Chapter 93: Chapter 93: If You Die, I Will Never Die for Love
Eleanor Valerius didn’t know how to answer that.
However, Sebastian Ford didn’t wait for her response.
He picked up the suit jacket he had just tossed on the seat and draped it largely over Eleanor Valerius.
"You can’t let other men see you in pajamas."
Amidst being chased, how could he still have a sense of possessiveness?
Eleanor Valerius couldn’t help but peek out, but her view was blocked by Sebastian Ford’s palm.
"Don’t worry, they can’t kill me."
"...I’m worried about myself."
Hearing Eleanor Valerius’s honesty, instead of being angry, Sebastian Ford chuckled.
Maintaining his hold on her, he glanced at the route the vehicle was taking toward a remote area and sent a location notification to the bodyguards.
"Surround them from all sides, capture them alive, I want to interrogate them personally."
There weren’t many assassins in the trailing vehicle; Nathan Kendrick was tasked with monitoring Damian Lowell, so Sebastian Ford didn’t call him over.
"Master Ford, are you sure it’s alright?"
Eleanor Valerius looked out at the unfamiliar night on the suburban highway, her heartbeat rapid and erratic.
"Yes, stay in the car and don’t get out, I’ll handle it quickly."
Squinting his dark eyes, Sebastian Ford didn’t shy away from preparing his gun and bullets in front of her.
His good mood was definitely ruined by this interruption.
As the vehicle drove to the intersection at the traffic light, the approaching convoy flashed its lights in response.
"Master Ford, our people have arrived."
The driver, seeing the Ford Family’s license plates, no longer harbored any suspicions.
Soon, with the bodyguards’ coordinated surround, the trailing assassins were subdued.
Sebastian Ford got out of the car and walked over.
At this moment, Eleanor Valerius’s gaze instinctively followed his figure, watching him from the car window.
The Ford family’s uniformly dressed bodyguards approached, and the unsuspecting driver opened the car door to get out as well.
Some bodyguards stealthily moved closer to Sebastian Ford’s back.
Murderous intent suddenly emerged.
In a flash, Sebastian Ford reacted keenly, turning around and shooting before the bodyguards could ambush him.
At the same time, a fake bodyguard lurking near the vehicle shot the driver.
The sounds of gunfire at close range boomed through the open car door, echoing inside.
Eleanor Valerius suddenly covered her mouth in shock!
How could she have imagined that the Ford Family bodyguards who came would turn against them?
Unless they were impostors!
But in just an instant, the situation reversed.
The Sebastian Ford lured out of the car was the true target for ambush and assassination.
The killers disguised as Ford Family bodyguards had the best opportunity for an ambush.
However, they did not anticipate Sebastian Ford’s keen sense, missing the only chance they had, leaving them without the advantage.
What kind of terrifying existence was Sebastian Ford?
Lone in combat, yet capable of breaking through a heavily surrounded dangerous situation.
He frowned sharply, noticing the driver’s car door was open, making Eleanor Valerius in the car vulnerable at any moment.
At the same moment, Eleanor Valerius, worried about Sebastian Ford, hurried to call Nathan Kendrick.
"There’s someone in the car! Burn it!"
The fake bodyguards’ task tonight was to assassinate Sebastian Ford; no one by his side could be spared.
Immediately, a fake bodyguard fired a shot at the vehicle’s fuel tank, and the flames rapidly spread from the burning tail of the car.
Sebastian Ford’s eyes widened as he counterattacked and rushed over, shouting sternly, "Eleanor Valerius, get out of the car!"
Outside the car was still surrounded by armed fake bodyguards.
Getting out risked getting shot, while staying in risked being burned alive from an explosion.
Upon hearing Sebastian Ford’s order, Eleanor Valerius trusted him without hesitation!
As she gathered the courage to open the car door, the fake bodyguard aiming to silence her raised his gun.
Though there was distance between Sebastian Ford and her, it didn’t stop him from skillfully eliminating the killer beside Eleanor Valerius with a long-range shot.
With danger imminent, Eleanor Valerius held her breath in fear.
Her sight caught Sebastian Ford’s running figure, instinctively running towards him, the two racing toward each other.
