My Aloof Husband Can't Stop His Devoted Affection-Chapter 560 - 025: Are you free tomorrow?

Chapter 560

Chapter 560: 025: Are you free tomorrow?
Seeing Lu Shishu’s confident and matter-of-course demeanor, Nan Jiayan suddenly found it both amusing and exasperating. It was quite considerate of her to leave this mess for him to clean up when he got back.
"You’ve worked hard, taking care of her for so long, you must be exhausted!" Nan Jiayan smiled helplessly, eyes full of gentleness.
"Where are my phone and my bag?" Lu Shishu asked coldly, ignoring his words and responding with a question.
"At my place, I forgot to bring them upstairs when I carried you up yesterday. It wasn’t until I got back that I realized your bag was on my car."
"Oh, well, I want it now."
"Didn’t you ask me to tidy up here? Cleaning this up might take a while, why don’t you go get it yourself? It’s right there on the living room sofa, you’ll see it at a glance." Nan Jiayan laughed, turning his head slightly to glance at the paint on the floor, somewhat helplessly.
After hearing this, Lu Shishu didn’t say much more and just turned around towards the door, heading directly to his house. Familiar with the routine, she input the password without any hesitation and unceremoniously opened his door and walked in.
The little guy, Buxia, enthusiastically came over. Lu Shishu bent down to pick it up, holding it in her arms and smoothing its fur. As soon as she reached the living room, she saw her bag lying obediently on the sofa and walked over to take it, intending to put the cat down and leave.
However, the little guy in her arms clearly didn’t want to get down, using its paws to cling to her clothes, refusing to let go. Lu Shishu was somewhat speechless, looking at it with a mix of amusement and exasperation.
After two minutes of standoff, Lu Shishu finally asked helplessly, "Are you really not planning to get down? You’re about to tear my clothes apart. Are you planning to compensate me with your cat food and little fish snacks, or let your silly owner pay for it?"
"Meow~"
Buxia remained nestled in her arms, unmoved, even giving her an adorable wink, completely dissipating the last defenses in Lu Shishu’s heart.
In the end, she had no choice but to carry Buxia back to her place, glancing at Biuqiu, who was resting on the cat tree, on her way out. But it still had a high-and-mighty, disdainful look, so Lu Shishu didn’t bother to waste her efforts there.
When she returned home, Lu Shishu saw that Nan Jiayan had already taken off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves, looking as if he was ready to embark on a big cleaning task.
"Where are the cleaning supplies?"
"There’s a hidden door in the bathroom; everything’s in there."
"Alright."
After acknowledging, Nan Jiayan went to the bathroom, glanced around before finding the hidden door, and took out the mop, cloth, and bucket from inside, starting to diligently help her clean up.
Lu Shishu sat on the living room sofa, unfazed, charging her phone while playing on it and petting Buxia in her arms, feeling no sense of embarrassment.
"Where did you go this morning?" When Nan Jiayan was halfway through tidying up, Lu Shishu suddenly glanced over, after pondering for a short while, she voiced her question.
"The hospital." Nan Jiayan was startled, turning back with a smile: "My father and I severed our relationship seven years ago, and now that Wu Qianxin has left Little Yu’er with me, it’s naturally necessary for me to go and ask about it."
Listening to his indifferent words, Lu Shishu caught the crucial point, severed ties with his father seven years ago?
Seven years ago was also when he suddenly disappeared.
"What do you mean?" Overwhelmed by curiosity, Lu Shishu couldn’t help but ask.
Nan Jiayan pursed his lips, directly tossing the cloth in his hand to the ground, rising up to Lu Shishu’s side, his expression a bit gloomy, the black eyes somewhat obscure: "I went to the hospital this morning, originally to ask him about Little Yu’er, but upon arriving, I found his condition much more serious than I imagined."
"What happened?"
"Liver cancer, late stage."
"What?"
Seeing Lu Shishu’s utterly shocked expression, Nan Jiayan chuckled lightly: "Actually, whether he’s seriously ill or not has nothing to do with me; it’s just... Little Yu’er is still young, and she’s innocent."
"Then... is there anything that can be done?"
Nan Jiayan laughed, shaking his head: "The doctor said if it’s maintained with medication now, there’s at most half a year to a year left, and that’s assuming there are no other emergencies."
Lu Shishu was somewhat taken aback, not expecting such a situation, but seeing the relaxed expression on Nan Jiayan’s face, she realized the conflict between him and his father was definitely not minor.
