Alex spent an hour reviewing everything.
The technology was foreign, but with his capability and Aira's explanation, he grasped it without much trouble.
"This mechanism is interesting.
It seems the Mechalyte civilization uses life energy as the main power source for their civilization."
At that moment Vesa materialized in the air, face twisted with anger.
"Those bastards. They really turned the vampire race's secret into public knowledge."
"I doubt it is for all race," Alex replied calmly.
"But at least those that took the dragon side in the war probably got access.
The Mechalyte are just one of them.
Still, is this really vampire race technology?"
Alex feel the technology has completely evolved toward different direction.
"Vampires are the only species that can control and manipulate life force directly.
Others may have had clues, but their approaches were wrong."
"Even so, this one is different. Vampires use lifeforce directly.
The Mechalyte convert it into electricity for their machines."
"Life force transformation is nothing new, King," Vesa said.
"It is like what I taught you before, using life force to boost your cultivation.
Our race learned it long ago.
The old Progenitor simply chose not to walk that path because he believed it would harm the universe."
Alex nodded. "I agree with Alucard. Just look at what is happening now."
If converting life force into energy was inefficient, most races would avoid it unless they had no other choice.
But with a workable, high-efficiency method, other races would be tempted to subdue any civilizations.
It was not like there had never been reasons to invade other races in the past.
Usually the target needed value, either as slaves, as a developed civilization with technology, or as holders of unique techniques.
Even then, if a race was enslaved, they still had a chance to grow and eventually fight back.
Slaves were forced to interact with their conquerors' civilization, stealing bits of knowledge over time.
Now it was different.
These humans were trapped in tubes, their entire lives simulated and controlled.
How could they rise again when everything they touched was fake?
As Alex considered his next move, Vesa was seething.
If the vampire race were a murdered human, then this situation was worse than death.
Not only were they killed, even the corpse was cut apart, organs taken and sold piece by piece.
Nothing was spared.
Right now Vesa wanted to tear the Mechalyte into chunks and enjoy every bite.
"Calm down, Vesa. This is also an opportunity for us," MingYue said, stepping in.
"This means with our current method of fusing lifeforce and qi, it will not cause too many problems in the main universe stage, as long as we have enough backing."
"I think I can push it even further, MingYue," Alex replied.
"With the Mechalyte's method, I can increase the efficiency of converting energy. It will evolve our cultivation path to become even better."
Alex began revising his plan.
He still wanted to free all of humanity.
But instead of a direct revolution and open war, he now aimed to take over the Mechalyte from the inside and use them as a springboard into the wider universe, to gather more of Alucard's blood.
"Alice, do you know more about the relationship between the Mechalyte and the dragon race?
Who is backing them specifically?
I doubt the entire dragon race is united."
Alex was sure every race had internal conflicts.
Fighting the Mechalyte did not necessarily mean fighting the entire dragon race.
It only meant targeting the faction backing the Mechalyte.
Depending on that faction's goal, he might even use the Mechalyte as an entry point to infiltrate the dragon race itself.
Behind every crisis, there is an opportunity.
If humanity entered the universe stage with only Alex as their support, they would probably be attacked from all sides.
Now, with the Mechalyte as a cover, they had the perfect camouflage.
"I will try to look for that information," Alice said. "But I will need a way to return to my world."
"Vesa, find a way to send her back.
Also stop by the moon on the way so we can teleport there later."
"Okay, King."
"Oh, right, Alice," Alex added, "send a message to Aimu and Freya.
Tell them I might have found a chance for your races to return to the universe stage."
"What is the plan?" Alice asked, feeling a spark of excitement.
She had left her world hoping to learn more about the universe and gain power for her race.
So far everything had only gotten worse.
Her strength had grown, but on the universe level it still did not mean much.
She had spent most of her time being hunted and helping humanity fight the Mechalyte.
"For now it is only a rough idea," Alex said. "Just ask them first if they even want to go out now, or if they prefer to wait."
The situation for the fairy race and the feline race was complicated.
Alex still remembered that Aimu and Freya wanted more time to build their forces before stepping into the open.
After a bit more discussion, Vesa opened her mouth wide and gulped Alice down, then vanished with her.
Alex turned back to the control device. "Thankfully the Mechalyte are quite shrewd. Each city is a stand-alone system that only sends s to the main server."
"How is that smart?" MingYue asked, tilting her head.
"Wouldn't a stand-alone system be more risky?"
"Their only goal is lifeforce, MingYue," Alex explained.
"By making each city independent, they do not need to micromanage anything.
If one city is compromised, they simply cut it off.
The others keep running without trouble."
"Wait, what do you mean everything is a stand-alone system?" Aira asked, confused.
She knew that even her father could not control the city freely.
He still had to request permission from above.
Her father could only modify the defense systems here and use them in emergencies.
Otherwise, with this kind of facility, her mother would have already built a private robot army to revolt.
