Live-in Son-in-law-Chapter 926 927: Big Brother, I'll Protect You

Chapter 926

A few people discussed it and decided to execute the plan they had agreed upon.
"Everyone, listen up, return to your teams."
Xiahou Jun shouted loudly, and as he shouted, he glanced at Qin Yi in the air. Seeing that there was no reaction from him, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Because all leaders hate their subordinates challenging their authority. Even though Qin Yi never put on airs in front of them, that didn't mean they could be presumptuous.
In fact, they admired and respected Qin Yi more, which was why they followed him loyally.
"Shi Zibo, Lin Nan, Chen Yulong, lead your teams to attack. The rest of you, fall back, seize the time for breathing control, and quickly restore your cultivation to peak state."
Xiahou Jun ordered again.
Qin Yi's mouth curved slightly; these people had finally made progress.
Actually, he didn't want a bunch of wooden planks blindly following orders; he wanted them each to be able to take charge and not rely on him for everything.
"I'll leave this to you guys, I'm going to find Wu Zhao."
As soon as Qin Yi finished speaking, he disappeared before anyone could react.
Everyone was instinctively stunned; Qin Yi's departure made them feel as if they lost their backbone.
When Qin Yi was around, they weren't afraid because no matter how difficult the situation, as long as Qin Yi was there, it could be resolved.
However, Qin Yi's departure meant they could now only rely on themselves.
Without Qin Yi, their combat power actually increased. Because without a crutch, they could only fight desperately.
This was precisely why Qin Yi left; young birds always under wings find it hard to soar one day.
Qin Yi spread out his divine thought, beginning to search for Wu Zhao.
He darted toward the depths of the village.
The entire village was shrouded in black mist, houses destroyed, without a trace of life.
Qin Yi's eyes were icy cold. Although the western countries had fewer people, each city had hundreds of millions of inhabitants. However, after the black mist, all living things disappeared, turning into dead cities. Let alone a small village with just under a thousand people like this one.
When he came, he had thought of all this, but seeing it firsthand was still painful.
How could these simple villagers be guilty of anything? They were all innocent, why should they suffer this calamity?
Ultimately, the cause of all this was him.
If he hadn't opened the passageway connected to the Primordial, these people would still be living in peace, and they wouldn't have died in vain.
Self-blame, regret.
Even though Qin Yi had killed countless people with ruthless decisiveness, he had never killed an innocent person.
Seeing the sky demon spiders running rampant, with all living things vanished in the small village before him, his heart ached like it was being cut with a knife.
No one can understand Qin Yi's feelings until they see the devastation here with their own eyes.
"Boom!"
In rage, Qin Yi needed an outlet to vent. In a frenzy of bombardment, hundreds upon thousands of sky demon spiders were blasted into a bloody pulp.
However, there were too many sky demon spiders here, densely packed, everywhere, making one's skin crawl just looking at them.
After venting for a while, Qin Yi had killed thousands of sky demon spiders.
But he knew that the sky demon spiders couldn't be completely killed this way; he must seal their source.
If he's guessed correctly, the place where the black mist began should have formed a heavenly pit, from which these sky demon spiders crawled out. The pit must be destroyed to completely seal the source and eliminate these disgusting creatures.
But now, he first needed to find Wu Zhao. Even with his Nascent Soul realm cultivation, this guy remained so reckless.
The village wasn't large, and Qin Yi spread out his divine thought to search for Wu Zhao's whereabouts.
"Boom!"
Suddenly, a collapse sound came from not far away.
Qin Yi hurried over in response to the sound.
In front of a low concrete building, Wu Zhao tightly grasped two broken blades in his hands, staring intently at the enormous creature before him.
His clothes were in tatters, covered in blood, with several terrifying wounds where flesh was turned outwards, appearing to fester. His breath was disordered, his face eerily pale from excessive depletion.
Yet, he firmly held onto the two broken blades, standing unyieldingly in front of the gigantic sky demon spider.
Because there were more than a dozen survivors in the low house behind him.
He originally intended to lure this disgusting crawler away, but it was clever, targeting the survivors inside the house. To the crawler, one person wasn't worth as much as a dozen.
In truth, the sky demon spiders were only interested in food, and they could tell the relative weight of one versus a dozen "foods".
Moreover, the human in front was rather troublesome.
Wu Zhao shared the same thoughts as the sky demon spider; he found the crawler in front of him exceedingly difficult to deal with.
Fortunately, with this gigantic crawler present, the smaller ones didn't dare approach; otherwise, he'd truly be overwhelmed.
But now, if he didn't find a way to deal with the crawler in front of him, he wouldn't even be able to protect the survivors behind him, much less save his own life.
"Beast, come on."
Wu Zhao roared, charging madly at the gigantic sky demon spider.
Two broken blades shot forth mid-air.
"Clang!"
One blade struck the steel-like giant spear of its leg, scattering sparks, bouncing off.
Wu Zhao was now too exhausted, and his strikes lacked their previous power.
However, the other broken blade, at a bizarre angle, shot into the eye of the sky demon spider, splattering green ichor, exploding the spider's fist-sized eye.
Pained, the sky demon spider went berserk, raging in place, as its spider legs shattered the ground repeatedly.
Wu Zhao couldn't dodge in time and got hit by a spider leg, which was like a steel giant spear, terrifying with several-centimeter-long barbs.
The barbs pierced into Wu Zhao's body, throwing him back. Who knows how many ribs broke? Worse still, his abdomen was torn open by the barbs, with blood gushing out.
It's over.
Wu Zhao could clearly feel himself completely exhausted.
Yet the instinct to survive made him tightly press the wound on his abdomen, though blood gushed out like not spending money, flowing through his fingers.
"Big brother."
A petite figure darted out from inside the low house, running towards Wu Zhao.
Wu Zhao's heart leapt to his throat, shouting, "Get back inside, don't come over..."
But in his haste to shout, he coughed up a mouthful of blood, preventing him from speaking.
The petite figure was a little girl, whose parents had been eaten by the sky demon spiders. At the last moment, Wu Zhao arrived, slaying the spider, saving her.
However, the small figure reached Wu Zhao, with large eyes filled with fear, staring at Wu Zhao's horrific wounds and blood. She was so scared that she was at a loss, tears flowing.
"Big brother, don't be afraid, I'll protect you."
Wu Zhao felt a sourness in his heart, choked with emotions, at that moment hating himself for his low cultivation.
"Listen to brother, go back inside the house quickly."
For a weak child, facing such a giant sky demon spider, she wouldn't even be enough to fill the gaps in its teeth.
Yet the little girl stubbornly turned around, spreading her arms. Her small body trembled, but didn't retreat an inch, standing before Wu Zhao, yelling at the sky demon spider, "Don't hurt big brother."
