Chapter 921: Chapter 921: Cheng Yanxi’s Call
Ji Yunhuan was already unhappy. Qi Cheng’s extra words with Cheng Yanxi made her feel uncomfortable. However, seeing Qi Cheng’s attitude towards Cheng Yanxi, she realized that Qi Cheng was already trying his best.
Ji Yunhuan said, "I’m not angry."
It was clear that Qi Cheng was already making efforts to consider her feelings, so she couldn’t be too unreasonable.
"That’s good." Qi Cheng looked at Ji Yunhuan with relief, fearing he might have done something to upset her.
Ji Yunhuan got out of bed and lazily walked to the bathroom, "I’m going to wash my face."
Qi Cheng watched her back and stood there in a daze for a moment until someone knocked on the door. He opened it and saw Ruirui standing at the door, "Daddy."
Perhaps because of Ji Yunhuan’s influence, he now felt much closer to Ruirui. He reached out to hold Ruirui in his arms after the servant had helped Ruirui get dressed.
Qi Cheng looked at the little bundle in his arms, "Call me again."
"Daddy." Ruirui obediently repeated, feeling this daddy was so strange because Qi Cheng hadn’t always been interested when Ruirui called him before.
Qi Cheng gazed at Ruirui, thinking that this little guy was his and Ji Yunhuan’s child, a sense of accomplishment welled up inside him.
Ji Yunhuan came out of the room and saw Qi Cheng holding Ruirui in his arms, studying him repeatedly. He seemed not yet to accept the reality that he had such a big son, finding it very novel.
"What’s wrong? Something amiss?" Ji Yunhuan asked in confusion.
"Is he really my son?" Qi Cheng asked uncertainly.
Ji Yunhuan’s face darkened, "What are you talking about?"
Though she knew he didn’t mean anything else, it just sounded strange!
Qi Cheng’s gaze focused on Ruirui, "I just didn’t expect that I would have such a big son; it’s too amazing."
"Let’s go down for breakfast; it’s time." Ji Yunhuan reached out, taking Ruirui over, "I’ll carry him."
"It’s okay if I carry him too."
"No, I don’t want you to be too tired." Ji Yunhuan glanced at Qi Cheng, "Is your body feeling uncomfortable?"
"No." He shook his head.
But Ji Yunhuan still thought of Qi Cheng as a patient.
When they reached downstairs, the relatively independent Yangyang had already come down. Ji Yunhuan placed Ruirui beside Yangyang, greeted everyone in the dining room, and her phone rang.
"You all eat first; don’t mind me."
Ji Yunhuan took out her phone, glanced at it, and unexpectedly found it was Cheng Yanxi calling.
She pressed the call button and answered, restrainedly asking, "What’s up?"
"Qi Cheng is with you, right?" Qi Cheng didn’t hide from Cheng Yanxi when he went to find Ji Yunhuan.
Ji Yunhuan looked at Qi Cheng sitting at the dining table. He was still studying the fact that he had a son. Ji Yunhuan nodded, saying to Cheng Yanxi, "Yes, what’s wrong?"
It seemed she didn’t need to hide it. She didn’t feel that being with Qi Cheng was anything inappropriate.
"He went without a doctor accompanying him. Remember to let him take care of his health. Don’t let him get too tired."
This parent-like tone was truly annoying.
Ji Yunhuan disliked Cheng Yanxi, making her feel like the master of Qi Cheng, which made Ji Yunhuan feel her dignity was seriously damaged.
She replied coldly, "I’ll keep an eye on him."
Of course, she paid attention to Qi Cheng at all times because she wished for Qi Cheng’s health and safety more than anyone, not just Cheng Yanxi caring about Qi Cheng!
"Whose call was it?" After hanging up, Aunt asked.
Ji Yunhuan replied, "A friend." Ji Yunhuan smiled and glanced at Qi Cheng, not intending to elaborate.
After breakfast, Ji Yunhuan took Qi Cheng to the Qi Family, which was also the first time Aunt Bai met Qi Cheng since he returned.
During the time Qi Cheng was away, they’d been concerned about him, and the Bai Family had been making efforts to find him.
"No matter what, it’s good you’ve come back." Aunt Bai said.
"Yes! When you weren’t around, Sister Yunhuan worried about you a lot." Gu You said too.
Facing the relationships with these strangers, Qi Cheng seemed a bit helpless, even though Ji Yunhuan had already introduced everyone’s relationship to him. Qi Cheng was still not quite accustomed.
On the way back from the Bai Family, Qi Cheng asked, "Are they Bai Liyan’s family?"
"Hmm, what’s up?" Ji Yunhuan looked at him, not expecting he would care about Bai Liyan at this moment.
"I don’t like Bai Liyan." Qi Cheng frowned and said.
"Uh..." Hearing him say that, Ji Yunhuan felt puzzled, "Why? Bai Liyan hasn’t done anything to you! He’s very caring about you, and he is your best friend. During the time you weren’t here, he put in the most effort."
If it weren’t for Bai Liyan, Ji Yunhuan didn’t know how Xia Duo and Zhou Yixiu would have bullied her.
Qi Cheng knew none of this. He frowned and said, "Anyway, I don’t like him."
It was all because of Yangyang’s new dad comment that made him have such hostility towards Bai Liyan.
Ji Yunhuan took Qi Cheng to a restaurant they had visited before; she wanted to take Qi Cheng to familiar places, hoping he might remember something.
This restaurant was a place Qi Cheng and Ji Yunhuan had visited before.
Ji Yunhuan, staying by Qi Cheng’s side, asked him, "Do you remember this place?"
Qi Cheng surveyed the surroundings and shook his head, "I don’t remember."
Seeing his bewildered expression, Ji Yunhuan felt a little disappointed. If things continued like this, it seemed Qi Cheng would never remember.
Ji Yunhuan said, "We used to eat here. It’s okay if you don’t remember; you’ll recall it in the future."
"Oh."
Qi Cheng surveyed the area, also trying to find a shred of memory.
"Qi Cheng." Suddenly, a familiar voice came over. Ji Yunhuan looked at the visitor and surprisingly saw Zhou Jinlian. She had heard that Zhou Jinlian became the heir of the Zhou Family because of this incident. She hadn’t expected to see him here.
Zhou Jinlian walked over and looked at Ji Yunhuan, "Sister-in-law."
He always greeted her so politely that Ji Yunhuan actually found it quite uncomfortable.
Qi Cheng looked at Zhou Jinlian blankly. He didn’t even remember his closest people, so obviously he wouldn’t remember Zhou Jinlian, with whom he only had a business relationship.
Ji Yunhuan introduced them to Qi Cheng, "This is Zhou Er Shao, you used to work together."
"Oh."
Zhou Jinlian looked at Qi Cheng with concern, "Mr. Qi doesn’t remember me now?"
"He lost his memory." Ji Yunhuan explained for Qi Cheng, "He has lost his memory, so he doesn’t recognize people. Sorry for the inconvenience."
Zhou Jinlian’s gaze was filled with regret, "That doesn’t affect, right? What did the doctors say? Or should I contact a doctor for you?"
"Thank you for your kindness, Zhou Er Shao, but it’s not necessary." Although Zhou Jinlian didn’t offend her, Ji Yunhuan had no good impression of the Zhou family.
