Leave Me Alone, Big Brothers! [BL]-Chapter 53: Lazy Bastard

Chapter 53

Chapter 53: Lazy Bastard
Nathan was too shocked to see the boy. Franc seemed equally shocked. Of all the possibilities, how could he be in the same class as the most annoying boy in the Salazar family?
It was a complete nightmare.
Madam Lambert, the history teacher, asked him to introduce himself. The tall, elderly woman sounded scary, so Nathan chose to focus on his current goal at school.
Don’t pay attention to that red grasshopper.
Nathan introduced himself without mentioning his family name. Just Nathan.
One of the girls asked a question that represented the curiosity of all the children in the class.
"I thought you were Nael. Are you really his twin?" asked the girl.
Nathan simply nodded. Even though he tried to avoid it, he couldn’t hide his face. He cursed how everyone knew Nael. They were in different classes!
"So, are you Franc’s cousin?" asked a boy with glasses, looking at him and then at Franc.
Nathan didn’t seem interested in answering. "I don’t know him very well," he said.
"Fred, not everyone with the same family name has to know each other! Oh my God," quipped a beautiful little girl, looking at the boy with glasses.
The class became a little noisy.
Madam Lambert raised her hand, instantly restoring silence.
"You can continue later. And you can sit there," said Madam Lambert, pointing to an empty desk at the back of the classroom.
He was surprised to see an empty desk at the back. At his old school, that spot was fought over by all the kids. Meanwhile, he didn’t really like being at the back because it was noisy.
The desk wasn’t too far into the corner, it was the second one from the window. And at the very end, near the window, there was already an occupant. A boy he found very interesting. His face was like a sculpture, staring out the window. His dark hair was slightly messy. His expression looked... lazy.
Nathan didn’t pay much attention to him, but it seemed the boy wasn’t interested in getting acquainted, so Nathan immediately sat down and opened a book. He hadn’t brought any textbooks, only a blank notebook.
Then he noticed that everyone else was opening their laptops.
Damn, he didn’t have a laptop.
A few moments later, a man in a brown uniform interrupted Madam Lambert, handing her a black bag.
The woman looked annoyed and called Nathan over.
Nathan was surprised when he was told he was receiving a laptop from the school. A laptop!
Nathan immediately fiddled with it. He wasn’t familiar with laptops at all. What was he supposed to do with it? He tried opening the folders. There were already several subject files inside.
He wasn’t focused on the lesson. He didn’t know what Madam Lambert was saying, he was still trying to figure out the laptop.
He thought it was cool to use one like this. When Madam Lambert gave the assignment, all the students sighed and began typing on their laptops.
Nathan was still confused. The teacher kindly explained that he had to open a website to submit his assignment once he was done.
But even after trying hard to understand, Nathan still had difficulties. Everyone else looked serious and busy.
Then he turned to his left, toward the boy.
"Um, sorry. I don’t understand which one I should click," Nathan said softly.
The boy continued typing with a lazy expression on his face.
"Just click whatever you find," the boy replied, without even turning his head.
Nathan understood the tone immediately, like someone shooing away a beggar. He felt a little offended. What was wrong with that boy?
Nathan took a deep breath and stared at his laptop screen. He was about to give up when a boy next to him leaned over.
"Hey, I’m Miko. Need some help?" the boy asked.
Nathan looked at the tall boy with a big smile. He looked like a guardian angel. Nathan nodded.
Miko pulled his desk closer and gently adjusted Nathan’s laptop. "You have to log in first. The email and password are in the manual, in the bag."
Nathan suddenly realized there was a book in the bag.
"You’ll need to change the password later," Miko said patiently, explaining the school website, how to submit assignments, check grades, and view rankings.
Nathan noticed his profile was still empty.
"For transfer students, your grades from your old school usually appear after about a week," Miko explained.
Nathan nodded immediately. "Thanks."
"No problem." Miko smiled and returned to his seat.
It seemed Nathan’s assumptions were wrong. He had expected a scary elite school like in the movies. But his classmates seemed normal. They chatted and joked like any other kids. It just wasn’t as crowded as his old school.
When the history lesson ended, they eagerly surrounded him. This surprised Nathan. He had expected mockery or coldness.
Instead, they introduced themselves.
"Hi! I’m Beatrice," said a girl with a headband and long brown hair, extending her hand. "Welcome to XII-D. I’m the class coordinator. If you need anything, just ask me."
Nathan shook her hand. It was very soft. "Thanks." He felt awkward and clumsy.
After Beatrice, the others introduced themselves one by one. The girls smiled enthusiastically.
"I’m Liam," said a boy with a firm handshake. "We heard about the transfer. It’s cool to have another Salazar."
Nathan didn’t realize how popular his family was. They mentioned his family name like it belonged to a celebrity. He glanced at Franc, who was still sitting in his seat. The boy seemed different from the party, so quiet now.
They kept asking him trivial questions, and Nathan didn’t understand why they cared. Things like whether he liked going to the cinema, golf, or his hobbies.
Suddenly, there was a snort beside him.
"So annoying," the boy muttered, staring out the window.
Nathan frowned. Was the boy talking to him? "Sorry? Are you talking to me?"
The boy slowly turned his head.
Nathan found himself staring into stormy gray eyes that looked at him as if he were a smudge of dirt on a pristine window. The boy was undeniably handsome, he admitted it again, more clearly this time. The kind of face that belonged on a billboard, but his expression was so cold it could freeze water.
"Can’t you sit somewhere else?" the boy said, turning his shoulder away to face the window again.
Nathan’s brow twitched. Okay. Not everyone is polite. Some people are just assholes.
"I’ll sit wherever I want, thanks," Nathan shot back, putting on an annoyed expression.
The room went silent. It felt as if he had dropped an atomic bomb.
No one said anything. They simply returned to their seats as the next teacher entered.
What happened? Had he said something wrong?
Nathan glanced at the boy, who was now staring at him intently.
It seemed he had chosen the wrong seat. He was sitting next to a crazy kid.
The boy ignored him again, putting in a pair of wireless earbuds and closing his eyes.
When the bell rang for the first break, the boy stood up, grabbed his phone, and walked out without a word. The moment the door closed, the atmosphere in the room shifted.
The "polite" students leaned in, looking concerned.
"You’re brave," Miko whispered.
Nathan frowned. "Because I sat down?"
"Because you talked back to Zane Leinster," Beatrice said quietly. "He’s... difficult."
"What? You’re afraid of that lazy bastard?" Nathan asked.
"No, you don’t understand," Miko said nervously, glancing at the door. "Zane is bad news. Even the teachers don’t mess with him. His family is influential, sure, but Zane himself... he’s got a reputation. He runs a gang."
Nathan blinked. He almost laughed. "A gang?"
The class watched him expectantly.
"What kind of gang?" Nathan asked, amused. "Do they kill people? Sell drugs?"
"It’s not funny," Beatrice said seriously. "They fight. Like, actually fight. Zane controls the West Wing corridors. Just... don’t get on his bad side. Everyone avoids him."
Nathan leaned back in his chair. In his old neighborhood, a gang meant kids who thought they were cool and picked fights with other schools just to prove something. He hated those kinds of gangs.
And Zane Leinster... he didn’t seem any different from those kids.
Just another jerk who thought he was untouchable.
