My Ability Pool is Superior-Chapter 17: Blood Rage

Chapter 17

Nightfall descended.
Lu Bai gazed at a crescent moon that had risen at some unknown time, stretching lazily.
“What a fulfilling day.”
Zombies could still be seen wandering on the street, with their roars occasionally heard; it seemed that at night, the zombies became even more active.
After sunset, the wind on the rooftop became noticeably stronger.
Lu Bai shrank his neck into his collar, planning to climb down from the railing first and find a random spot inside the building to crash for the night.
Just then, a beam of light flashed on him.
He immediately became alert, rolling back onto the rooftop and using the railing as cover.
“Sniper rifle? Or what?”
Although his knowledge of firearms was limited to the shooting games he had played in his previous life.
But he had heard a bit about the power of sniper rifles.
A Barrett to the head does over five hundred damage, afraid or not?
After crouching behind the railing for about ten seconds, Lu Bai cautiously poked his head out and looked around, quickly spotting the direction of the light source.
It came from the hotel diagonally across, the window sill on the fifth floor.
The other side seemed to have no intention of hiding at all, even constantly shaking it, as if afraid others wouldn’t notice.
Seeing this, Lu Bai realized it didn’t seem malicious; he hesitated for a moment, then waved toward that direction.
After being infected with the zombie virus, Lu Bai’s hearing had greatly enhanced, but his vision showed no significant improvement.
Across dozens of meters, plus reduced visibility at night, he stared at that window for a long time and could barely make out one man and one woman in the room.
He could vaguely see the man seemed to be saying something, his expression unclear, but from the amplitude of his movements, the man was gradually becoming excited.
“Did he think I was going to jump off the building just now?”
A friendly smile appeared on Lu Bai’s face as he waved his arm again.
“Hurry up and get him to throw us some food.” Zhou Meina yanked hard at Tang Peng’s collar.
Starved for a day and a night, this pair of lovebirds’ eyes were almost turning green from hunger.
Unfortunately, this hotel’s scenic windows were designed with safety in mind, tilting upward at most 45°, barely serving for ventilation.
“Working on it!”
Tang Peng pushed the hotel window open to the maximum with effort, struggling to stick half his body out, shouting toward Lu Bai: “Little brother, help us out! Throw some food!”
In the quiet night, Tang Peng’s shout sounded particularly abrupt.
Lu Bai looked at the zombies outside starting to lift their heads, raising one index finger to his lips, signaling Tang Peng to quiet down first.
However, neither Tang Peng nor Zhou Meina could understand the meaning of his gesture.
“Fuck! What the hell does this bastard mean!” Tang Peng cursed in anger.
Zhou Meina plopped down on the ground, hysterically roaring: “Can’t you see? This kid definitely doesn’t want to share food with us!”
She kept slapping the floor, a few strands of hair getting into her mouth without her bothering to manage them.
It could only be said that few people could stay rational when facing despair.
In their view, such a large department store definitely wasn’t short on food.
“What’s the use of you making a fuss!?”
Tang Peng’s face was gloomy, on the edge of rage.
Zhou Meina immediately shot back: “Yell yell yell! All you know is yelling at me! Then what do you say we should do?”
Angry as they were, their memories hadn’t disappeared.
The scene of Lu Bai kicking through the tempered glass gate not long ago was still fresh in their minds; even if they wanted to vent, there was nowhere to do it.
On the department store rooftop.
After observing the couple in the opposite hotel close the window and quiet down, Lu Bai didn’t think much more, turned around, went down from the rooftop, and went to find a place to rest.
……
The next day.
Lu Bai woke up on a genuine leather light luxury bed that was for sale, sitting up straight.
He rubbed hard around his eye sockets, forcibly perking himself up, then got up and left this bedding area.
“The quality of these zombies is truly despairing…”
Lu Bai sighed sleepily.
He really hadn’t slept well last night; now his head felt somewhat groggy.
In the middle of the night, the zombies outside were like holding a party, unusually active.
Whether the zombies’ throats roared until they cracked, Lu Bai didn’t know, but after listening all night, he felt like he was about to crack.
It wasn’t until he splashed cold water on his face that he finally felt a bit awake.
Lu Bai yawned lazily, casually turning off the faucet: “But the city’s water supply system is still running; could it be that the water plants have all upgraded to automation?”
After muttering a couple complaints, Lu Bai reholstered the pistol from some double eagle back at his waist.
By the way, although he always carried this gun, he really had no intention of using it; it was more for psychological comfort.
It was indeed because this thing wasn’t very stable; it might pull a stunt like no bullets in the chamber at a critical moment, so cold weapons like the eight-sided Han sword were more reliable.
Of course, mainly because he had gotten used to it after chopping so many zombies and death fighters.
Lu Bai carried the eight-sided Han sword downstairs, incidentally grabbing some usable things on the way and stuffing them into his pockets.
Not sure if the zombies had made too much noise last night, but now they had all gone to find places to sleep.
The entire department store, including the streets outside, was exceptionally quiet.
Morning air always had a refreshing feel, even in the urbanized urban area, no exception.
Lu Bai stepped on glass shards out of the department store, greedily taking a deep breath, as if even his drowsiness was washed away by more than half.
Squeak~
Lu Bai caught a faint sound.
He followed the direction of the sound, looking up to see the hotel’s fifth-floor window being pushed open.
Immediately after, a wall-mounted television smashed onto the road not far from Lu Bai.
Tang Peng’s eyes bloodshot, glaring at him ferociously: “Not giving us food? Then go die!”
Before the words finished, heavy objects kept being thrown from the window, playing a harsh symphony.
Nearby zombies heard the movement and let out roars.
Several zombies at the street corner spotted Lu Bai in the middle of the road and frantically twisted their bodies toward him.
“Tch.”
The smile on Lu Bai’s face grew even friendlier: “When did I ever offend you?”
“Pah! I just don’t like you, come bite me if you dare!” Tang Peng spat, his expression distorting to near madness.
“Though I don’t really want to kill early in the morning, but leaving directly might not be appropriate; just consider it eliminating harm for the people.”
Facing this kind of person, Lu Bai felt no anger in his heart at all; he silently activated [Blood Rage].
The moment [Blood Rage] activated, his skin tone visibly shifted toward reddish warmth.
The dizziness from anemia was quickly overshadowed by the endless power surging from his body.
This appearance of Lu Bai, in Tang Peng’s eyes, meant he was angry, just showing it a bit too obviously.
So he sneered: “Typical impotent rage.”
