Chapter 334: Romance In Her Dream, Danger In Her Room
(Author’s POV)
At the stroke of three, the prominent hour for the evils to rise, amid all that was happening in the outer world, all the plotting and chaos, Myra slept peacefully.
The comforting look on her face contrasted with the wrinkled, furrowed face she always made during a ghastly nightmare. And that was because she wasn’t having one. Instead, she was having a rather pleasant dream.
In that dream, the place was brightly lit, filled with endless vibrant ’baby blue eyes’ flowers, mirroring the skies above. Amidst the sea of nemophilas, a vast and majestic banyan tree was rooted.
The cool, subtle breeze that touched her skin was comforting and rejuvenating, scintillating, making her feel alive.
But what made her feel her heart even fuller was the presence of someone special. The person who was seated next to her on the flower bed. Although his face was not clear, but his soothing, deep voice made her feel butterflies in her stomach. They were prancing around, jumping and somersaulting, making her feel giddy.
"So, did you like this place?" he uttered, his voice magnetic. There was a slight hesitation in his voice as he waited for Myra’s answer in anticipation.
"It’s~ .... breathtaking. How did you find it?" she asked, her voice filled with a peculiar zing as she looked around and breathed the fresh air in.
As Myra finished her words, the person took her hand and intertwined his fingers with hers gently. This action of his made Myra blush instantly. Her face turned red as a tomato.
He started, "I~ .... I was searching for the ideal spot for our first date and luckily~ ... I stumbled upon here." He told her while caressing the dorsal side of her hand with his thumb, "When I first came across it, I felt serene and peaceful. And then, in that instant, I knew this place was perfect for us to spend some time together, alone."
Myra’s eyes blinked quickly in reaction to his words, particularly upon hearing how much effort he had dedicated to their first date. She just couldn’t help herself and gazed at him with heart in her eyes, seemingly dazed.
With his other hand, he snapped his fingers in front of her and asked, "What are you thinking? You seem distracted. Am I that boring to you, huhh?"
"Ohh no~ .... Not at all. I was just thinking how lucky I am that I met you. I am moved by your thoughtfulness," Myra told him truthfully as she looked him in the eye and beamed at him.
A faint smile crept up on the person’s face as well at her remark as he muttered, "Aye~ hey~ .... I am the lucky one here. Or should I say~ .... It is our fate, our destiny, crafted by the moon goddess that brought us together. I can’t stop thanking her for giving me such a kindhearted, down to earth and beautiful mate. I couldn’t have asked for more," saying this, he brushed the tip of Myra’s nose with his fingers.
"Mate?" Myra questioned. This word, alien yet familiar, was ringing a bell inside her head. But, in that moment, she couldn’t quite recall where she had heard it.
"Yes, mates. You are my mate, and I am yours,
for an eternity
," he said it more to himself than to her as he made a promise as he leaned his face closer and closer until their lips were just centimetres apart. As he exhaled, his breath fanned at her nose, reaching her lips. She became conscious, and her whole body went rigid.

When Myra was busy in her dream world, having her romantic moment. Inside her room, there was an unknown intrusion. The window that was tightly shut by William himself was now wide open as a person entered like a gust of wind in an all black devil like attire. Half of their face was concealed by a metal mask embedded with black and silver gemstones.
The person stood inside Myra’s room, giving it a once over and sneered, "Penurious, tskkkk~" Then they laid their eyes on where the owner was sleeping. Looking in that direction, they chewed their lower lip sexily, followed it by licking their upper lip, "Ohh~ hello there, baby. We~ meet again."
They took steady, decisive steps in her direction. "Ohhoo~ ... sleeping so calmly, aren’t we, sweetheart?" The mysterious figure traced Myra’s sleeping face with their sharp and shiny raven painted nails. A creepy, eerily sinister smile crept on that person’s lips as they added with an alluring tone, "How adorable. But~ .... I~ .... am not liking it. This peace~ .... this calm~ .... This serenity~ .... ~it doesn’t suit you, darling. You are best suited for chaos." They whispered near her ear, which was followed by a carefree laugh, "Pffftthahaha~ ... so, should we do something to make things, right, umm~ My~ra? Let’s set things in order. For the sake of the greater good. Ohh~ .... I mean~ greater bad."
Crackling their knuckles, they extended their right hand and approached Myra, their eyes turning sparkling gold with a rare glint. But when their hand was just brushing her neckline, they heard not very heavy footsteps outside Myra’s door.
Their hand stopped midway as they stood up and hid in a dark corner.
The next second, the door clicked open, and with small, almost faint steps, Yelena came in. She didn’t switch on the lights and just quietly made her way towards Myra’s bed. She has been feeling guilty thinking about the alcohol situation and how frequent Myra’s nightmares have been, so she just wanted to make sure that her friend was alright.
When she looked at Myra sleeping like a baby, she exhaled a heavy sigh in relief, "I guess I was just feeling tense for nothing." After checking up on her, she turned around and was about to return back to her room, but halted her steps when she noticed something odd.
Her brows knitted as she tilted her head and noticed the window was wide open. She then muttered under her breath, "Didn’t Uncle William close it earlier?" The image of William shutting the window flashed inside her head.
She instantly became alert and walked towards the window. Feeling the wind, she thought, ’The wind isn’t strong today. And~ .... Myra~ .... She is too out of it to open it.’ She then recalled Myra’s words from last night. Her frantic face, her erratic breathing and her striking words echoed in her mind, ’Is there someone in her room. An intruder?’ Her eyes widened in horror as she couldn’t help but gasp. But she immediately pressed her lips, controlling herself. With an expressionless face, she was about to close the window, but stopped midway. Then she twirled around and walked to the empty side of the bed and settled. With a heavy, exhausting yawn, she mumbled, loud enough for the other person to hear, "So tiring, I guess I will sleep in your room tonight."
Then she slid inside the covers and closed her eyes, pretending to sleep. After a second or two, she peeked narrowly, her eyes fixated on the window as she watched carefully.
"Tskkkk~ ... I guess tonight I will have to go empty handed," the dark figure clicked his tongue, and with a swing of his hand, he turned into wind and went out of the window, just the way he came in.
The action was too quick for Yelena to see anything. She kept her eyes on the window without blinking, afraid to miss anything, but even after fifteen minutes, half an hour, or even an hour, there wasn’t any sign of intrusion. But she didn’t give up.

"Did you sleep well, Myra?" Sandra asked when she and William saw Myra and Yelena descending from the stairs.
"Ummhmm~ ...." Myra nodded.
Wendy’s gasp caught everyone off guard as she asked, "Yel sis, why do you look like a freaking panda? What happened?"
Yelena was dead tired. Her eyes had bags under them. She hadn’t slept a wink, gatekeeping, or rather~ ... window keeping the entire fucking time, until morning. She rubbed her eyes and mumbled, her voice came out gravelly, "Couldn’t really sleep~"
Sandra approached, her face laced with raw concern, "Did you have a nightmare, dear?"
"Nups~ .... Aunt Sandy. I have an assignment to submit, and I was just working on that," she had no choice but to lie.
"Assignment? Then how did you end up in my room?" Myra asked with a puzzled expression.
"AFTER~ .... working on it. I went to your room to sleep," Yelena explained, as she covered her lie up.
When Myra was in a half unconscious state, she felt someone’s presence by her side. As she opened her eyes, she found Yelena staring in a certain direction. She called out, "Yel~ .... Yel~ ...." But Yelena didn’t respond, nor did she blink.
Myra became instantly worried and inquired as she shook her, "Yelena, are you alright?"
Yelena finally snapped back from her dazed state. As she glanced at Myra with a ragged, beaten face.
