My Ability Pool is Superior-Chapter 2: Super Regeneration

Chapter 2

Fan Ding shook his head woodenly.
Everyone was teleported to this Deathmatch Arena at the same time. You don’t know what happened—does that mean I do?
But soon Fan Ding realized this was his opportunity, and he tentatively inquired.
“Give me back my sword, and I’ll go check outside?”
“In your impression, am I someone who’s easy to bully and mentally immature?”
Lu Bai tilted his head slightly, somewhat puzzled.
As he spoke, he glanced at the Long Sword in his hand, and a series of information appeared in front of his retina.
[Weapon: Eight-Sided Han Sword]
[Characteristic Entries:
(Lightweight: No sword body weight felt when swinging)
(Durable: Sharpness does not decrease with usage)]
[Evaluation: Randomly obtained from [Armory II (Silver)], a quite excellent standard weapon.]
When Lu Bai noticed that “Silver” suffix, his pupils contracted slightly.
Is everyone’s Ability Pool rank random, or…
Did I get lucky?
He calmly asked Fan Ding: “How did you pick such a trash thing?”
“With a Silver Ability Pool, how amazing did you want to draw?”
Stoked by this, Fan Ding blurted out in anger.
But under the continuous wails coming from afar, the anger surging in Fan Ding’s heart quickly cooled down again.
He looked around, trying hard to appear calm, but really lacking confidence: “…How about we find a place to hide first?”
Although it was still unclear exactly what had happened on campus, the increasingly frequent screams and cries were really chilling to hear.
Even in the air, a nauseating Bloody Smell faintly wafted.
No matter how you thought about it, it didn’t seem like a Situation that should appear on campus.
“Help… save me!”
A cry for help came from far to near.
A Boy with a bloody mess of Flesh and Blood on his Neck staggered out from the Corner.
Lu Bai could barely make out that this was one of the Delinquent Youths who had left earlier.
Upon seeing Lu Bai, that Delinquent Youth desperately wanted to grasp the last straw like a drowning man.
He Pounce on the ground and hugged Lu Bai’s calf tightly.
“Help me… they’re crazy, everyone’s crazy… they bite anyone they see!”
He spoke haltingly, so at least Fan Ding couldn’t extract a complete piece of information from his Words for the moment.
“Calm down first. What exactly happened? How did you get this injury?” Fan Ding leaned in, grabbed the Delinquent Youth’s shoulders, and shook him.
Thanks to his exaggerated movie-watching experience before crossing over, Lu Bai formed a bold guess.
Zombies?
Looking at the obvious tear wound on that Delinquent Youth’s Neck made by teeth, Lu Bai silently withdrew his leg from the Delinquent Youth’s arms, and his grip on the Long Sword tightened unconsciously.
“Mm~”
Several figures walked out from behind the Old Banyan Tree, their whimpering sounds making one’s whole body uncomfortable, like a hand roughly rubbing deep in the throat.
They could barely be recognized as the previous group of Delinquent Youths, their School Uniform Shirts almost open to the navel.
Of course, Lu Bai had no mood right now to guest-star as a discipline committee member.
The Delinquent Youths’ pairs of grayish-white Eyeballs, the blood-filled bulging veins on their faces, the disgusting mucus occasionally dripping from their mouths…
All indicated—
Damn it, we’ve encountered Zombies!
Fan Ding’s Complexion darkened: “What the hell is this thing?!”
No time was given for Lu Bai to think too much.
The moment their gazes intertwined, these several Zombies pounced towards him.
In an instant, Lu Bai confirmed one thing.
These were indeed Zombies,
but not the slow-moving, stiff-actioned kind in his impression.
Simply put,
In his view, it was like several 100-meter sprinters charging at him simultaneously.
These Zombies seemed to crazily squeeze their Body’s Muscle tissue in a way he couldn’t understand, thereby erupting with unbelievable Speed.
Absurdly fast.
The distance between them was less than ten meters to begin with, and under the explosive Sprint, it was over in a flash.
In this process, Lu Bai only had time to make one sword-gripping upward slash Action.
Pff~
Sword blade entering Flesh and Blood.
The fastest-charging Zombie was stabbed through the throat on the spot.
No, rather than stabbed through, it was more like this Zombie actively rammed its Neck onto the sword tip.
But piercing didn’t mean it was over.
Under the powerful inertia, this Zombie still pressed towards Lu Bai.
In this extremely short time, Lu Bai anomalously found no panic in his heart at all, instead quickly making the most correct judgment.
He slashed the sword horizontally, using this Zombie’s throat as the center, severing the Skull while smoothly yielding a body position.
Thud!
The headless Corpse, momentum unabated, crashed heavily to the ground and stopped moving.
Catching this out of the corner of his eye, Lu Bai relaxed slightly.
Hm, decapitation still works.
Unfortunately, there was more than one Zombie present.
Before Lu Bai could Adjust his posture, he was tackled to the ground by the successively colliding Zombies.
He only felt like he had collided head-on with a high-speed Car, nearly dizzying him completely.
And for the Zombies, facing fresh Ingredients often required no Preparatory work.
