Chapter 370: Don’t Let Young Master Out
(Author’s POV)
"It must be on the back seat, why?" Yelena asked while starting the car. Myra pursed her lips and said, "It isn’t here."
Yelena smacked her forehead, recalling, "Ohh yeah~ ... I remember now. You kept it on the table, inside the hospital room. Must have forgotten to pick up in all that drama."
Myra recollected the moment as well.
They have already covered a lot of distance from the hospital. If they were to go back there and then return to Red Stone, it would eat up a lot of their time. The peak traffic hours wouldn’t help their case either.
Seeing that Yelena was about turn back, Myra spoke first, "It’s okay. We can make a call and ask them to keep it safe and pick it up another time." She was already worried for Yelena, as the latter had barely slept.
"But isn’t that Aunt Sandra’s favourite lunch box?" Yelena remarked. The teal lunch box was a gift from Sandra to William. She had handcrafted the outer layer with delicate colors and floral patterns herself. You could say~ .... it was one of a kind.
After much contemplation, Myra uttered, "I will explain to mom."

Inside the Larson mansion, after the call ended, Chris remained rooted to his spot. When Yelena told him her name, he instantly knew who she was. After all, .... he was getting all the updates from Gunnar.
He was aware of the fact that she had spent a night tending to his young master at the hospital. That is why, out of basic courtesy, he said that to her. Otherwise, if it were someone else, he would have straightaway ended the call.
"Secretary Shadow? Secretary~ ...." Someone’s voice interrupted his thoughts. He turned around and said, "Yes, Dr. Maxwell. How is young master coping now?"
"He is running a fever, currently 105°F. Although I have given him the fever reducers as well as the painkiller for his arm wound, you need to be extra careful. Stress and tension may worsen his condition, so my advice is to avoid any topic that could cause that," Dr. Hale Maxwell stated.
Chris nodded in understanding, glancing at Fabian, who resembled a plain white paper sheet, thin and pale.
"I will be taking my leave now. If anything happens, give me a call. I will be at the infirmary," with that Dr. Maxwell exited the scene. The moment the door closed with a click, Chris called out, "Gunnar~"
Gunnar, who has been waiting for orders, stepped out of the shadow, "Yes, Secretary Shadow."
".... I have~ .... a task for you," Chris spoke, his voice eerily calm.
"Give me the orders," Gunnar uttered, his head lowered.
"I will be going away for two days. In my absence, you will need to handle the situation here. Can you do it?" Chris questioned, eyeing him observantly.
Gunnar was quick with his response, "I will do as you say, Secretary."
"Good. Do make sure, young master, stays in his room. And if he asks anything about the master~ ...." He paused, licking his lower lip while thoughts swirled inside his head. "Tell him that his condition is improving and I have gone to retrieve a herb required for the healing ritual to get completely."
Gunnar gave a brief nod.
Chris was about to depart when he recalled something of extreme importance, "And yes~ .... By no means and under no circumstances should young master enter the master’s room. Is that crystal clear?"
Gunnar answered in the affirmative, though he knew it was going to be a tedious task with a person as stubborn as Fabian. Something has been weighing on his mind. When Chris was about to step out, he couldn’t help but ask, "What about the master?"
Gunnar was worried that if Chris left and something were to happen to Jacob in his absence. After all, even within their own clan, few people can’t be trusted.
"Don’t worry, I will make arrangements accordingly. And I trust Ms. Hector on this. She won’t let anything happen to the master," Chris was confident. No matter how rude she was, Iris Hector was an exemplary healer, earning her senior healer title on her own merit. Plus, her allegiance was bound to Jacob. She would never try to harm him in any way. But to be safe, Chris had thought of stationing more of Jacob’s men to counter any mishap and also ask the Everests’ siblings for their help once again.
Though he already knew it was shameless of him, desperate times, desperate measures, right? He would do anything to ensure the current and future safety of the Larson house.

"Al, how is Prof. Stephens now?" Brave, when he saw Alaric had returned, inquired.
"He~ .... When I arrived, he had already been discharged," Alaric stated casually.
"Discharged? That early. Don’t these hospitals keep such patients under observation for twenty four hours?" Brave commented with a confused expression.
"How would I know about that?" Alaric was fast with his reply.
"Ohhkiezzz." ’Why is he getting so defensive~ ....’ Brave mumbled. He then asked, "What did you do with those flowers and fruits?"
"Donated it," Alaric said while stepping lazily towards his room. Brave then noticed his hands weren’t completely empty, "What’s with that strange lunch box?"
Alaric stopped midstep but didn’t turn around and speak, her voice filled with nonchalance, "Was getting tired of eating at the hotel all the time. So, I bought something else for myself."
Listening to his statement, Brave’s eyebrows were ready to touch the roof. The first half he understood, but the second was something he had never heard from Alaric’s mouth.
Yes, Alaric was a picky eater and choosy at times, but seeing that extraordinary box in his hand, Brave couldn’t help but think something was wrong with Alaric. With his discreet sight, he could tell that the slightly worn out lunch box wasn’t from a high end restaurant. And someone like Alaric, who was used to having premium, gourmet delicacies made by Michelin chefs, this uncharacteristic move made his twin suspicious and rightfully so.
Alaric didn’t give Brave any chance to ask more questions as he returned to his room and sealed the door shut.
