Just as she came out of the bathroom, a video call from Yun Qi came in, and the two of them chatted intimately for about half an hour before hanging up.
In the following days, with the Yun Group’s new design already on the main page and the collaboration with Lu Group gradually unfolding, things got busier. Ye Lingran, due to the frequent orders from her studio and needing to design her and Yun Qi’s wedding attire, was basically leaving the studio after 10:30 PM every night.
Similarly, Ling Quan and the others were also incredibly busy, while Cen Jin, because she was resting at home for her pregnancy, rarely went to the studio but still helped with design drafts, albeit at a slower pace than before. Though the studio area was actually large, given their current scale, space still felt insufficient. Therefore, Ye Lingran discussed with Cen Jin whether to rent the second floor. The second floor had been empty since last year, initially intended as a small makeup room, but was abandoned due to high rent.
After a few days of consideration, Cen Jin personally called the landlord. If they rented the second floor, renovations would be necessary, as the stairs leading up were at the back of their room and indoor stairs would need installation if unifying the space, requiring the removal of the outer stairs, resulting in significant transformation.
The landlord was very agreeable upon knowing this, as his second floor had been vacant for over a year without any takers. Moreover, Cen Jin and her team had rented his first-floor storefront for many years, coupled with their current reputation, which significantly benefitted him in the design circle.
Thus, he also agreed to their renovation plans and offered a very reasonable price for the second-floor rent, thirty-five percent lower than the first-floor store, for which Cen Jin and Ye Lingran were quite grateful.
Due to renovations unavoidable, it somewhat affected the daily work progression.
Not until late September were both floors fully renovated. Ye Lingran and Cen Jin moved their offices to the second floor, adding a small conference room. Their design studio remained on the first floor, which also served as a customer reception area, with Ling Quan and Fan Yunru’s desks still on the first floor, mainly to receive customers and display their finished designs, and two new fitting rooms were added.
