Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers-Chapter 319: JUMP and DIE

Chapter 319

Chapter 319: JUMP and DIE
(Author’s POV)
"Take your medicine on time. Don’t skip any," Amy uttered, her voice filled with concern. Myra nodded for the nth time as they were nearing the university’s main gate. Amy then added, "And don’t forget to wear something warm. The weather has been quite on and off in Esteria."
Wendy giggled at her words.
Puzzled, Amy inquired, "Why are you laughing, Wendy?"
Clearing her throat, Wendy commented, "Hahaha~ ... Nothing. I was just thinking, the doctor at the hospital~ ...... I get why he mistook Mrs. Garcia for our mother. You sound just like our mom right now. I guess mothers are all the same everywhere. They are all cut from the same fabric. Too much worrisome."
"Wendy~ ......?" Myra glared at her from the front mirror. Seeing her expression, Wendy brought her fingers to her lips and made a ’zipped it’ gesture.
"Mrs. Garcia. Please don’t mind her words," Myra turned to face Amy. "She just speaks too much."
"She didn’t say anything wrong, so why apologize. Mothers are all cut from the same fabric, be it me or Mrs. Miracle. We all worry about our children’s health. Anyway~ ..... don’t forget my words and take your meds according to the prescription."
"I will," Myra nodded again. As they entered the gate, Myra said, "You can drop us off here."
"Why? Harris will drive you to your house," Amy insisted.
"But~" Myra was about to say something, but Amy added, "Myra, can I ask you one thing?"
"Why not, sure. Please go ahead and ask away," Myra gave her the green signal.
"Am I making you feel uncomfortable? Are you feeling burdened because of my actions?" Amy had seen right through her. Then she clarified, "I swear, I have no ulterior motive. I just like you and you resemble my daughter, so that’s why~ ..." Her shoulders drooped as she made a pitiful face.
Myra was a bit taken aback by her upfrontness. She chewed at her lips, not knowing how to respond to that initially. She then said, "Ma’am, I won’t be lying to you. I do feel a bit uncomfortable, but it’s not because of you. Actually, we only met yesterday, and we don’t know much about each other, so it is normal to feel that way. Isn’t it?"
"Of course, I understand. For this, I have a solution," Amy said. "Seb, I mean, Sebastian and I are in Esteria for a few more days. We should get to know each other then."
Before Myra could say anything on this, Wendy exclaimed, "Ohh~ we are home already. What~ .... Why is Professor Stephens here?"
Myra got distracted and shifted her attention towards Fabian, who was standing outside her house with Yelena, as those two seemed to be in a deep conversation.
The vehicle stopped right in front of them, getting their attention. Wendy stepped out, followed by Myra, as the former asked, "What are you guys doing outside?"
They both were quite surprised to see Wendy and Myra stepping out of a Mercedes Benz S-class. Apart from them, the Miracle girls weren’t that close to anyone. Yelena was the first to ask, "How did you guys come out of that?" She pointed to the car, her eyes narrowing in puzzlement.
At this moment, Amy stepped out of the car and said, "They were with me."
Yelena didn’t know her, but Fabian did. His eyes narrowed seeing her, but he quickly recovered from that and stepped toward Amy, "Mrs. Garcia, pleasure to meet you. What are you doing here? I didn’t know you and Ms. Miracle knew each other?"
"We just met yesterday and hit it off. I guess I should thank you, Prof. Stephens. After all, the seminar was organized by you," Amy said with a smile. She was about to say something more, but her phone started buzzing. She gazed at it to find it was Sebastian’s call. Pressing her lips together, Amy uttered, "My husband’s calling. I guess this is my cue." She then looked at her bodyguard, who, on her signal, extended his hand to give Myra a fancy paper bag.
"What is it, ma’am?" Myra asked.
"You said your phone got damaged yesterday, so I asked Harris to buy you a new one," Amy said in delight.
Myra immediately gave the bag back to Amy, saying, "Mrs. Garcia, I can’t accept it. It is too much."
But Amy didn’t take it and pushed it back, "You agreed to help me write. Think of this as a repayment." She didn’t let Myra decline her again and continued, "I will give you a call. I need to leave now. And~ .... Remember to take your medicine." Saying her piece, Amy settled in the car, and the vehicle zoomed off.
