Life is Easier If You’re Handsome-Chapter 306

Chapter 306

The Korean variety show Knowing Bros.
It ran under a school-themed concept, with guests typically playing the role of transfer students introducing themselves.
The general format was:
Part 1: Talk segment centered around personal quiz questions and stories.
Part 2: A custom set tailored to the guest, for themed interactions or challenges.
It was one of Korea’s most consistently beloved programs, and since many guests used it to promote upcoming projects, Kim Donghu’s appearance to promote Murcielago wasn’t surprising at all.
But—
“It hits different, doesn’t it? I mean... he’s the first Korean to lead a Hollywood superhero movie.”
This wasn’t just about promotion. Usually, actors came on to push a show or film they were in. But in Kim Donghu’s case—
“He’s not just promoting—he’s representing. Like a real Hollywood actor coming home.”
It gave the impression that he was taking care of his own country, like he was personally making time for Korea.
For most Hollywood films, you’d get some Korean subtitles in a YouTube promo, maybe a few Korean words from the cast.
But the lead actor coming to a Korean variety show in person?
Unheard of.
And for it to be Kim Donghu? Even more precious.
This was a man whose mere appearance on any program guaranteed 30% viewership—a walking, talking box office juggernaut.
So, PD Jin Suchang prepared thoroughly to showcase Kim Donghu at his best.
Part 1? The talk show? No need to interfere—let the regular cast do their thing.
The focus was Part 2: a custom segment built just for him.
Ideally, they wanted to go all-in on the Batman theme—but...
“The movie’s not even out yet... going too hard with the theme might not be ideal.”
So instead, they leaned into Kim Donghu’s combat side: showing off glimpses of the Batman action, and letting people experience his punching power as a professional boxer.
That was the plan.
But there was one crucial thing PD Jin Suchang hadn’t accounted for:
“I feel like he... shouldn’t hit too hard?”
“He says it’s fine! Bring it on!”
“Then can I hit that punching machine first?”
“Whoa, you’re really warming up for this, huh?”
“Donghu... you’re such a man, seriously.”
WHAM!
CRACKKKK.
“...Huh?”
Kim Donghu’s strength was beyond anything they could’ve imagined.
He didn’t even seem to try. Just a smooth twist of the waist—a light strike to the punching ball...
And the glass of the punching machine # Nоvеlight # shattered from the shock.
“...What?”
Technically, this wasn’t PD Jin Suchang’s fault. Because unless you experienced Kim Donghu’s power firsthand, you couldn’t know how ridiculous it truly was.
Everyone knew he was strong. But it was the kind of strength no one could relate to.
You don’t see people dragging light aircraft. Or competing on Physical 300.  Or punching heavyweight fighters off the ground.
There was nothing to compare him to.
So how could they imagine it?
Until now—
CRACKKK.
Watching the glass shatter, people finally understood:
“What kind of monster is this guy?”
“Wait, these things can even break?”
“Dude, the machine moved back a little...”
You know those punching machines people casually try on the street?
They don’t usually break. Or budge.
“Yeah, maybe let’s not have him hit too hard.”
“Donghu hyung, didn’t you say you could take it?”
“Geunsu, shut up!”
The threat felt real now. Getting hit by this man might kill them.
The members frantically scrambled to strap on body armor.
Getting hit once each? That much was already settled.
Now it was just a matter of surviving it.
“Tighten it down!”
“Wait, wasn’t there supposed to be a gap to absorb shock?”
“Damn, this vest only covers the abs—look at that!”
“I’ve got long legs, that’s why! My torso’s the same!”
“Wait, if he hits you like this... isn’t that kind of a sensitive spot?”
“Whatever, I’ve taken hits before.”
“Who said that?! You’ve been hit? You’re airing your trauma in front of Donghu?!”
And so the chaos continued.
Eventually, they all stood in a line, armored up, facing Kim Donghu.
“...This looks weird as hell.”
“Donghu, were you ever a hall monitor? This is terrifying.”
“I actually did straighten out some kids in middle school.”
“Wait—is that the thing that made headlines? Can we bring that up?”
