I originally thought my cheat ability was only foreknowledge, but now I finally discovered my true cheat ability—I likely possess a portion of the Observer's authority.
I just had Mirrorheart try it too. Even after she recited the name, I could still see Mirrorheart, no matter where she was.
It's just that if multiple people recited it simultaneously, my perspective would become very chaotic. But after I experimented for a while, I could control the perspective quite well.
I know the usage of this ability isn't this simple; there are more applications I haven't developed yet.
As for why I have this ability, I didn't dwell on it too much. I just think my transmigration is probably related to this Perpetual Observer, but I'm not clear on his specific purpose.
But as long as he can give me enough benefits, I wouldn't mind actually helping him do something. Perhaps the Perpetual Observer's goal is for me to deal with the gods.
My previous immunity to corruption might also be related to the Perpetual Observer. His authority includes "Reason."
I called for Scarlett and took out all the props that might be useful. Tonight, I'm determined to grind out something worthwhile.
...
"Hahaha, this Daoist Master has succeeded!"
My sudden loud shout startled the Nightingale in its cage. Then the Nightingale watched as I, holding a necklace, hurriedly ran out of the bedroom.
Apart from Mirrorheart, who was already up making breakfast, Naclis was also awakened by my voice. Still wearing her black gauze nightgown, she rubbed her eyes and walked out of the bedroom.
"What happened, Master Mentor?"
I directly handed the necklace in my hand to Naclis. While she examined the necklace, I began explaining its use to her:
"I'm tentatively calling this the [Abyssal Gaze Eye]. As long as you wear this, I can see you no matter where you are. Not only that, it can also function as a ward. I only managed to make one. Since you came out first, you get it first."
Anna and Scarlett were probably still sleeping now. Their usual waking time isn't much earlier than mine, and I stayed up all night.
"To be watched by you at all times?"
Naclis's face flushed slightly. She didn't pay attention to what I blurted out about the ward. She put the necklace on herself. The necklace was very plain, just a silver-white inverted cross with an eye-like ruby in the center. Some tiny runes were engraved on the inverted cross.
This was the result of my research all night. The materials weren't that complicated, actually. The inverted cross was ordinary silver, but the gem was more troublesome. I used Abyssal Sea Crystal, dyed it red with my own blood, and then dripped my tears on it—they had to be tears from that black eye.
I suspect it's not strictly necessary to use Abyssal Sea Crystal; similar gems should work. But this was the only type I had here. Even so, I didn't have much. At most, I could only make two more.
Abyssal Sea Crystal is a gem that only appears in the deep sea, extremely difficult to mine. Moreover, its formation requires a vast amount of time, so I speculate it needs the characteristic of "antiquity" to be usable.
After giving the necklace to Naclis, I returned to the bedroom intending to go back to sleep. I had already tested the Abyssal Gaze Eye's effect last night. Even when Gwen took it deep underground, I could still see Gwen.
That wasn't the main point. I discovered a terrifying application. When using the Tarot Card: The Tower, one loses the five senses. When Gwen used it, I also lost the shared vision. But with the Abyssal Gaze Eye, it's different. From now on, Gwen can use The Tower without any reservations.
...
As usual, I woke up at noon. Due to staying up all night, I was exceptionally tired, so much so that when Mirrorheart woke me, I was still groggy:
"Go help me sign in for attendance, and bring me some lunch while you're at it..."
Mirrorheart, beside me, suddenly replied:
"If I get caught signing in for you, we'll both have to write self-criticisms."
"Holy crap!"
Hearing Mirrorheart's words, I jolted awake, then immediately realized I had already been transmigrated for twelve years.
"..."
Anyway, I transmigrated with my body, so I don't need to pretend. Even if my identity as a transmigrator was exposed, it wouldn't be a big deal. Besides, there are schools here too, so my earlier words wouldn't reveal anything.
"The Headmaster has already come looking for you. He waited for you for a long time but didn't see you wake up. In the end, he told you to go to the academy to find him."
"Alright."
I responded and walked out of the room. I originally planned to ask for leave, but since the Headmaster wants to see me, I'd better go.
At the dining table, I took a sip of milk. Like yesterday's, the milk tasted a bit off.
"What's up with this milk?"
I casually grabbed Anna's cup beside me and took a sip. Anna's milk was perfectly normal. Instantly, I had a terrifying guess.
(Censored)
"Holy crap!"
Although I already had a guess, when the guess became reality, I still couldn't quite hold it together. However, I immediately thought of another terrifying thing: we hadn't taken any precautions before. I thought there would be reproductive isolation...
"You don't need to worry. My body is completely under my control. This sort of thing is a piece of cake. There's no need to get preg..."
I shoved the cup against Mirrorheart's mouth to make her stop talking. Back when I sacrificed an arm to Pluto, it didn't make me break out in a cold sweat like I am now.
"I'm leaving first. The Headmaster is waiting for me..."
I quickly fled this troublesome place. Although I'm raising two daughters, it doesn't mean I actually want to have children. Even if I were to have them, it would have to wait until things are stable. Who knows when the Divine War might actually break out.
"I'm going too."
Anna went with me yesterday. Today, Naclis also wants to go to school with me. Naclis is indeed much more studious than Anna. She has basically learned all the magic I taught her before. It's normal for her to want to go to school.
"You also want to see what Luna looks like... Mmmph..."
Naclis promptly stuffed bread into Anna's mouth and silently followed behind me without another word.
Actually, I can see Naclis's possessiveness towards me and can understand that kind of thinking, so I didn't pay too much attention to it.
It was just after school ended. The students on the road were walking noticeably faster. No need to guess; many people must have been attacked last night.
Those empowered by Ligoss are elusive. Anyone passing by could suddenly turn violent at any moment. The Church doesn't have a good prevention method. Without a doubt, the Headmaster would discuss this issue with me today.
I know the Headmaster doesn't truly care about these lives. He privately researches Crimson Magic too. The number of people who have died because of him is certainly greater than those who died recently. It's just that the people who died recently have different social status.
