Modern Cultivation : The Strongest Couple Bonded by Vampire System-Chapter 604 - 604: Warning

Chapter 604

SWOSH!!!
The ice shard pierced through the air at high speed and slammed into the space implosion Sigma was forming.
A real black hole would keep growing once it had enough mass.
It would pull everything in, because the gravity near it became too strong to escape.
But what Sigma made was not perfect.
It had not reached an event horizon yet.
That meant space was not fully sealed.
Energy could still leak out.
Light could still escape.
The implosion spun faster and faster, trying to stabilize.
The air around it bent.
Mingyue's ice shard hit the core.
For a split second, the shard looked like it was being dragged inward.
Its edges cracked.
Frost and crystal dust were torn away.
Then the shard pushed back.
But it isn't just ice.
It was a container packed with condensed mana, qi, and lifeforce.
The moment it touched the distortion, it injected violent energy into an unstable structure.
Sigma's "black hole" trembled.
Alex's narrowed his gaze.
'A real event horizon needed extreme mass density.
a micro black hole without constant feeding would not stay stable.
It would collapse or decay quickly.'
What Sigma had was a forced compression field.
A gravity-like manifold made by space power.
Strong, but still it's only a technique.
The core stuttered.
A thin ring of light appeared around it.
Like a boundary trying to form and failing.
CRACK!!!
The compression snapped.
Instead of swallowing the ice shard, the implosion spit everything outward.
It was like a spring that got pushed past its limit.
BOOOOM!!!
A shockwave blasted across the wasteland.
The ground caved in, then erupted upward.
Rocks and frozen dust flew like shrapnel.
Sigma was pushed back.
On his fingers, several glowing symbols dimmed at once.
Like a circuit overheating.
He stared at the shattered space core, then at Mingyue.
"Seem I have failed," he said, voice flat.
Alex's gaze sharpened.
He raised his hand and drew a rune in the air.
The rune expanded into a thin grid around the battlefield.
The space ripples calmed a little.
The distorted light returned to normal.
"You should be running out of energy now!"
Mingyue raised her sword again, the attack also cost her a lot of energy, but different from Sigma she already have a lot stockpiled.
She can still do the same level of attack dozen times.
"MingYue, hold down, don't finish him."
Alex moved in a blur, appearing in front of Sigma.
His hammer struck again.
This time he targeted Sigma's head.
Alex's goal was to acquire Sigma's AI core, then extract all the information inside it.
BAM!
The space barrier around Sigma flickered.
It did not fully disperse the impact.
A crack spread across the invisible wall like glass.
Sigma's red eyes narrowed.
His fingers lit up. Symbols flared at once.
The space around Alex's hammer head twisted, trying to throw the force away.
Alex didn't stop, His lifeforce surged.
White flame wrapped the hammer.
BAM! BAM!
Each strike was heavier than the last.
Sigma got pushed back.
Mingyue moved with him, her swords cutting the air.
Every time his body flickered to teleport, an ice lotus bloom appeared in midair, sealing the spot.
Sigma's teleport stuttered.
Alex's hammer came down.
BAM!!!
This time the barrier shattered.
They symbol on his finger also completely dimmed.
Space rippled and collapsed, like the protection was ripped off his skin.
Sigma's head snapped to the side.
A thin line appeared across his faceplate.
Metal peeled back like bark tearing off a tree.
Under it was layers of crystal circuits and black core plates, pulsing violet.
Sigma's voice shifted.
"Stop. You will destroy the vessel."
Alex's eyes were cold.
"Don't worry I will get your core soon."
Sigma red eyes narrowed.
"You will not get it."
A geometric pattern started appearing, not just on his fingers, but everywhere around his body.
The space power that had already dimmed suddenly began to intensify.
The air screamed again.
But it was different from before.
Alex felt it instantly.
A violent buildup, like a reactor reaching critical.
'Self destruct.'
Sigma's chest opened. A ring of symbols spun inside his torso.
A sphere of violet light formed, growing fast.
Mingyue's eyes widened.
"Alex, he's going to blow!"
She stepped forward, rushing into Sigma.
She slammed her palm into Sigma's chest.
The moment her hand touched, ice started spreading on the core.
Mingyue was trying to freeze it before the energy could reach critical level.
But the space distortion made it very hard.
The ice latched onto Sigma's inner structure, but only a fraction of it passed through.
Alex moved at the same time.
He poured lifeforce and qi into the existing array, forcing it to suppress the space energy from Sigma.
Sigma's eyes flickered.
The violet sphere still expanded.
Mingyue grit her teeth.
She raised her other hand and pressed it down as well.
More ice lotus patterns formed, stacking layers on top of each other.
Cold spread through the air, then through the metal, then into the crystal circuits.
Sigma's body started to lock up.
The symbols on his skin flickered faster, trying to break the freeze.
Alex didn't give him that chance.
He draw more rune than enhance the array.
BAM!
The runes shook.
Then they stabilized.
Mingyue's ice finally pushed through.
It reached the core.
The violet sphere stopped expanding.
It trembled, then slowed.
Sigma's chest froze half open.
His whole body turned stiff, like a statue trapped in ice.
A voice came from inside the frozen shell.
"You are making a mistake."
The sound was weaker than before, like the system was losing power.
Mingyue's eyes narrowed.
Sigma's voice dropped again.
"If you shut me down like this, you will lose what you want most."
The red eyes than flickered completely shut down.
Alex didn't waste time.
Runes appeared on his fingers.
His lifeforce wrapped around his knuckles, then sank into the ice like threads.
He reached into Sigma's frozen chest and grabbed the almost self destruct core.
The moment his fingers touched it, the ice cracked.
In Alex's palm, the core pulsed once.
And the space around his hand started to ripple.
