Naruto: Konoha’s Trickster, Starting as the Seven-Tails Jinchūriki-Chapter 747 - 747: Kumogakure’s Bookkeeping Habits

Chapter 747

Kazuyama had fully expected the Raikage's reaction. His younger brother had been taken—if the elder brother showed no response, that would be the real problem.
"In that case, I'll take the old man Sarutobi back first."
"I need Tsunade to look at his injuries. At his age, we can't risk leaving any lasting damage."
Kazuyama had no intention of staying in Kumogakure. Maybe it was because he'd caused the village too much trouble over the years—every time he came here, his hands itched to start something. But right now was not the time. Stirring up trouble now would disrupt the entire alliance effort.
"Alright. I'll have people coordinate with you. Once the date for the Five Kage Summit is confirmed, I'll be the first to arrive!"
"Bee! Wait for me!"
The Raikage tried to stand, but a surge of pain shot through his body. With a cry, he fell back onto the bed. Even with his monstrous constitution, this battle had left him severely wounded.
"Fourth Raikage, don't tell me you went one-on-one with a Tailed Beast?"
"Otherwise, how did you get hurt this badly?"
Kazuyama glanced at his two fingers—the ones this brute had snapped years ago, leaving him in agony. Ah. How the tables turn. Laughing felt a little immoral, but he really wanted to.
The Raikage glared at him, then muttered, voice losing strength:
"I just wanted to stop one Tailed Beast. How was I supposed to know the Three-Tails and Six-Tails would attack me together?"
"And that bastard Madara Uchiha—he ambushed me with Susanoo!"
"Hmph!"
The Raikage's series of "battle achievements" nearly made Kazuyama burst into laughter. Good grief… worthy of the title "Ninja World's No.1 Brute." With courage like that, no wonder he became Raikage.
His father, the Third Raikage, fought ten thousand alone until he died of exhaustion. Now the Fourth Raikage? Taking on three enemies at once—defeated but glorious. Not bad.
"Alright, Raikage-sama. Rest well."
"Just rest properly."
Suppressing his laughter, Kazuyama waved a hand, then turned to Shikamaru and the other two.
"You three did well."
"Come here. Hold onto the bedrails. I'll take you back home."
Shikamaru, Ino, and Chōji immediately grabbed the rails of Hiruzen's hospital bed.
Kazuyama smiled slightly and called back to the Raikage.
"Barbarian, I'm taking this hospital bed. I'll return it to you at the Five Kage Summit."
"We're off. Heal up."
Raikage: …That bastard stole a hospital bed from my Kumogakure!!!
C: ??? He's leaving? Flying Thunder God?
Yes—Flying Thunder God.
Kazuyama's chakra surged again, and in the next instant, he vanished from the hospital together with the bed and the three kids. The man who'd been talking to them seconds ago disappeared without a trace. Even the bed was gone.
Both the Raikage and C stared wide-eyed.
"He's… gone already?"
"To move faster than Raikage-sama… that must be the Flying Thunder God Technique…"
C's words stabbed right into the Raikage's fragile pride.
"C! Don't talk nonsense!"
"The one faster than me isn't that bastard Kazuyama!"
"It's the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze!"
"They both use Flying Thunder God, but Minato's speed is the fastest!"
"And that bastard Kazuyama! How much was that hospital bed?! C, write it down!"
Hearing the words "write it down," C hurriedly pulled out a notebook. Muttering, he scribbled quickly.
"Hospital bed… one…
100,000 ryō… Konoha… owes…"
Hearing his mumbling, the Raikage nodded in satisfaction.
"Good work, C!"
"We of Kumogakure must maintain this excellent habit of bookkeeping!"
"Money! You can never have enough!"
This bookkeeping habit started back when the Raikage had racked up debt. To pay it back, he tightened his belt so much he even sold his training equipment. Since then, he demanded the entire village cultivate the habit of keeping accounts.
...
Konohagakure.
Using the Flying Thunder God Technique, Kazuyama appeared at the hospital entrance with Hiruzen Sarutobi and the three kids—along with the entire hospital bed. He immediately started shouting.
"Tsunade! Get out here!"
"Hurry! The old man Sarutobi's hurt!"
His booming shout completely ignored the fact that Hiruzen's face had turned pitch-black with embarrassment. But it worked.
Five or six doctors in white coats rushed out of the building.
"Who's injured?"
"Advisor Sarutobi?"
"The former Hokage-sama is wounded?!"
The moment they saw Hiruzen Sarutobi on the bed, all of them widened their eyes—then rushed forward, shoving the three younger ones aside without hesitation.
Shikamaru's group could only watch silently. At a moment like this, the doctors mattered more.
"Old man Sarutobi is hurt?"
"Was that yell from that bastard Kazuyama?"
"Where is he? Move aside!"
As the doctors crowded around Hiruzen, a sharp voice echoed through the hall.
Tsunade.
Hearing her voice, the doctors froze like condemned prisoners hearing the execution bell. They immediately backed away, clearing the space around the hospital bed. After all, this was the Tyrant Princess of Konoha.
Tsunade arrived a moment later, but her authority was overwhelming. By the time she stood at the bedside, every doctor was lined up properly.
"His arm is severed?"
"Did you bring the stump?"
"Old man, what did you do to yourself?"
Tsunade spotted the missing arm instantly, brows tightening.
Hiruzen responded with a weary chuckle.
"Who would've thought? My students now interrogate me."
"Ah, I really am getting old."
"Tsunade, I know my body well. It's just an arm. No need to ask further."
The tone was gentle, but the meaning was clear—the arm wasn't coming back.
Shikamaru and the others lowered their heads. They knew exactly how he'd lost it: torn away by a Tailed Beast.
"I see."
"It's alright. I'm researching prosthetics. Once it's ready, I'll give you a new arm."
"Seems your trip to Kumo didn't go smoothly?"
"Lift!"
Still talking, Tsunade grabbed the bedframe with one hand. Relying on overwhelming brute strength, she lifted the entire hospital bed and carried it effortlessly into the hospital.
