scene, they’d surely think Adrian committed some atrocity. Unfortunately, he anticipated this, so his response was sharp, promptly patting Favreau’s shoulder: “Alright, see you in the second one.”
Favreau was startled for a moment, then rolled his eyes immediately. He originally had two contracts, and subsequent reactions from others led to an echoing sigh, quite interesting.
Indeed, the dragged-out movie finally ended, bringing the life rhythms back to the leisurely state at the year’s start. Although Adrian has been quite relaxed this year, having more time to spend with the women and daughters was nice whenever he could and occasionally play games.
“Maybe I actually should fire the guy designing this profession; a buff lasting only five minutes, a Holy Seal just 30 seconds, using Judgement requires another one to gain additional attack, what do they think of this profession? Or did they simply design it as a pastime?” Adrian, hand behind his head, watched the game character on the computer screen frustratedly, notwithstanding the premonition regarding it and reaching level 45, yet couldn’t help but sigh.
Fortunately, at that moment, Deva ran over holding her little raccoon plushie, peeking curiously from the side: “What are you doing, dad?”
“Hey, dear, all dressed up? Let dad have a look.” Adrian immediately scooped the little one up.
Long black hair hung past her shoulders tied into two small braids, clad in a beige dress with rosy cheeks, looking adorably very cute.
“Am I pretty, dad?” Deva asked proudly, waving the plushie in her hand.
“Of course, very pretty, just like a little angel. Your mom sure knows how to pick clothes,” Adrian pinched her chubby cheek, adding, “Especially this little hairpin, matches you perfectly.”
Deva spun her eyes then whispered in dad’s ear: “Don’t tell mom, okay? The hairpin and shoes were picked by Juliet.”
Then she giggled, seemingly quite pleased, incredibly cute.
“Really?” Adrian raised an eyebrow, “So Juliet is good at picking things, huh? Looks like she could be your stylist someday then.”
“Sure, sure, someday I’ll let Juliet pick clothes for me,” Deva replied enthusiastically. Juliet would certainly contest her if she heard and saw this.
With age, Deva and Juliet were likely to have arguments as soon they attend school, but their disagreements never escalate, and they ultimately grow closer. Nowadays, wherever they go, the two little ones always sleep together, sometimes making one wish for another pair of non-twin by all appearances twin daughters.
Adrian immediately leaned closer to kiss the little girl, only for Deva to recoil, wrinkling her nose: “No, dad’s beard is prickly.”
“Oh?” Adrian raised an eyebrow, promptly pulling her into his arms and rubbing his stubble against her chubby cheek, making the little girl scream.
“I hate this, Daddy is a bad guy! A big bad guy!” Finally struggling to jump to the ground, Deva made a big funny face and then ran out quickly with pounding footsteps.
“What’s wrong? Teasing Deva again?” Monica came out from the room at this moment, dressed in a black semi-transparent long dress, with a wide-brimmed hat on her head, exuding a classic charm.
“Of course not.” Although Adrian said this, he proudly stroked his chin. Ever since he grew the beard for “Iron Man,” poking his daughter’s cheeks with stubble had become an essential task, even Lily, the audacious one, avoided this trick.
Seeing through him, Monica rolled her eyes but didn’t say much, just raised her hands: “How do I look?”
“Pretty stunning.” Adrian smiled slightly, circling around her and hugging her waist from behind, “Still as charming as ever.”
Even though Monica smiled, she touched her eye corner and sighed: “Unknowingly, the crow’s feet have gotten so deep.”
“So what?” Adrian grabbed her hand and turned her around, “Everyone grows old; it’s a natural occurrence, no need to avoid it. Plus, for you, growing more charming, like a vintage wine exuding a subtle but mesmerizing flavor, it might not be obvious at first, but after a few sips, the rich aftertaste can intoxicate you.”
Monica didn’t answer, just stared at him steadily. Adrian cupped her cheeks and kissed her lightly at the corner of her eye: “You are mine, Monica, through sickness and health, you are mine.”
He’s said this more than once before, but never with such profound meaning, so Monica leaned into his arms and held him tightly, silently until there was a knock at the door.
“If you don’t go, you’ll be late,” Sophie appeared at the door, dressed in a tasteful women’s suit with trousers, and raised an eyebrow upon noticing something, “What are you doing?”
“Nothing, just a bit sentimental,” With one arm around Monica’s waist, Adrian, smiling, stretched the other arm to hug Sophie’s waist, pulling her into his arms, “I’m so lucky to have you both.”
“Yes, you’re so lucky.” Sophie rolled her eyes, emphasizing the word “you.”
Adrian seemed not to notice, smiling while sliding his hand over her crow’s feet: “Of course, to see these increase bit by bit here and there and to help them increase with massage, how could I not be lucky.”
