My Aloof Husband Can't Stop His Devoted Affection-Chapter 173: He couldn’t bear to

Chapter 173

Chapter 173: 173: He couldn’t bear to
The night wind rustled, and faint stars twinkled.
The car was quiet inside. Jiang Baizhou’s peripheral vision caught sight of Cen Jin gazing out at the night scenery through the window. Her fair, beautiful profile was graced with a faint, gentle smile. Jiang Baizhou’s thin lips pressed together slightly as he slowly broke the silence in the car, "What time is it?"
"Hmm?" Cen Jin instinctively pulled her gaze back, looking at him. She paused for about two seconds before picking up her phone to check the time. "It’s past eight, why?"
"Have you decided which movie to watch?"
"Yes, I have!" Following that, Cen Jin opened her phone and found a movie introduction on an app. "I think this one is pretty good. I watched some trailers online before."
Jiang Baizhou heard this, turned his head to glance, "Not Suitable for the Youth?"
"Uh-huh, it’s a heartwarming youth film that just premiered yesterday." Cen Jin nodded with a smile and tilted her head to ask, "What do you think? Do you want to watch it?"
"I’m fine with anything." Jiang Baizhou replied casually, but after a few seconds, possibly thinking he sounded too indifferent and fearing Cen Jin might overthink, he added, "As long as you like it."
"So when shall we go watch it?"
"Now."
"Now?" Cen Jin was surprised and suddenly understood why he had asked the time earlier. She checked the time on her phone, "There’s another show at 8:45."
"Shall we go see it?"
"Let’s go." Watching a movie is such a romantic activity for couples, Cen Jin surely wouldn’t refuse or want to miss it.
She cherished every moment with him right now, believing he felt the same, given how long they had waited for each other.
"Okay." Jiang Baizhou responded lightly, with a few more traces of softness added to his firm contours.
When they arrived at the cinema, the two bought tickets hand in hand. Since there were still twenty minutes before the movie started, Jiang Baizhou bought her favorite popcorn and fruit tea and accompanied her as they sat on the lounge sofa waiting.
Soon, the movie began, and they went in just in time for the start.
The film was about childhood sweethearts, divided into two phases: the youth phase, which was quite emotionally intense, and then reunion eight years later when they get together, sweetly. This movie had also signed a series contract and was very popular.
Ninety percent of the cinema was filled with couples or girls, and when they saw the male and female leads hurting each other during the youth phase, all the girls in the cinema silently cried, feeling very sorry for the protagonists.
Cen Jin was no exception. Although she was independent and strong in certain aspects, she was very emotional, often shedding tears over such movies or dramas.
Jiang Baizhou noticed the two streams of tears running down her fair face. His brows furrowed, and his gaze at the movie screen turned harsher.
As if blaming the movie for making his girlfriend cry.
He couldn’t bear to make her cry himself; how dare this movie make her cry, and so heartbreakingly at that.
He resolved never to bring her to such unfulfilling movies again.
Thinking this, Jiang Baizhou, with a somber face, raised his hand to wipe the tears from her face, and murmured impatiently, "What’s there to cry about? Such things won’t happen to us, won’t make you empathize."
Cen Jin was taken aback, looked at him, and met his obviously displeased eyes. Her heart trembled, suddenly feeling embarrassed for crying over a movie and getting caught by Jiang Baizhou. She let out a small laugh, burying her head in his arm, feeling both embarrassed and losing face: "Oh! That’s not what I meant."
