“My name is Rhonda, this is Misul, and this is Zelot,” The young female told Anton.
Anton knew that the three were probably part of one of the larger acts that were performing in the plazas assigned to performers in New Drennor. He also knew that the three were extremely delighted at his suggestion of them guiding him in viewing the different available acts. He knew that everyone in the plazas already marked him as one of those generous fool who showered artists with gold coins if he liked their performance.
He did not care. Anton had a lot of coins and he was more than willing to part with some of them as long as he enjoyed himself especially since he would return to battling the undead, probably nonstop in a few days.
He was also aware that the three teenagers was willing to help him, intending to milk him for all his worth. Again he did not mind as long as he enjoyed himself.
“So, where are we going next?” Anton asked the three.
“I recommend that we watch the musical play by the Torres family. They will start in around thirty minutes,” the young man called Zelot said, then the three started walking,
Anton shrugged and follow the three youths. At first he thought that they would leave the third plaza.
“Hey, I don’t want to leave this plaza. I want to explore all the acts before I go to the next one,” Anton told the three.
“We’re not leaving this location. The Torres family’s play is just ahead but since you mentioned that you wanted to view every acts, the only thing we need to do is to time it so that you’ll see the start of the acts in this place. That’s a complex job,” Rhonda stopped walking and paused to think of probably how they would go about in viewing all the acts.
Anton simply waited. If the three of them rose to the challenge, then he would employ them until he had explored all the performances but if not, then he would just continue exploring the plazas alone. After a couple of minutes, Rhonda started walking again and all the boys, including Anton followed her. It was clear to see that in their little gang, Rhonda was the leader. The thought amused him.
When they arrived at a corner where the supposed musical play by the Torres family would be held, Anton could see the preparation that was going on. There was already an audience waiting. A testament to the reputation of the performing family.
While they were waiting, Anton was delighted when Rhonda, Misul, and Zelot performed their obligation by telling him the synopsis of the upcoming play. Rhonda kept promising him that he would be satisfied with their performance. Apparently, the best singer in the family was the eldest son and everyone could see that Rhonda probably had a crush on the guy.
The three youths kept talking about the play, the actors, the setup that was going on, and more and their comments were highly amusing. Anton had to admit that the three youths were accomplished performers themselves because the introduction that they did bordered on a great performance by itself. Once they stopped since it was obvious that the play was about to start, Anton had an urge to clap since he was truly entertained by the three youths.
Once the play started, Anton could not help but be amazed at how good the actors were. He remembered watching an anniversary concert performance of one of the most famous Broadway play in the famous streaming video app, and when he was watching then, he kept telling himself that the theaters actors were peak singers. The singers now could rival those Broadway actors.
The musical play that they were doing was simple but the music was as complex as anything that Earth could present.
During the halfway intermission, everyone clapped vigorously and Anton saw that none of the audience left. After a few minutes, the play continued. By the time it ended, Anton checked the time on his browser inside his Diablo II system and saw that the play was just an hour.
Anton clapped vigorously and threw five gold coins on the assigned donation bucket. He was again startled when he saw one of the actors rushed to the donation bucket to retrieve Anton’s coins. He just shrugged and asked Rhonda to bring him to the other acts.
“You’re really rich. That was five gold coins that you threw,” Rhonda whispered. Zelot and Misul looked disbelieving.
“Yes, I’m rich so if you do your job, I’ll add bonus to the payment that I’ll give you,” Anton simply said and the three smiled widely.
The good thing about having a guide was Anton managed to view the acts at every start of the performances. They had to traverse the plaza using some sort of complex pattern but he was impressed at how Rhonda, Zelot, and Misul handled the scheduling.
Eventually, they finished all the acts in the plaza and it was only four in the afternoon.
“Well, we’re done. I’ll return here tomorrow to see the acts in the next plazas. Here’s my promised payment,” Anton gave the three youths three gold coins each.
“Do you want us to guide you again tomorrow?” Rhonda asked and Anton simply nodded.
“What time should we go to your inn tomorrow?” Zelot asked.
“You know where I’m staying? Just come to my inn at around nine in the morning,” Anton replied.
“Every performer here already knew where you’re staying. You gave everyone gold coins,” Misul said.
Anton just shrugged. Again he did not care how much he spent as long as he enjoyed himself. He returned to the inn when the sun was about to set. When he entered the suite, he saw that Ishmael, his family, Tess, and her parents were there and there was a table full of food. He knew that they were there hoping that Anton would let them watch a movie.
He went to the table and everyone joined him. While they were eating, everyone asked him if he enjoyed the performances of the artists in the plaza, so he shared some of his experiences. He admitted that more than likely, every performer there knew where he was staying since he had been very generous with everyone.
After dinner, they all went to the mini-theater that was setup inside the suite but before he played the next movie he planned to watch with the others which was Spider-Man 3, he announced that it would be the last film since in two days, he would need to to his captain.
The innkeeper, his family, Tess and her parents looked sad about that information. Kirk and the others just shrugged. Anton knew that the most important thing in the four guys lives right now was magic. At least everyone was tactful enough not to asked why they could not watch movies in the remaining days. Everyone knew by now that he was on vacation and his main goal was to enjoy himself and not to cater to others wants, especially when those people were just acquaintances.
They focused on watching the film and after it was over, Anton joined everyone in discussing the film. Mostly, he answered questions about the technology that they saw in the movies. Everyone took advantage of his amiable mood and asked him several questions. After a couple of hours, he shoo everyone away and told Kirk and the others to memorize their spell while he went inside his room.
