Chapter 221

Chapter 221: 220: Miss your husband?
"No way, Ling Ran, how do you know everything? Have you been here before?" Yun Xi nodded dejectedly, then realized something was off, and suddenly tilted her head to look at Ye Lingran, asking curiously.
"It’s my first time here too, just that I did some research before coming."
"Really?" Yun Xi widened her eyes: "When I was nineteen, I came with my mom to see a fashion show, but didn’t have the chance to explore around. After graduating, I was constantly busy with work and always squeezed by my brother. I wanted to travel but never found the time. This time, I finally came due to work, so I want to take the opportunity to have fun, but I’m a bit lost about where to go. Ling Ran, since you did some research, how about telling me once we’re free, and we’ll go together?"
"Okay." Ye Lingran nodded with a smile and looked at Cen Jin: "Cen Jin, weren’t you planning to get gifts for Aunt Qin and Jiang Baizhou’s parents? Are you planning to explore too?"
"Yeah, isn’t the fashion show ending around four or five in the afternoon? I plan to go out after that, and since our flight is at eight the next morning, we still have time." Cen Jin took a sip of juice and replied with a raised eyebrow when Ye Lingran mentioned her.
"Alright, then let’s go shopping together!"
"Sure, sounds good."
After dinner, they all joked and laughed, taking the elevator back to their floor, and after saying ’goodnight’, they each returned to their rooms.
After returning to her room, Cen Jin put on a face mask with care. By the time she finished everything, it was already 11:30 pm Milan time. She yawned, feeling quite tired after the long flight, and turned off all the lights, leaving a dim floor lamp on. She then climbed into bed and started to rest.
Perhaps due to the time difference, Cen Jin woke up before seven the next morning, not feeling the slightest bit sleepy. After washing up, she used the room phone to call the hotel’s front desk to order breakfast, but hesitated before dialing the number completely. She got up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, and the golden bright sunlight poured in, making her squint in discomfort. She instinctively raised her hand to block the light.
Once her eyes adjusted to the light, Cen Jin lowered her hand and gazed at the view of Milan, her mood instantly lifted. She decided not to close the curtain again or to have breakfast delivered, so she changed clothes, grabbed her bag, and headed out.
Just as she closed the door, she ran into Ye Lingran coming out of the next room. They looked at each other, both a bit stunned, then smiled at each other. Cen Jin spoke first: "Morning, Ling Ran."
"Morning, Cen Jin." Ye Lingran withdrew her hand from the door handle and smiled at her: "Why are you up so early?"
"I don’t know, I didn’t sleep early last night either, maybe it’s the time difference! I woke up early and couldn’t go back to sleep. What about you?" Cen Jin walked over, shrugging helplessly.
"Same here, I woke up at 6:30 and couldn’t sleep anymore. The weather outside seems nice, and the air seems crisp. Since Milan mentioned yesterday that they were picking us up after 9:30, I thought I’d go for a walk and have a local breakfast. Are you thinking the same?" Ye Lingran smiled gently, her words full of warmth.
Cen Jin nodded in agreement: "Yeah, pretty much, let’s go together then."
"Sure."
"By the way, what about Yun Xi and Yun Qi?" Cen Jin stopped walking momentarily and asked.
"Yun Xi is probably still dreaming away! Certainly not up yet. Yun Qi should also still be resting; he seemed to stay up quite late last night. When I asked the staff for water past midnight, I saw his assistant passing by to his room."
"I see! Then let’s not disturb them, let them sleep a bit longer."
"Yeah."
The two of them linked arms and took the elevator to the hotel lobby, where they coincidentally ran into the manager. After exchanging greetings, Cen Jin and Ye Lingran headed out of the hotel.
The golden morning light spread from the side, adding warmth, but the gentle morning breeze carried an endless chill.
"It’s quite cold this morning," Cen Jin gathered her coat around her and shivered.
"That’s why I told you to bring more clothes and some thick ones. Did you bring them?"
"Yes, I did. With your thorough research, how could I not? Plus, Jiang Baizhou reminded me that it’s cold in the mornings and evenings here, so I brought both thick and thin ones." Cen Jin nodded heavily, shivering again as another wave of cold hit her.
"Good. Although it’s a bit chilly this morning, the air is quite refreshing. Watching people up early gives me an unexpected sense of contentment. Back home, we’d rise early only to head to work. On breaks, we’d spend mornings or entire days indoors, ordering takeout, missing out on this kind of scenery." Cen Jin inhaled deeply, her face full of envy, her eyes sparkling as she watched the bustling street.
"True, although I sometimes like going out, I don’t see this slow-paced life on weekend mornings."
Chatting and laughing along the way, they arrived at a crowded tea room with a unique decor style. Ye Lingran glanced at the watch on her wrist and then turned to Cen Jin: "Cen Jin, it’s eight now, why don’t we eat here? It looks quite nice."
Cen Jin raised her gaze to assess the place and nodded in satisfaction: "Sure, let’s go in! There’s just one last empty table."
The two of them entered the shop, a slightly plump blond-haired, blue-eyed foreign lady enthusiastically approached, leading them to their seats and handing them menus, using fluent English to introduce their specialties and signature items.
Cen Jin and Ye Lingran, both fluent in English, listened intently. They eventually decided on two cups of morning tea, two desserts, a fruit vegetable salad, and bacon with eggs.
After returning the menu to the waitress, Cen Jin turned to look at the affectionate couples outside on the street, leaned her head on one hand, sighed silently, and a hint of loneliness flashed across her face. Suddenly, she thought of Jiang Baizhou’s handsome face.
Noticing her change in expression, Ye Lingran teased with a smile: "What’s up? Are you thinking of your husband, Jiang Baizhou, after seeing this scene?"
Surprised by Ye Lingran’s teasing, Cen Jin froze for a moment, her face instantly turned red, and she quickly looked away: "No... No, don’t say that, I just think it would be nice for a honeymoon here."
