Miss Witch’s Devotion Has Gone… Twisted-Chapter 61: The Storm Is Brewing

Chapter 61

That evening, it was Loren who escorted Luna back. They were seen by patrolling guards on the way, but no one suspected Loren. He had been with the King the entire time.
As for that female student, they simply assumed Loren was giving her extra tutoring in the evening. After all, Loren was indeed a teacher at the Gedlan Royal Magic Academy, so tutoring a student was normal.
"Goodbye, Master Mentor..."
At the moment of parting, Luna kept clutching her skirt hem, her head bowed even as she bid farewell.
This school uniform fit perfectly, and Luna couldn't help but feel a warmth in her heart. She had imagined many scenarios. Although Loren hadn't said anything, Luna believed he had seen her shabby uniform and specially commissioned someone to make this one just for her, only formally handing it over today.
"Master Mentor, you are welcome to visit anytime."
Luna's parents were extremely excited to see Loren. During this time, they had also looked into Loren's identity, and only then did they understand the true weight of his title "Master Mentor." They also felt honored that their daughter had managed to build a good relationship with Loren, and they treated him with much more eagerness and attentiveness.
"Mm, goodbye."
Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night. After this incident, the authorities had completely fallen out with Luna. From now on, they could not only no longer ambush her, but Luna would also never help them again.
Whether it was the King, the Pope, or the Headmaster, they were all too worried to sleep, but this did not affect Loren sleeping soundly.
The next day at noon, before Loren woke up, the King was already waiting outside. However, this time the King arrived close to noon;
he had already learned Loren's sleep schedule.
"Master Mentor, what should we do next?"
That night, the King had also learned of Luna's true strength. With her power, killing the King truly wouldn't be difficult. There weren't many in the entire kingdom stronger than Luna, and none of those were people the King could command.
"What can you do? You've already offended him to the core. In for a penny, in for a pound. Either don't offend him at all, or just kill him outright.
"The best opportunity has been lost. What you need to do now is find out who he is behind the mask.
"Judging from the Scarecrows' description, he should be a very vindictive person and knows you're a weakling. He'll probably stay in the Royal Capital, waiting for a chance to kill you."
The more Loren spoke, the more nervous the King became, but there really was no other way. He could only follow Loren's advice.
"I suspect that super hero is a man between fifteen and twenty-five years old. Otherwise, he wouldn't be chuunibyou enough to become a super hero. Also, he probably hasn't been here for too long, otherwise he wouldn't have only stepped forward to be a super hero now. Search slowly within that range."
Loren had also asked others about the timing of the super hero's appearance. It was after Loren arrived in the Royal Capital, more precisely, after Loren became a teacher.
To be honest, Loren wasn't entirely clear why Luna suddenly decided to become a super hero either. It might have been because of the appearance of the Blackened, or perhaps because she was encouraged by him.
Using this point, Loren delineated a search range for the King. No one other than Loren could see through Luna's disguise, so the King would never doubt Loren's words.
After thanking Loren, the King left and immediately ordered a search based on the range Loren had set, though he was destined to find no results.
Most importantly, with the King's attention focused inside the Royal Capital, he wouldn't notice events happening outside.
After the King left, Loren took out his little notebook and glanced at it. Tomorrow was the date written in the notebook as Eldrin's death day. Gwen had already arrived outside the Royal Capital.
"Mirrorheart."
"Master, I am here."
Today, Mirrorheart was still wearing her maid dress gown. She understood Loren's plan very well.
"Tomorrow morning, take the children and hide at the inn run by Luna's family. That area belongs to the slums and won't be attacked by the Blackened. Leave the rest to me."
Loren would bring the children along to fight minor monsters, letting them gain experience. But fighting a BOSS was different. Although Anna and the others weren't weak, they could still face danger. He himself had a hundred percent certainty of defeating Eldrin, so there was no need to put them at risk.
"Alright."
Mirrorheart was always very obedient to Loren's words. Even if she might retort a few times, she would never disobey, whether she understood or not.
In the afternoon, Loren went to class as usual. Although yesterday's events hadn't been ed yet, many people had already learned the news. Children of this age didn't yet know how to hide their emotions, and their unease was written all over their faces.
Now, without the super hero to protect them, if the Blackened really came, the Scarecrows couldn't be counted on.
In this atmosphere of unease, a class ended. Loren took the initiative to find Luna. She had been staring blankly at Loren the entire class, turning her head away whenever Loren looked at her. Her friend beside her felt utterly helpless.
"Luna, come to my office. I have something to discuss with you."
"It's a pity I don't know your surname, I don't know what the child should be called... Yes... I'll go right away..."
In her panic, Luna directly voiced her inner thoughts. Her friend immediately covered her own face.
On the way to the office, to ease the awkwardness, Luna proactively started a conversation with Loren:
"Master Mentor, what is your surname?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Luna wanted to slap herself. Considering what she had accidentally said before, asking this was even more awkward.
"My surname is Luo. But you'd better just pretend I don't have one."
In this world, Loren's surname was indeed strange. If the full name was said together, it sounded somewhat plausible, but once separated, it felt awkward.
Strictly speaking, Anna was actually Luo Anna, so in the end, Loren decided to just pretend he had no surname.
Luna also thought Loren's surname was a bit odd, but she didn't voice it out. Love me, love my dog. If she found Loren's surname strange, she would silently repeat it over and over until she became accustomed to it.
After arriving at the office, Loren cast a Shielding Spell. This was currently Loren's most frequently used magic.
"Luna, don't come to school tomorrow."
"Ah? Why..."
Hearing Loren's words, Luna's mood instantly plummeted. But then Loren began to explain the reason:
"I have a premonition that the Academy will be in danger tomorrow. You should hide at home tomorrow, don't run around. Anna and the others will also be hiding at your place."
Loren once again used his title of prophet. However, even without giving a reason, Luna would have listened to him.
"Alright..."
After Luna agreed, Loren nodded and then left. He had other matters to arrange.
By the time Luna came out, her friend had been waiting for a long time.
"How did it go? What did Master Mentor say to you? Did you decide on a name for your child?"
Luna shook her head and didn't answer her friend's question.
"I'm feeling a bit unwell. My parents have something to do tomorrow. Could you come take care of me..."
After her friend agreed, Luna showed a smile.