Without the slightest hesitation, two Zombies went straight for him.
Neck, thigh.
Blood overflowed from the two bitten spots.
It had to be said, the tearing Pain was far more intense than from sharp weapons like knives or swords.
Especially watching oneself being gnawed like this, it was even harder to suppress the Adrenaline surge.
Stimulated by the Pain, Lu Bai quickly snapped out of his daze and regained control of his Body.
He had no time to consider if he’d turn into a Zombie after being bitten, nor did he know why he’d crossed over here.
He only knew he had to go on a killing spree!
At this moment, Lu Bai’s mind became extraordinarily clear.
Four Zombies had appeared, one resolved with a single sword, leaving three still.
Two pressing him down, the remaining one targeting Fan Ding.
Lu Bai didn’t think Fan Ding could handle such exaggeratedly powerful Zombies, including that previously bitten Delinquent Youth…
Delay too long, and he might have to prepare to face five Zombies.
But,
As long as he resolved these two Zombies in front of him before Fan Ding and that Delinquent Youth turned, the advantage would be mine!
Fan Ding’s wail was already coming from his ears; neither his own physical condition nor the current Situation allowed Lu Bai any hesitation.
He took a Deep Breath.
Bent his knee, suddenly exerted force.
Using his hard knee to smash heavily diagonally upward.
The clever force direction made the Zombie biting his Neck flip directly over his Head.
The tightly gripped Long Sword sliced from bottom to top towards the Zombie hugging and gnawing his thigh.
At least it was a weapon drawn from the Silver Ability Pool; the Eight-Sided Han Sword’s sharpness did not disappoint Lu Bai.
The Flesh and Blood on the Zombie’s Neck, along with the pale white bones, were severed together.
Lu Bai flipped up and, before the flipped Zombie could get up, beheaded it with one sword.
After all this, that Zombie’s Head was still biting into Lu Bai’s thigh, Blood flowing down his pant leg into the Soil, carrying a bloody wildness.
He unconsciously grinned, plucked the Head off his thigh, and tossed it aside like trash.
Lu Bai didn’t stop, limping towards the last Zombie.
The Zombie pinning Fan Ding down and feasting heartily didn’t notice the approaching danger at all.
Until pierced through the Back of the Head with one sword, it made no Resistance.
Lu Bai first glanced at Fan Ding, already a bloody mess of Flesh and Blood, then turned to look at the other Delinquent Youth nearby, whose eyes had turned milky white and who was starting to twitch nonstop.
Out of humanitarianism, he raised his sword and struck.
Severing the possibility of both turning into Zombies.
[Ding!]
[Points +1, Current Rank 27/423]
Lu Bai ignored the Mechanical Prompt sounding in his mind. He took two steps, turned, and leaned his back against the Old Banyan Tree’s trunk.
He gripped the dripping Long Sword; apart from slightly rapid breathing, his expression was unusually calm.
Thinking back, he was somewhat surprised that he seemed to have no major Emotional Fluctuation throughout.
Logically, in his previous life he was just a poor Taoist Priest from a rundown temple; even killing a chicken would make his heart race with tension. At least he wouldn’t be like now, killing several “people” yet calm as if doing something ordinary.
Sure enough, is there something wrong with this Body?
Rubbing his back against the trunk, Lu Bai slid down to sit.
Even this simple Action made him wince in Pain.
No way around it; the human Body’s perception of Pain often surges like a tide only after Relaxation.
Lu Bai gritted his teeth and shifted to a more comfortable sitting position, Relaxing.
He glanced sideways towards the Sports Field, as if that vibrant, thriving Scene was still before his eyes.
Muttering as if in Evaluation or self-mockery.
“Just a few minutes into the start, and I’m done for?”
……
However.
Nearly ten minutes passed.
The Situation Lu Bai had anticipated—suddenly mutating into a Zombie—didn’t happen. Instead, the screams in his ears became even more frequent.
Outside the campus Wall, Car horns and collision roars, Zombie roars, and humanity’s shrill cries blended into a complex symphony.
This meant the school wasn’t the only site of the Zombie outbreak.
Even without seeing it, he could imagine how bad the outside Situation was.
Having personally chopped them, Lu Bai knew very well how terrifying these Zombies were.
You know, in modern society, most people can’t even utilize their own Power.
Even top athletes, after years of training, can barely bring out Power from specific Muscle groups.
As for bursting beyond human limits by overdrawing potential under intense emotions, that’s extremely rare.
After all, such bursts are uncontrollable and unsustainable for ordinary people.
They also cause irreversible damage to the Body.
But from brief Contact with a few Zombies, Lu Bai could conclude their Power and Speed were exaggeratedly strong.
They seemed to have made this overdraft their norm.
The reasonable Explanation was that after Infection into Zombies, the brain lost self-protective restrictions on the Body, leaving only the Bestiality to devour prey.
In that case, ordinary people probably needed Thermal Weapons to fight these Zombies.
Pondering these things, Lu Bai didn’t notice that his two bitten spots were like a fast-forwarded documentary.
Slowly growing flesh buds, healing rapidly at a Speed beyond ordinary human Cognition!
