Chapter 481: Portable Space And Time Portal
Bai Hanyun was in the middle of her thoughts when the Yang Mirror appeared before her in a flash of bright golden light.
Almost blinded by the light, Bai Hanyun reflexively shielded her eyes with her hands. "Ugh!"
Recalling this familiar, irritating golden glow, Bai Hanyun knew without needing to guess who the culprit was.
Gritting her teeth, she said, "Yang Mirror, I told you to tone down your light a long time ago. Are you doing this on purpose?"
Ignoring her annoyance, the Yang Mirror chuckled in a good mood. "It’s been a while since the last time I glowed like this. It feels refreshing!"
Lowering her hands, Bai Hanyun rolled her eyes at him.
Taking a seat beside her on the bed, the Yang Mirror stretched out his palm. "Give me the jade pendant."
Without saying a word, Bai Hanyun placed the jade pendant in his palm and warned, "Be careful with it. I still need to return it to Feng Xiyan later."
Hearing this, the Yang Mirror raised his brows slightly. "You are going to return this jade pendant to that brat?"
"Of course," Bai Hanyun replied matter-of-factly. "This is his family heirloom. Do you know what a family heirloom means? It’s meant to be passed down to his children in the future. How could I keep someone else’s heirloom without permission?"
After she said that, the Yang Mirror stared at her in silence.
’That brat is quite pitiful.’
He shook his head, then asked, "Since you are going to return the jade pendant, why do you want to use it as the medium for the space and time portal?"
"The Jin Empire is currently waging war against the Feng Army. In case of an emergency where I’m not together with Feng Xiyan, he can use this jade pendant to save lives," Bai Hanyun said with a hint of worry in her brows.
The Yang Mirror nodded in understanding, then asked further, "Then what about you? What will you use as the medium for your space and time portal?"
Bai Hanyun flipped her palm, and an exquisite wooden hairpin appeared in it. "I’m going to use this," she replied with a smile.
The Yang Mirror picked up the wooden hairpin and inspected it for a moment.
Raising his brows slightly, he said, "This is just an ordinary wooden hairpin. Although it’s finely made, the material itself doesn’t contain any spiritual energy, nor can it store spiritual energy. Comparing this wooden hairpin with the jade pendant is like comparing mud and gold."
After his brief evaluation, he looked at Bai Hanyun and asked, "Girl, does this wooden hairpin hold personal value to you?"
"Yes." Bai Hanyun nodded, then added in her heart, ’
It was a gift personally made by Feng Xiyan.’
Noticing how her gaze softened as she looked at the wooden hairpin, the Yang Mirror thought,
’Interesting. I thought this master of mine was a cold-hearted person. But now it seems that beneath her cold exterior, there is concealed warmth. I wonder who can make her show that kind of expression.’
After receiving Bai Hanyun’s answer, the Yang Mirror replied, "Alright, then."
Standing up from the bed, he walked to the outer room. Sitting down at the round table, the Yang Mirror placed the jade pendant and the wooden hairpin on top of it.
Curious about how he would establish the space and time portal using the two items as mediums, Bai Hanyun followed him into the outer room.
Sitting across from him, she watched as the Yang Mirror formed a series of hand seals. His movements were so fast that Bai Hanyun could only see afterimages.
When the Yang Mirror completed the hand seals, two golden arrays appeared beneath the jade pendant and the wooden hairpin.
Wung~ Wung~
Bai Hanyun watched with great interest as golden particles gathered into the arrays.
As more and more golden particles were absorbed, golden lines emerged on the arrays, slowly forming intricate symbols and patterns.
When the golden lines connected, the Yang Mirror formed another hand seal and then placed his palm on top of the jade pendant and the wooden hairpin.
The instant his palm made contact, the two golden arrays shrank before disappearing into the jade pendant and the wooden hairpin.
After the golden light completely dissipated, the Yang Mirror picked up both items and inspected them for a moment.
A few moments later, he handed them to Bai Hanyun. "It’s done."
Accepting the two items, Bai Hanyun examined them closely but couldn’t see any difference.
"Is it really done? Why do they look the same as before?" she asked doubtfully.
Unhappy with her skepticism, the Yang Mirror snorted. "Hmph! How dare you doubt my skills?"
Despite his complaint, he still pointed at a small carving on the jade pendant and the wooden hairpin and explained patiently, "Look here. This is the space and time portal. When you want to use it, just touch this carving and channel your spiritual energy into it."
After explaining how to use the portable space and time portal, the Yang Mirror calmly poured himself a cup of water and took a sip.
Frowning slightly, he complained, "What kind of water is this? It tastes terrible."
Bai Hanyun ignored his complaint and asked, "Have you forgotten something?"
Raising his brows, the Yang Mirror asked in return with a hint of confusion in his voice, "What did I forget?"
Bai Hanyun rolled her eyes and pointed at herself. "Do you think I have any spiritual energy to channel into the wooden hairpin?"
The Yang Mirror paused in the middle of drinking.
Setting the teacup down, he coughed awkwardly and replied, "Well, since you can’t activate it with spiritual energy, you will have to bind it."
Without giving Bai Hanyun any time to react, he grabbed her hand and slashed her fingertip with his spiritual energy.
"Ouch!" Bai Hanyun grimaced in pain as the Yang Mirror dripped her blood onto the wooden hairpin.
The moment her blood touched the small array, it was absorbed completely.
