Chapter 472

Chapter 472: Entering Xiqiang City
Looking out through the window, Bao Shengjie let out a sigh of relief, then groaned in pain as he stretched his body and limbs.
"Ugh... we finally arrived. This horse carriage is really not something anyone can endure. If we go on for another day, my bones will fall apart."
Hearing this, Ouyang Zhuangyu chuckled. "I’m the patient here, and I haven’t complained at all. Yet you, a perfectly healthy person, are the first to complain?"
Pouting, Bao Shengjie retorted, "Brother Zhuangyu, can you really compare me to all of you? I’m just an ordinary man. Not like you guys, who have been through fire and water for years."
Seeing Bao Shengjie’s aggrieved expression, Hua Yuyu said, "Alright, alright. We are almost there. Just endure it a little longer."
Noticing the worry flashing in Hua Yuyu’s eyes, Bao Shengjie obediently replied, "Yes, Brother."
While the three of them were talking, the coachman drove the horse carriage toward the side gate designated for carriages and wooden carts.
Raising his palm, a soldier stepped forward. "Please stop for inspection."
"Yu~!" The coachman pulled the reins and jumped down from the driver’s seat after the carriage fully stopped.
Walking up to him, the soldier nodded in greeting and said, "Sir, please show your travel pass and identity documents."
Without a word, the coachman took out his travel pass and identity token.
While checking them, the soldier asked, "Who is inside the carriage?"
"Our young masters," the coachman replied calmly.
Returning the documents, the soldier walked closer to the carriage. Clasping his fists, he said politely, "Excuse me, we need to inspect the carriage. Please come out for a moment."
Inside the carriage, Bao Shengjie turned to Hua Yuyu, his voice tinged with worry. "Brother Yu, what should we do now? If they find out that we don’t have any identity here, they might throw us in jail."
Hua Yuyu thought briefly, then said, "Stay calm."
After saying that, he lifted the curtain by the window.
Seeing the person inside reveal himself, the soldier said, "Young Master, please come down so we can conduct the inspection."
Hua Yuyu did not move. Instead, he took out a black token from his Qiankun Pouch and showed it to the soldier.
The moment the soldier saw it, his eyes widened in surprise. Taking several steps back, he clasped his fists, lowered his head, and said, "Please forgive this subordinate’s rudeness."
Putting the black token away, Hua Yuyu said calmly, "It’s fine. The two carriages behind us are also with me."
Realizing that Hua Yuyu had no intention of pursuing the matter, the soldier nodded and turned to his comrades. "Clear the way!"
Following his command, two soldiers moved the wooden barricade aside.
Once the road was cleared, the soldier turned back and said respectfully, "Young Master, you may pass. Welcome to Xiqiang City."
"Thank you," Hua Yuyu replied as he lowered the curtain.
Seeing that the soldier let them pass, the coachman climbed back onto the driver’s seat and flicked the reins.
As the carriage passed through the city gate, Bao Shengjie let out a long sigh of relief.
Patting his chest, he asked curiously, "Brother Yu, what did you show that soldier? Why did he let us in without another word?"
Hua Yuyu took out the black token and showed it to Bao Shengjie and Ouyang Zhuangyu. "This was given to me by Feng Er. He said that as long as we show this token to Feng Army soldiers, they will let us pass without question."
Staring at the black token, Ouyang Zhuangyu rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Sounds like an ancient version of a member card for some powerful organization."
Nodding in agreement, Hua Yuyu put the black token away. "That’s what I think as well."
While Hua Yuyu and Ouyang Zhuangyu were pondering the black token’s significance, the coachman drove straight toward the Great General’s mansion.
An hour later, the carriage stopped in front of the mansion. Before long, two more carriages stopped behind them.
Seeing this, one of the soldiers guarding the main gate frowned and approached them. Looking at the coachman, he politely said, "Sir, you cannot park your carriage here. Please leave at once."
The coachman said nothing and took out his own black token.
When the soldier saw it, his gaze flickered for a second. Clasping his fists, he asked politely, "Brother, are you here to see the Great General?"
The coachman shook his head and replied, "I’m escorting people."
After that, he placed a step stool beside the carriage and called out, "Brothers, we have arrived."
Inside the carriage, Hua Yuyu exchanged looks with Bao Shengjie and Ouyang Zhuangyu. Seeing their nods, he lifted the door curtain and stepped down.
Raising his head, Hua Yuyu looked at the wooden plaque above the gate. Though he couldn’t read the words, he recognized them because he had seen them before on antique scrolls owned by Bai Hanyun.
As Hua Yuyu scanned the surroundings, the others disembarked from their horse carriages and joined him.
Once everyone had come down, the coachman clasped his fists and said, "Brother, this is the Great General’s mansion. Fairy Bai is currently staying here. I have completed my mission and must return to headquarters to . Farewell, may fate allow us to meet again."
Returning the salute, Hua Yuyu replied, "Take care, Brother. Let us meet again when fate allows."
After exchanging farewells, the coachman and his two companions drove the horse carriages away.
Hidden on a rooftop, a secret guard from the Fifth Division thought in confusion,
’Who are these men? Why would brothers from headquarters personally escort them?’
Feeling the dangerous aura emanating from Hua Yuyu and his companions, the guard frowned.
’No... I must this to the Master immediately.’
With that thought, he activated his lightness skill and vanished from the rooftop, leaving only a gust of wind behind.
The moment he disappeared, Hua Yuyu suddenly turned and looked toward the rooftop. Frowning deeply, he stared at the now-empty space thoughtfully.