Sophie paused, her still beautiful eyes showing a mix of surprise and complexity. After so many years together, how could she not understand the meaning in his words? Her head turned to another side, and Monica leaned against Adrian with a smile, having lived together for several years, facing off on the bed countless times, Sophie pretty much understood.
“Hmph!” Although she gave a soft hum, her gaze on Adrian had already turned incredibly soft, and a sentimental and nostalgic atmosphere soon flowed among the three, warm and very comfortable.
“Alright, let’s go, otherwise the two little ones downstairs will run up,” said Adrian after a while, hugging Sophie and Monica as he headed toward the stairs.
But after only a few steps, he reached out and gave their still nicely lifted buttocks a firm squeeze, immediately dispelling the previous atmosphere. Although Sophie and Monica were annoyed, all they could do was give him a sidelong glance, making Adrian burst out laughing.
Downstairs, he caught the running Deva and Juliet, and the group went out to get in the car for Beverly Hills, to Adrian’s mansion, as today is the monthly mothers’ gathering day.
Frankly speaking, as the number of children increased, this gathering became somewhat pointless. Initially, Adrian arranged it thinking that having the children’s mothers gather would be relatively peaceful, allowing them to better communicate. However, as the number of children increased, the team of mothers grew as well, with Zetajones, Nicole, and Naomi added last year and this year. Adrian had already hinted to Rachel, who chose to acquiesce. In the future, Alexander, Miranda, Britney, Christina, etc., probably none will escape, as one can imagine.
Then, people always tend to form cliques; groups that don’t get along remain so. For instance, Zetajones continuously has nothing to say to Kate—in fact, none of the three Kates get along well, but Blanchett is relatively restrained. Nicole and Gwyneth also always have minor squabbles, despite having fiercely battled at a beach party, so Adrian seldom pulls all the women into the same scene.
Previously, it was manageable, but after Sandy and Alice were born, every mothers’ gathering left Adrian extremely busy—busy balancing their relationships to prevent any chaos. Of course, he could have canceled the big gathering, splitting it into several small gatherings, allowing mothers with relatively good relationships to chat together, but he never really considered it.
“I don’t want Lily to face estrangement from her sisters in the future,” Adrian stated seriously after Kate subtly raised this issue, “In any case, we’re already one big family, and I hope the children can coexist peacefully. Even if with age, there are inevitable frictions and potentially even falling out, they should at least not be inherently conflicted because of different mothers.”
“…It’s still your fault.” Kate took a long silent pause before saying this, her tone both sarcastic and helpless. After all, this bastard had “kidnapped” her.
Of course, Adrian doesn’t deny it’s his fault, so he has no problem enjoying this pain every month, as he has a lot of time now anyway.
The extra time doesn’t just allow him to arrange these things better but also lets him plan movies in greater detail, like Kate’s next Oscar-pursuing piece. So far, for her several nominations, Adrian has pushed from behind, helping her accumulate quite some experience, and her acting skills have been honed step by step. Hence, he specifically chose a previously political film by Kate this time to see what she can achieve without his intervention.
Additionally, New Line is busy with “Twilight,” and Jessica Stoyadinovich has already been confirmed to play the leading role. Due to his mischief, she’s officially renamed Stoya Dore. Naturally, Adrian has tested her in bed, and Stoya, renamed, is quite obedient, knowing who’s providing her with these, so she fulfills any request Adrian makes.
Adrian is quite satisfied with her obedient and docile appearance, and looking at the “Twilight” cast list chosen under his impact, besides Kristen and Kim Tae Hee playing the female lead’s two classmates, Ashley Greene and Brooklyn Decker play the Cullen sisters, Amanda Pit plays the female lead’s mother, while January Jones is Mrs. Cullen.
Not bad at all. With Stoya’s help, dealing with them one by one like with Amber shouldn’t be difficult. Oh, and mentioning here, with Amber’s rather enchanting looks, Adrian plans to have her play one of the villainous female vampires in the second film. And the other… is still Dakota Fanning.
According to Adrian’s view, Dakota currently has no further upward space as a child star, and soon the awkward phase every child star faces will arrive. So, reducing the pace a bit, playing roles in commercial films like this is the best way to get through this period, though she seems to have some of her own ideas.
“This is…” Adrian glanced at the script in his hand, then looked at Dakota sitting in front of him, slightly tense.
“I just want to hear your opinion.” She spoke with a respectful tone.
“Alright.” Adrian had no objection, opening the cover, with the script title clearly appearing before his eyes: “Hound Dog” (To Be Continued. If you like this work, please come to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets, your support is my biggest motivation.)