“It’s all resolved now, so whatever.”
They were chatting coolly, but everyone’s eyes were locked on his fists.
“The gloves are padded, right?”
“Yeah, these are sparring gloves.”
“Still... is my spleen gonna rupture? What kind of content is this, Suchang?”
Just one hit each.
But that one hit felt terrifyingly heavy.
“Alright, I’m gonna hit now?”
“Don’t go too hard! Seriously, gently!”
“Got it. I won’t rotate my hips—just using my arm.”
“Okay, okay!”
WHAM!
BOOM!
THUD!
Sounds that shouldn’t come from inside protective gear rang out in sequence.
Like a scene from an action movie, members of Knowing Bros flew backward one by one.
It looked like someone had broken physics. Like buildings collapsing under a wrecking ball.
The punches shook the armor like it was about to explode.
BAM!
POP!
One by one, they fell.
And the moment it ended—
“PD-nim! You’re up next! You made this segment—you have to experience it too!”
They dragged PD Jin Suchang onto the stage.
“ARGHHHHHHH!”
The whole studio exploded in screams.
***
The Knowing Bros – Kim Donghu Special aired exactly one week before Murcielago’s release.
And the response?
Electric.
[The cast flying from Kim Donghu’s punches...]
“He’s not even human.”
“I love that he went all in for the variety show but those punches, man...”
ㄴ“And he really thought using only his arm would be fine LMAO”
ㄴ“His confused face is hilarious—like ‘Huh? This was fine when I hit Baek Sangha.’”
ㄴ“His baseline for violence is so far off normal.”
ㄴ“‘Why didn’t this one bounce back like the others?’ This toy must be broken.”
ㄴ“He barely rotated his waist and the machine moved. Added just a bit more power and people went flying.”
[Was this for promo or stress relief?]
“Ah yes... I missed the feeling of punching people.”
(GIF of Donghu smirking mid-body shot)
ㄴ“He must be dying to beat Zain Lance’s ass.”
ㄴ“He couldn’t hit a new toy for a while, so...”
ㄴ“And he barely mentioned Murcielago lol”
ㄴ“Maybe three times in 1hr 20min? Dude just came to play.”
[The PD flying across the room was comedy gold]
“Like a middle school kid playing Street Fighter with real fists.”
(GIF of the PD getting body-hooked straight into a mat)
ㄴ“Did they plan to throw him toward the safety mat? LOL”
ㄴ“Should I call that sweet or destructive?”
ㄴ“‘I’ll toss you this way. It’s safer.’”
ㄴ“Classic tsundere.”
[A Hollywood star doing Korean variety—unbelievable.]
“But it’s Kim Donghu, so somehow it just feels familiar lol”
“That’s what makes it awesome.”
“Like if you agree.”
ㄴLikes flood in
ㄴ“Obvious meme potential.”
ㄴ“No surprise there’ll be dozens of articles.”
ㄴ“Okay but when’s the movie finally coming out?”
ㄴ“They’ve been teasing this for nearly two years—I need to see it already.”
[Breaking news: YongAmek opens in 1 hour]
“Highest ticket war in history incoming.”
ㄴ“It was already bad before—now it’s chaos.”
ㄴ“Where’s the best seat? F, G, H?”
ㄴ“Prep now if you want a chance lol”
ㄴ“Tell us!”
ㄴ“Okay~ it’s been shared.”
With just a week left before release,
fans consoled themselves with the Knowing Bros – Kim Donghu episode.
And then—on the day Murcielago hit theaters:
“I took vacation just for this.”
“Nope, not picking up the boss’s call—I’m off.”
“Today, I own this cinema.”
Every major theater in Korea sold out completely.
Even local ones had full seats for decent time slots. People sat down with hearts pounding in anticipation.
Phones off. Anyone daring to light up a screen? Righteous punishment awaited. All eyes locked on the screen.
Rumble...
After 20 minutes of trailers ended, and the Warner Bros. logo faded out...
What they saw first—
“Gotham... a dark and frigid city.”
Was Kim Donghu’s calm, haunting narration.
