Live-in Son-in-law-Chapter 919 920: Sky Demon Spider

Chapter 919

In short, Qin Yi annihilated the Su Family this time, which shocked the entire world.
Those self-important hidden families finally realized they were not invincible.
Qin Yi even released a statement through the Peace Army, demanding the hidden families that secretly manipulate the Guardian Family to cease their control immediately, or face the same fate as the Su Family.
If it had been in the past, the hidden families might have sneered, but this time they had to take it seriously.
Bai Siyin had already identified the Guardian Families associated with the Su Family, and Qin Yi directly ordered them to handle it themselves. If they had harmed the people and the nation, they were to be annihilated.
As for those with a good attitude of confession, their family assets were confiscated, and their Guardian Family titles were revoked.
As for Qin Yi, he had already returned to the Duan Family and was spending his days with his wife and children.
On the surface, Qin Yi seemed to be doing nothing, but his next target was other hidden families.
The hidden families were too powerful, and leaving them would always be a threat.
The cultivation resources brought back from the Su Family were not kept by Qin Yi alone. He kept a small portion for himself and distributed the rest to the members of the Peace Army.
He hoped the Peace Army would grow quickly to become an invincible force.
In fact, Qin Yi had high hopes for the Peace Army. If it weren't for the Heavenly Pit and hidden families, he would have sent the Peace Army to the Secret Realm for training long ago.
He had to arrange everything quickly and then head to the Primordial era; Yiyi had been lying in the ice coffin for too long.
"Husband, what are you thinking about?"
Xia Yanbing pushed the two children in a stroller as she saw Qin Yi lost in thought.
Qin Yi shook his head, "Nothing, I was just thinking about how to celebrate the hundred days of these little ones?"
"Just have dinner with Chairman Liu and the others. It doesn't need to be too extravagant for a child's hundred days."
"That won't do. These are my children, after all. Besides, it's my children's hundred days. Can the gifts they receive possibly be light?"
Xia Yanbing looked at him speechlessly, "Using the children's hundred days celebration to make money, don't you feel bad about it?"
"How can you call it making money? It's called social interaction."
Xia Yanbing rolled her eyes, feeling that her husband's thoughts were indeed peculiar, always seeming like a money-grubber even she couldn't understand.
"By the way, husband, Chairman Liu came by once, saying that the construction on Tiger Roar Mountain is almost finished. When you have time, you should take a look and see if any changes are needed."
Qin Yi was surprised, "Is it finished so quickly?"
"Working day and night, of course, it's fast. Everyone took your matters seriously, including Chairman Liu and the others."
Qin Yi nodded, "Alright, I'll find time to go check it out."
Just then, Qin Yi's phone rang; it was Bai Siyin calling.
"Hey, Bai, what's up?" Qin Yi answered the phone and asked.
"I'm guessing you haven't watched the news lately. Something happened; some cities in Western countries are suddenly shrouded in black fog..."
"Hold on," Qin Yi interrupted Bai Siyin, "Did you say Western countries?"
"Yes."
"What does the black fog appearing in Western countries have to do with us?"
Bai Siyin replied, "Nothing per se, but I thought I should let you know. This black fog is appearing very strangely, and there is something weird about it. Every city shrouded in it becomes a dead city."
Qin Yi frowned, "Dead city? You mean all the people in those cities covered by black fog died?"
"No, they disappeared."
"Disappeared? Where did they go?"
Bai Siyin said, "No one knows, just like vanishing into thin air. Once the black fog disperses, the city is empty. Everything living is gone."
Qin Yi was shocked; such a strange event indeed.
"Now, many Western countries are experiencing this black fog enshrouding cities. I'm worried it might happen to Longxia."
Qin Yi's expression hardened, "Your concern is valid. Deploy more personnel, and inform me immediately if anything like this happens here."
"Understood. I have a video here, and I'll send it to you later."
"Alright."
Qin Yi hung up the phone and soon received the video sent by Bai Siyin.
Qin Yi opened it, and the footage began to play.
The footage showed a steel metropolis, clearly a city in a Western country based on the architecture. At first, nothing seemed abnormal, but suddenly, billows of black fog rapidly spread from the city center in all directions, covering the sky.
In just a few short minutes, the vast city was completely enveloped in black fog, rendering everything invisible.
"Husband, what is this?" Xia Yanbing also watched, and seeing the city swallowed by the black fog, her face paled.
Qin Yi slowly shook his head; the appearance of the black fog was indeed odd, but from watching the video alone, it was impossible to discern what it was.
"I'm going to find the Old Man Azure Dragon; maybe they know what this is."
Qin Yi informed Xia Yanbing and left.
Finding the four Azure Dragons, Qin Yi showed them the video.
"Can you tell what this black fog is?"
The Azure Dragon shook his head slowly, "It's just a video; there's not enough information to determine anything."
"Could it be another creature from the Primordial era?" Xuanwu muttered.
Qin Yi frowned; he was thinking along the same lines.
White Tiger rumbled in a muffled voice, "As long as it's in the Western countries, what does it have to do with us? The more of them dead, the better."
"What if it appears in Longxia? We need to figure out what this is, take precautions, and come up with a response strategy in advance, lest it catches us off guard. Moreover, after the black fog, a thriving city becomes a dead one—how many people would die? We can't allow this to happen."
Azure Dragon nodded, "Qin Yi is right; we need to prepare in advance. Knowing the enemy and ourselves is the key to being victorious in numerous battles."
"Qin Yi."
Qin Yi turned and saw Yun Mengyao approaching swiftly.
"Is there something you need from me?"
"Bingbing just told me about this. I know what it is."
Qin Yi was slightly taken aback and hurriedly asked, "What is it?"
"Sky Demon Spider."
Qin Yi's expression changed slightly; he knew about this creature—a powerful demon. The Sky Demon Spider's strength wasn't in its cultivation level but in its numbers.
The Eye of Righteous and Evil had revealed much to Qin Yi, familiarizing him with the Sky Demon Spider's habits, though he didn't know their origin.
Yun Mengyao said, "The Sky Demon Spider originates from the Primordial era."
Qin Yi smiled wryly; it was just as he guessed.
Yun Mengyao continued, "Despite being a low-level demon, the Sky Demon Spider's advantage lies in its sheer numbers. A single female can lay tens of thousands of eggs, and as long as there's enough nourishment, these eggs can hatch within hours.
The most terrifying part is that once food is sufficient, the newly hatched Sky Demon Spiders can grow to a meter in size within a day, and they are highly venomous. Ordinary people who encounter them have no chance of survival."
Although Qin Yi already knew some of this, he still felt his face change upon hearing Yun Mengyao's explanation.
He also knew that Sky Demon Spiders were impervious to water and fire, their bodies as hard as stone, even bullets couldn't harm them. The venom they carried was strong enough to corrode steel, and an ordinary person's body would be dissolved into a puddle of liquid upon contact with the spider's poison.
