"Thank you for your hard work." As Ye Lingran untied her apron and sat down, Yun Qi handed her a bottle of ice-cold drink, thoughtfully helping her twist open the cap.
Ye Lingran took a sip and, smiling happily, gestured to him: "Try it, and see how it tastes."
Yun Qi picked up the chopsticks and first tasted the squid, then the clams, followed by taking a bite of crab from his bowl; the taste was just as good as any restaurant outside. He felt like he had found a treasure and nodded affirmatively with a smile: "Mm, delicious."
Hearing this, Ye Lingran breathed a sigh of relief and picked up her chopsticks to eat as well. The texture and taste were indeed quite good, and she remarked with a smile: "We can make seafood soup in the evening, and also the salmon. I’m afraid if we make too much, we won’t finish it."
"You’ve already planned the dinner menu while we’re just starting lunch?" Yun Qi laughed, put down his chopsticks, got up to wash his hands in the kitchen, and then sat back down to help her peel the shrimp, not forgetting to tease her.

For lunch, neither of them touched the rice much; they focused on the dishes. After eating, Yun Qi took over the dishwashing while Ye Lingran tidied up the kitchen, then went to the living room to watch TV. Since she got up early in the morning and had the habit of taking naps at noon, she felt sleepy after watching for just ten minutes.
Eventually, she directly lay down sideways on the sofa, using a pillow to support her head, looking drowsy.
"What’s the matter?" Yun Qi asked with concern when he saw her suddenly lying down.
"A bit sleepy."
"Go sleep in my room!"
"No, I’ll just nap here shortly."
"Be good, go sleep on the bed; it’ll be more comfortable." With that, he stood up and bent down to carry her in his arms.
"Ah... what are you doing?"
"I’ll carry you over!"
"No need, put me down; I can go by myself."
"It’s fine, just a couple of steps, and... you’re quite light."
Ye Lingran remained silent, letting him carry her to the room, where he gently placed her on the bed. He also lay down next to her, causing a pang in Ye Lingran’s heart, her cheeks blushing, as she quietly turned her gaze away, putting her face against his chest, suddenly remembering: "Oh, right, we haven’t measured the size we promised!"
"Aren’t you sleepy? Just sleep first; we can measure later when you wake up. There’ll be plenty of chances to measure for you." Yun Qi held her in his arms, looking down at her, appearing especially petite.
It was clearly a simple sentence, yet Ye Lingran, for some reason, felt a sense of flirtation, especially with his tone, which made her face flush even more embarrassingly.
After about four or five minutes, Ye Lingran felt sleepy again, gradually closing her eyes and drifting into slumber. It was the first time she had fallen asleep in his arms, making her feel inexplicably secure, with a smile lightly on the corners of her mouth.
Listening to her steady breathing, Yun Qi gazed at the beloved person in his arms, his expression filled with warmth, kissed the top of her hair gently, and tightened his embrace around her waist, starting his own nap.
