Chapter 90: Chapter 90: He Is the Man She Cannot Show in the Light
When Eleanor Valerius woke up, she was still in the position of lying against Sebastian Ford’s chest.
She just moved slightly, and Sebastian’s large hand gently caressed her smooth back, like soothing a child.
"Ugh... it hurts..."
"Does your wrist wound hurt?"
Sebastian examined the wound on her wrist.
The bandage was intact; even in last night’s tender moments, he was very careful.
"Not the wrist..."
Eleanor’s voice was soft and coquettish, her eyes accusingly glaring at him.
Suddenly, Sebastian immediately understood.
Feeling her slight tension through his touch, he raised an eyebrow and said in a low voice, "Let me see, I hope you’re not hurt. I’ll feel heartbroken."
Eleanor couldn’t stop Sebastian from personally checking.
"Hmph, it’s all your fault..."
"That’s because I didn’t want you having nightmares. I purposely kept us close so that you could feel me clearly, and no other man would appear in your dreams."
Sebastian explained the previous night in a justified tone.
He held her tightly, kissing the top of her head, with a fleeting guilt in his eyes.
"I promise you, what happened last night won’t happen again."
Julian Ford dared to kidnap Eleanor Valerius, and he couldn’t even imagine what the consequences would have been if they had found her later.
Upon hearing this, Eleanor took a subtle deep breath.
She had to admit, the shadows of last night’s nightmare were eased by Sebastian’s gentleness.
"Master Ford, when you say last night... does it mean you won’t cling to me like that again?"
"Clearly, you are the one who clings to me, little vixen."
Sebastian chuckled, knowing that the present Eleanor had truly recovered.
Then, he picked her up and took her to the bathroom.
For him, taking care of her during a bath was quite enjoyable.
Downstairs, the servants had already prepared lunch.
Sebastian directly held Eleanor in his lap, lazily resting his head on one hand, with a view of her.
"Sitting like this, I can’t eat properly."
Eleanor’s face was pale with a natural complexion, but the faint paleness showed when she smiled.
Suddenly, Sebastian squinted his eyes, wrapped his large hand around her waist, and gave a gentle pat.
"I don’t want you sitting on an uncomfortable chair and then complaining of pain later."
"There’s someone here..."
Eleanor glared at him, not expecting him to say something so suggestive in front of the servants.
Soon after, the tactful servants quickly retreated.
"Now there’s no one left."
Sebastian’s hypocritical smile was truly mischievous.
Just like in bed!
Biting her lip, Eleanor blushed as their intimacy was exposed, her face gradually turned red.
Sebastian gazed at her, gently touching her flushed cheek.
"You look even better this way."
He preferred her lively little vixen appearance.
Eleanor was slightly dazed, realizing that Sebastian’s tenderness had indeed continued from last night to now.
After lunch, she still hadn’t left his embrace.
Outside, she saw Nathan Kendrick arriving in a sports car.
"Brother, since you didn’t answer my calls, I had to come to tell you in person. Julian Ford has woken up at Ford Hospital, and the doctors said his injuries were from a beating. The Ford Family is there now, perhaps to investigate what happened last night."
Eleanor suddenly tensed up.
"Master Ford, last night, Julian’s phone recorded me..."
"I’ve already asked Nathan to handle it thoroughly. What’s non-existent can’t be spread, and Julian has no evidence in his hands."
Sebastian lowered his voice, a hint of anger in his eyes.
"Yeah, when my brother instructs something, I execute it earnestly."
Nathan had an expression expecting praise.
At this moment, Eleanor’s breath was slightly unsteady as she closed her eyes.
The emotional turmoil from last night made her irrational and unsettled; it was only now that she could calmly recall the details.
"When we were leaving, I think I heard Julian call you little uncle... he might have seen us. If Grandpa and the eldest daughter question him about his injuries from last night, even without evidence, he’s still a witness."
Sebastian frowned, knowing he too lost control of the situation last night.
He hadn’t considered leaving a potential threat.
"Master Ford, our relationship can’t be made public!"
Eleanor anxiously looked at him, lightly tugging at his sleeve.
Suddenly, Sebastian reversed Eleanor’s grip, lowered his eyes, and said softly, "Don’t worry, I’ll handle it."
Though he knew quite well that their relationship indeed couldn’t be disclosed.
But seeing Eleanor so worried, he found himself inexplicably annoyed.
It really felt like, in bed, he was the loving partner, but out of bed, he was the secret affair.
...
Ford Hospital.
The VIP ward was crowded.
Sophia Ford was particularly worried about Julian’s injuries, having summoned the entire hospital’s staff for his examination.
At this moment, Mr. Ford and Byron Ford were sitting on the opposite sofa.
Sophia, disregarding her demeanor, kept urging the doctors, while her husband Owen Shaw appeared as the silent, unassuming man living off her.
With his injury, Julian seemed more like a pampered mama’s boy under his mother’s indulgence.
"Third Master is here."
The bodyguard at the door immediately stepped aside respectfully.
At that moment, several medical staff stood outside awaiting instructions.
Sebastian Ford, impeccably dressed in a suit, strode in with long legs.
His presence instantly drew everyone’s attention.
Subsequently, nobody noticed Eleanor Valerius disguised as a nurse following him, anxious to check the situation in person.
"Father, what is so urgent that you summoned me from the office?"
Sebastian, with an imposing figure, cast his gloomy gaze lightly on Julian, who had his head wrapped in bandages, his voice devoid of emotion: "How did Julian get injured?"
He thought he had kicked too lightly.
With that glance, Julian was frightened, recalling last night and shrinking back.
"Julian was beaten up like this to target the Ford Family."
Sophia, in protective mode, pleaded to Mr. Ford with a grievance: "Father, Julian is my dearest son and the legitimate grandson of the Ford Family. If anything happens to him, I cannot live, you must get to the bottom of this."
Mr. Ford was very angry, thumping his cane on the floor heavily.
"Second Son, could this be the Donovan family’s retaliation?"
"That’s impossible!"
The Donovan family was a cooperative ally; Byron Ford quickly clarified: "They’re embroiled in Young Master Donovan’s lawsuit, why would they target the Ford Family? Sister, since Julian has woken up, how about asking him directly what happened last night."
Sebastian remained silent, sitting on the sofa, lazily crossing his long legs.
His gaze coincidentally fell on Eleanor, who was dressed as a nurse outside.
The uniform temptation seemed quite intriguing.
"Julian, don’t be afraid, Grandpa’s here. Did you see who attacked you last night?"
Everyone in the ward was focused on Julian’s condition.
Nobody knew what kind of explicit thoughts were running through Sebastian’s mind.
"I..."
Julian’s heart raced with anxiety.
How could he dare admit he kidnapped Eleanor to force her last night?
If Grandpa found out, he’d be doomed!
More frighteningly, he was uncertain about the relationship between his little uncle and Eleanor.
Whether or not he was mistaken, accusing his little uncle would be a dead end.
"If you know who hit you, just say it."
Sebastian’s eyes narrowed dangerously, his tone carrying an implicit warning as he pressed Julian.
Cornered with no options, Julian decided to take a risk, evasively saying, "I think I saw the person who attacked me last night was Uncle!"
As the words landed, everyone in the ward was shocked and turned their gaze to Sebastian.