"What was that?" Yelena was confused. Then, realizing something, she asked, "Are you sick, Myra? What medicine was she talking about?"
Fabian got worried as well. Without thinking, he held Myra by the shoulder and started checking on her, touching her forehead, "What happened?"
"It’s just a little cold and sore throat. Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill," Myra remarked.
"We shouldn’t have gone to the beach. It’s all my fault. I wasn’t being careful enough," Fabian started blaming himself.
Myra rubbed her forehead and sighed, "Fabian, I insisted on going there. So don’t beat yourself." She then changed the topic, asking, "By the way, why were you both standing here?" Her attention turned towards Yelena as she noticed something off with her appearance, "Yel, why are your eyes swollen? Did you cry?"
Both Fabian and Yelena’s breaths hitched at her question as Yelena came up with an excuse, "Ohh that~ ... I was watching a series on my phone. The female lead caught her boyfriend cheating and was heartbroken. I got a little emotional. Hahaha~ ....."
Although Myra was skeptical of her answer but she did not push it. Yelena then continued, "What are we standing here for? Let’s go inside. Fabby, didn’t you have work to do? You can go." She shooed him away.
Though Fabian didn’t want to go just yet, he actually had pending work to do, and also, Gunnar was waiting for him in his office to give him the he had asked for. So, he conceded, "Okay, ladies, I will get going. And Myra~ .... Get well. I will see you then." Saying this, he departed as well.
The girls walked inside the house, as Sandra and William were getting ready and about to go for their evening shift.
Seeing them back, William called out to Sandra, "Honey~ .... the girls are home."
Sandra came out as well. When she saw her daughters, an expression of relief flashed over her face. Clearing her throat, she said, "Your father and I have prepared dinner already. You just need to heat it." She then smacked William’s back lightly, "Tie up your shoes fast. We are getting late for work."
"On it, Mrs. Miracle," William spoke.
After Willian had tied his shoes, Sandra walked over to her daughters, kissed their foreheads and murmured, "Glad you are back." Then, the couple made their way out.
Wendy and Myra were confused by the sudden kiss. Usually, Sandra wouldn’t do something like that. Yelena then brought them out of their thoughts as she commented, "Spill the beans. Why were you guys with Mrs. Garcia?"
Myra explained everything to her in detail. About yesterday and today as well. Yelena nodded in understanding, "Ohh~ .... I heard she was a kind and gentle person. She must have taken a fancy to you."
"Right? I think that as well," Wendy added. "Though she is kind and gentle but at times, she is the total opposite, like a sassy boss lady." She started praising her.
Just like that, the day went by, and it was time to call it a day.
Myra took a warm shower and settled in her bed. She then glanced around her now clean room and recalled the mess she had seen in the morning. Though she tried hard to remember what had happened last night, but couldn’t. Not stressing too much about it, she closed her eyes. It had been a long and tiresome day for her, so sleep came almost instantly to her.

"No~ ... no~ ... do~n’t, don’t com~e clo~se. Le~ leav~e ... me~ .... alo~ne," Myra mumbled in her sleep. She was experiencing another one of those nightmares. The dark figure was chasing after her relentlessly, and it had finally had her cornered. She was warning it, not to touch or come any closer, but it didn’t back down.
Myra tried to scream or shout for help, but there was no one around, nor was there any escape route. The place was a foreign space, she had never seen before. She was on the edge of a cliff as the darkness approached her slowly. She warned, her voice trembling, "If you don’t stop, I will jump right now."
A devilish laughter echoed around her as several voices erupted, urging her,
"JUMP .... JUMP ... JUMP ... JUMP ..."
She pursed her lips and said, "Do you think I am joking? I will really jump and die."
The voices didn’t stop. Instead, they intensified, earsplittingly,
"JUMP .... JUMP ..... JUMP ... JUMP ..." "DIE ... DIE .... DIE ... DIE."
To Be Continued . . . . . . .
