My Divine Beasts Are Really Not Evil Gods-Chapter 14: Genius

Chapter 14

Lu Yu turned his head and saw two "acquaintances."
One was the E-class Talent who had handed him a confession letter under the peach blossom tree, only to end up getting scared.
Last time, he hadn't looked closely. Seeing her again, she was truly stunning.
Without any makeup, her complexion was like snow reflecting the morning glow. Her willow-leaf eyebrows were like smoke, and her bright eyes were captivating.
Her looks were only a notch below the student council president's and Little Spider's.
The other was the Round-faced Girl who had been riding the Pale Snow Wolf.
She had a sweet face, but it was a pity that at such a young age, she was as flat as a runway.
The one who spoke was her.
As she was passing by, she happened to hear what Lu Yu had said. Her delicate brows were tightly furrowed, her expression holding a trace of dissatisfaction.
However, after his gaze paused for e-seconds, Lu Yu turned back around, having no intention of striking up a conversation.
He could tell with one glance that this woman was here to pick a fight, like a little boy pulling a girl's pigtails to get attention.
Women were emotional, and in the end, they would likely resort to handling things with emotion.
Therefore, arguing was pointless.
The best method was to just ignore her from the start.
"You…"
The Round-faced Girl saw Lu Yu ignore her, and this arrogance, the same as before, caused a nameless fire to rise in her heart.
She clenched her fists, but the E-class Talent beside her quickly pulled her back, whispering persuasively:
"Sister Yaoyao, don't be angry. Lu Yu just has his own opinion; he wasn't deliberately targeting your brother!"
Her name was Fang Yao, and Fang Yun on the platform was her younger brother.
"Yu Xiyan, it's not like I was going to hit him. Besides, you're not his girlfriend, so why are you in such a rush to defend him!"
A single sentence left the E-class Talent completely baffled.
She blushed and waved her hands repeatedly, saying, "No… that's… I just don't want you guys to fight…"
By the end, her voice was as faint as the buzz of a mosquito.
Looking at her good bestie's hopeless appearance, Fang Yao felt a sense of frustration, as if hating iron for not becoming steel.
She spoke to Lu Yu in a deep voice:
"Don't think you can be proud and complacent just because you get full marks in Tactical Theory Class. Real combat and theory are completely different.
The battlefield changes in an instant. If you don't know how to adapt, you'll forever be just an Armchair Strategist.
My brother's Foul-wind Centipede is already suppressing from a distance. As long as he plays it safe and steady and maintains distance, he can win."
Her words fell, but she received no response.
Lu Yu was long past the age of showing off in front of women. Besides, there was no law against predicting the outcome from the audience.
But since he was sure of the result, there was no need to stay any longer. He prepared to turn and leave.
"Tch, what an act!"
Fang Yao looked at the silent Lu Yu, losing all interest in continuing the conversation, even sighing a little.
The former genius had not only given up the infinitely bright path of a Beast Tamer and madly run off to raise pigs, but he had now also become someone who could only gain a sense of presence by acting unconventional.
He didn't even have the courage to debate her openly, instead feigning arrogance. This made her feel disappointed, and the last trace of admiration she once had was completely extinguished.
She suddenly recalled a sentence she had once read in a book.
Everyone is born a king, but most die in exile.
This man before her, despite having a nearly perfect appearance, had a soul that, in her eyes, had already decayed.
She knew how infatuated men were with her good bestie's looks, but she was too naive.
Therefore, she had to watch over her and absolutely not let her continue to interact with Lu Yu, lest she give herself away and fall into a huge pit of fire.
So she prepared to have Yu Xiyan watch the final result with her, to completely recognize Lu Yu's true colors.
However, the next scene made her pupils shrink abruptly as she exclaimed in shock:
"How is that possible!?"
On the battle platform, the Bronze-armored Baboon had been forced to the edge. Its body was covered in wounds, its skin torn and flesh exposed.
It was panting constantly, clearly at its limit.
Fang Yun's expression was excited as he commanded, "Continue using Foul Wind!"
Although victory was within reach, he hadn't lost his cool; on the contrary, he became even more cautious.
He was preparing to end it with a ranged attack!
The Foul-wind Centipede was also excited. Its body trembled as it prepared for the final blow.
However, because its stamina was nearly depleted, its preparation time was slightly longer this time, and it had closed the distance a little.
Before it could spit out the toxic wind, the Bronze-armored Baboon, which had been on the verge of exhaustion, suddenly seemed revitalized.
It pounded its chest with both fists and roared at the sky:
Roar!
A deafening soundwave instantly spread out from its center, kicking up a cloud of sand and dust. The Foul-wind Centipede was also stunned by the soundwave, its consciousness freezing for a moment.
"Damn it, dodge quickly!"
Fang Yun's expression changed, and he hurriedly commanded his pet beast to dodge. But Qi Wei just chuckled lightly:
"Reacting now? It's too late!"
The Bronze-armored Baboon kicked off with both feet, its body shooting out like a cannonball.
Hiss! Hiss!
Although the Foul-wind Centipede tried to react, its mind was rattled by the Vajra Roar, and its exhaustion caused its reaction to be delayed by one or two seconds.
In a battle, however, this was a fatal weakness!
Unable to dodge in time, the Foul-wind Centipede was seized by the Bronze-armored Baboon.
The immense force and pain snapped it back to its senses. It opened its cavernous mouth to spit toxic wind at close range, but it was immediately swung around like a meteor hammer and smashed repeatedly into the ground.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Under the terrifying impacts, the floor tiles of the battle platform shattered. A large amount of debris, mixed with fragments of the Foul-wind Centipede's carapace and splashes of green blood, flew everywhere, raising a cloud of dust.
The pained chirps of the insect echoed.
Fang Yun's eyes looked ready to split from their sockets as he roared, "Stop, I surrender!"
As his voice fell, the Referee entered the field and instantly separated the two.
The professional Medical Team also quickly brought in their medical-type pet beasts to begin healing the injuries.
As the dust settled, everyone finally saw the Foul-wind Centipede, beaten to within an inch of its life.
Beside it, the Bronze-armored Baboon stood proudly, its wounds like medals that made it look like a God of War.
"It's over."
Qi Wei gave a slight bow, like an elegant young master.
After a moment of silence, the arena erupted in thunderous cheers:
"So strong! A ten-day winning streak!"
"Ten-time Champion! Qi Wei is invincible!"
"The Bronze-armored Baboon is practically a synonym for the Aesthetics of Violence!"
"Looks like Qi Wei will become a Silver Beast Tamer soon, just like those other geniuses!"
"See, doing poorly in cultural classes doesn't mean anything. Only real combat proves everything!"
"…"Amidst the roaring cheers, Fang Yun, the loser, ran over to his dying Foul-wind Centipede, crying his heart out and repeatedly saying "I'm sorry."
Just as heartbroken and dejected was Fang Yao…