Gunshots echoed around, mixed with the acrid smell of burning vehicles.
Like the end of the world, akin to a purgatory.
Until Eleanor Valerius threw herself into Sebastian Ford’s embrace.
Enveloped in his strong arms, she buried her face against his shirt, taking deep breaths.
Though the residual smell of gunfire lingered, the warmth of his familiar presence dominated.
As if with him there, all danger could be faced without fear.
Eleanor Valerius’s reliance on him reached its peak at this moment.
Sebastian Ford quickly reloaded the magazine, cradling Eleanor Valerius with one arm as he led her away from the danger.
At this time, the leader of the fake bodyguards watched helplessly as the mission neared failure.
After issuing a warning, the man suddenly activated a black remote control.
A sharp "Zzz" high-pitched sound ensued.
Eleanor Valerius felt a pain in her ears and sensed Sebastian Ford’s body stiffen briefly.
"Master Ford?"
She raised her head to look at him.
Her eyes caught Sebastian Ford’s frowning face, as he removed the hearing aid from his left ear with a stern expression.
Right then, blood flowed from his left ear.
Eleanor Valerius widened her eyes, suddenly realizing the high-pitched sound had been aimed to destroy his hearing.
"You’re bleeding..."
She reached out to gently wipe the blood that had reached his jaw.
Sebastian Ford, with a sharp gaze, clearly understood that tonight’s assassination was premeditated.
Protecting Eleanor Valerius, he temporarily hid behind a vehicle.
Though the pain in his left ear was evident, only relying on his right ear’s hearing amidst the killers’ coordinated tactics, his sharpness seemed to have dulled.
"Sweetheart, tonight you might join me in martyrdom."
Sebastian Ford, with a faint, complex smile, gazed down at her.
Upon hearing this, Eleanor Valerius’s expression faltered with a tremble.
"I don’t want to die, and I don’t want to die with you."
The surrounding danger steadily encroached.
She clung to him tightly, her voice rigid as she spoke, "You snuck me out, but you have to ensure I get back safely. Don’t think I’ll die for you; a lover is only worthwhile when alive. I want to enjoy pleasure with you; when doomed, we’ll each fend for ourselves."
Despite her harsh words, her grip on him remained firm and determined.
Sebastian Ford chuckled lazily, lowering his chin to brush against the top of her head, replying, "Little fox, always making use of me, I can’t let you down."
With those words, a burst of murderous intent flared in his eyes.
Despite impaired hearing, he fired directly at the streetlamp, shattering it.
The only light in the night vanished.
Sebastian Ford’s vision was sharply enhanced, and he swiftly led Eleanor Valerius to safety while the killers were still reacting.
"Sebastian Ford..."
"Stay here obediently, I’ll come back for you."
Eleanor Valerius couldn’t see clearly, just felt Sebastian Ford’s presence disappear.
She knew she couldn’t become his burden, so she remained silently hidden, waiting for him.
A downpour followed, replete with thunder and lightning.
Sebastian Ford fought with a near-bloodlust rage.
The assassins’ heavily populated ambush couldn’t gain the upper hand, the sounds of their conflict were muffled by the rain and thunder.
By the time Nathan Kendrick arrived with the Ford Family bodyguards, the gunfire had ceased.
Standing in the rain, Sebastian Ford’s figure was soaked to the skin.
All the ambushing killers had been dealt with, leaving no one for interrogation.
However, a bullet had grazed his left waist, the blood spreading more quickly as it mixed with the rain.
Nathan Kendrick rushed over, asking worriedly, "Bro, were you shot?!"
"I’m fine, clean this up."
Sebastian Ford discarded the gun, took hold of an umbrella, and headed to where Eleanor Valerius was hiding.
"Eleanor Valerius, come out."
Hearing his voice, Eleanor Valerius immediately emerged without hesitation.
The umbrella tilted entirely towards her, leaving not a drop of rain on her.
With the vehicle’s lights shining over, Eleanor Valerius instantly saw the large area of blood at Sebastian Ford’s waist, her eyes gradually turning red.
"You’re injured?"
