Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 312 - 311: Loving Her Is Enough

Chapter 312

Chapter 312: Chapter 311: Loving Her Is Enough
The Grant Family was just as Serena Sullivan anticipated — a father and son estranged, siblings turned into enemies!
The Matron Grant wanted to rebuke Serena for being excessive, to scold her for being heartless and ungrateful to Ethan Grant’s deep affections, but as she spoke these words, they got stuck in her throat as she looked at Serena’s legs.
"Ethan loves you."
In the end, all The Matron Grant could say was, "Don’t be so harsh to him."
Serena’s smile deepened, but she said nothing more.
The Matron Grant saw that Serena was ignoring her and sighed deeply, "Get some rest, I’ll be going now."
The door opened and closed, Anna held Serena’s hand, "Serena, don’t be angry."
Serena shook her head, "I’m not angry."
"The Matron Grant is Ethan’s biological mother. What mother wouldn’t speak up for her son?"
The Matron Grant is a good mom!
"It’s just that I’m a bit envious," Serena said softly. Anna tightened her grip on Serena’s hand; when one is ill, they especially long for family to be around.
Though Anna and Finn treated her well, they couldn’t fully replace the presence of her biological parents.
And Serena Sullivan was missing these two kinds of affection the most.
Upon hearing of The Matron’s visit, Ethan Grant hurried over in a panic.
Willow Yarrow was not far away, driving took only a few minutes.
Standing at the door, about to enter, Ethan heard a voice from within saying, "I don’t love him anymore." In that instant, his heart felt pierced by thousands of arrows, pain emanated from all over his body, spreading towards his heart, leaving him standing like a statue, his hand trembling violently in midair from the pain.
Looking inside again, he hoped to find some deceit in Serena’s expression, but there was none!
Her face held a gentle smile, her eyes were clear, with no trace of falseness.
No more love!
His Serena no longer loved him, nor would she give him a chance.
Retribution, it’s all retribution!
Turning his gaze away, Ethan Grant slowly turned around and dragged his heavy feet back in the direction he came from, step by step.
His mind was muddled and dazed; he found a place to smoke all his cigarettes and stayed there for a long time. By the time he came to his senses, it was already dark.
Suddenly, he understood.
Serena not loving him isn’t all that unusual, is it?
She loved straightforwardly; even though four years ago he was so innocent, he didn’t suggest the breakup! It wasn’t his uselessness! How could it lead to a car accident, losing their child, crippling her legs?
So, her not loving him didn’t matter, as long as he loved her.
Late at night, with clarity, Ethan Grant returned; in the quiet hospital room, Serena lay sleeping peacefully on the bed.
He remembered her messy sleeping habits, always curling up like a little bear with her legs draped over him when they were together.
Now she lay straight because of her crippled legs.
"Serena."
He approached and sat by the bed, reaching out to gently place his hands on Serena’s stomach.
The warmth transferred to his palms, and Ethan Grant’s eyes reddened.
In the dim room, Serena’s features slowly became clear in his eyes, his throat sore, heart aching, Ethan Grant smiled with pursed lips, dipping his head to gently kiss her lips.
"Serena, I love you!"
From now on, he’ll stick by her side, never to be driven away.
Ethan Grant took off his jacket and shoes, climbed onto the bed to lie beside Serena.
Nervous he might wake her, he carefully laid down, gently holding her hands, and closed his eyes, falling asleep.
