Chapter 52: Second Use
After waiting long enough, Ayane woke up crying, she seemed very sad and it was difficult to calm her down. We spent quite some time with me soothing her, and then I took her to the Magical Girls’ base and waited for the right time.
As soon as the time I deemed necessary arrived, I shot myself in the head, going back in time.
"..." I see that I am in front of the Magical Girls’ base and Ayane is not here, so I ended up going back more or less when I imagined.
There’s still time, she seems to have just left if I’m to judge by my position, so I run inside the Magical Girls’ base instead of trying to find Ayane alone.
"Are you a magical girl?" I stop the first girl I meet and ask since I don’t have much time.
"I am..." When she says she’s a magical girl, I interrupt her.
"Are you an attacker or a supporter?" If she’s a supporter, taking her with me might not be as useful, after all, 3 supporters together is not the best combination.
"Attacker, why are you..." I interrupt her again as soon as she says she’s an attacker.
"No time to explain, I need you to come with me to urgently save someone" I say, pulling her out and transforming into a magical girl. She also transforms and follows me as I start running frantically.
"I’m Lyra Moonveil and I have chain magic, my weapon is a broadsword. Tell me the type of monster" She quickly speaks, demonstrating her experience without asking many questions.
"I’m Setsuna, my weapon is a pistol, I’m a supporter and I shoot magical shots as my magic. The monster is possibly near the Colossal Class, but nothing 100% confirmed."
"The type I’m not sure either, it’s just a pile of humanoid flesh vines" I quickly describe it to her so she can evaluate it.
While she thinks, I briefly look at her. She’s short with medium-sized breasts, and her magical girl uniform is a black and gray dress with black steel plates, while she has blue eyes and long black hair.
And from the weapon she mentioned, I’d say she reminds me of some kind of medieval knight focused on heavier and more brutal strikes.
"Okay, I’ll team up with you for now, but don’t get in my way, just focus on the rescue. I prefer more individual battles since it’s a single monster," she says, but without arrogance, as if it were a fact.
"Sure," I say as I accelerate to get there as quickly as possible. Having help is very useful at the moment. I would have liked to bring someone I know is strong, but time is short.
If my predictions are correct, Ayane will only be found when she has already been kidnapped, but if we’re fast enough, we’ll still be able to find her before she’s raped.
The experience of being kidnapped and being raped are very different, and I think it won’t be a big problem for her to only have the experience of being kidnapped. I have to do well because going back in time again can make everything so bad that I won’t have anything to do.
The two of us continue running in silence, jumping across the buildings. It’s good that she doesn’t ask many questions or try to make conversation, because I don’t want to get distracted in this situation.

"Ugh, l-let me go," I say frightened as I try to break free from the vines of this strange monster. I was going to the market when I was suddenly attacked by this strange thing.
It tied me up and slammed me against a wall with force. I’m even trying my best to break free, but strangely I can’t use my magic and I don’t have the strength to break these vines.
The most I can do is kick things, making small cracks in the spots while the vines cut my arms and legs with small cuts.
I can’t even reach my phone to call for help. I was attacked so suddenly that I couldn’t react well.
And in just a few minutes, I was dragged to an isolated location, the monster carelessly throwing me inside.
"H-Hyaa" The monster releases me, but at the same time, it tears my uniform in the chest area. I let out a little scream while putting one hand in front to protect the chest area, forming a barrier with my hands now that I’m free to use magic, it seems possible.
But I’m still much weaker than the monster, which shatters my barrier with just one punch. But without being intimidated by that, I try again, just like when I saw Setsuna fighting and she wasn’t afraid to hold the monster so I could save two girls.
I form the biggest barrier I can, and with effort, I can move it, pushing everything in its path against the wall, including the monster, which takes some damage.
However, without someone here to help with the attack, it’s difficult for me to do anything on my own. The monster breaks the wall, going outside and reappearing quickly through another wall.
"Gyaaa" It grabs my foot with one of the vines and moves me, slamming my back against a metal beam. The impact is so painful that tears immediately form in my eyes.
But I still try to make a barrier that flickers weakly and is quickly broken by the monster. If I were strong enough, I could lock it in a barrier box and crush it, but I can’t create so many barriers at different angles and move them at the same time.
"Aaaahhh" The monster, without caring about me, moves me again, hitting me against the ceiling and then down, slamming me against the concrete floor. I can’t move properly because of the pain.
And I can only mentally beg for someone to come help me, but with no luck, the monster starts to act now that I’m weaker. Its vines start to wrap around my body, tearing parts of my dress and attaching to me.
I feel a slight pain as cuts appear on my skin while tears stream down my face.
"D-Don’t g-go away" I say weakly, throwing stones at the monster, which doesn’t feel anything from it. I try to crawl away, but I’m pulled back, and I can only feel fear and frustration.
Fear of what will happen to me and frustration at being so weak. Septarion told me that what I lack is more control than magic. He said I have a pretty high amount of magic, but I lack the control to use all that magic.
He said I urgently needed to train this to be able to use the maximum of my powers, but I never imagined I would be attacked before even starting the training.
Now, all I can barely do are flat barriers that aren’t that strong. The monster, ignoring my lamentations and tears, tears my underwear with its vines while making small cuts on my thighs.
Nothing that would leave a scar, as they are extremely superficial, but they are painful.
"Hiiik" I let out a frightened squeak when the monster completely immobilizes me, holding my hands above my head with its vines while spreading my legs.
I see a strange structure rising from the monster’s body as it approaches to insert it into me. My tears increase along with the trembling in my body.

But suddenly, a gunshot is heard, and that strange member of the monster falls off as it lets out a small, strange sound of pain and gets distracted, looking in the direction of the sound.
Gathering all my strength, I make a side barrier, pushing the monster away as its vines are cut by the shots, freeing me, and I am immediately lifted up.
"S-Setsuna" I say happily to be rescued.
"Yes, I came to save you. I felt you were in danger and immediately acted. I’m sorry I was late," she says with a certain sadness, even though she just saved me.
"N-No, it was at the perfect moment," I say with an embarrassed smile, trying to avoid showing my fear. I put my hand in front of my chest to cover the exposed part, while with the other hand I hold the dress, covering my private parts.
"Let’s get out of here," Setsuna says as she starts running, holding me. Seeing her like this, she seems like a real heroine, unlike me, who is weak.
’I need to get stronger,’ I think, taking Setsuna as an inspiration. The monster tries to chase us, but is stopped by a girl holding a large broadsword.
She delivers a blow so strong with the flat of the sword that the monster is pushed against the wall.
"Ayane, we need to retreat from here now, or we’ll only get in the way," Setsuna says, running quickly and jumping between the metal beams, with a high jump she crosses the skylight, protecting me from the glass while she starts running.
"T-That’s not the only monster," I tell her, I felt the presence of more than just this vine monster.
"Yes, I know. I’ve been informed when we got here. I believe it will go after us as the weaker ones, so we need to fight the monster. I’ll need your help to defeat it," Setsuna says, leading with confidence.
"Y-Yes... t-thank you for saving me," I say with immense gratitude.
"Don’t worry about it, I should have come sooner," she only says this as if she had failed in her duty, even though I am now saved from what was going to happen to me.
I feel the second monster that remained hidden following us. Setsuna also seems to have noticed it while changing the route. I just take a deep breath, gathering the courage to help Setsuna in the fight.
