One Piece: Hell Pirates-Chapter 307: War on Three Fronts

Chapter 307

Even if some prophecy whispered about his death, Brook was not going to sit this one out.
This might be the battle that crowned the ruler of the New World, even if it plunged everything into chaos.
Once Rocks realized the Roger Pirates were charging straight toward God Valley, he had no choice but to follow. And he knew, just as clearly, that Brook would never pass up such a chance.
In this madness, the Rocks Pirates finally saw a sliver of hope.
In a clean, one on one confrontation, they would only be boiled alive by Brook’s slow, suffocating pressure.
But in a chaotic three way war?
There might be room to survive.
Cornered, Rocks snapped. The tyranny he had suppressed for years erupted once more.
Either he would soar to the top in this war, or he would die with the whole world watching his final performance.
His Dark Dark Fruit would be his fangs, helping him reap as many top tier Devil Fruit abilities as possible amid the carnage.
···
The Marines stationed at God Valley, however, were completely blindsided.
They had spent a year waiting for the Hegemony War everyone knew was coming. Now, in the brief window where their forces were rotating and redeploying… the war chose this moment to ignite.
Fleet Admiral Kong urgently called Holy Land Mariejois, demanding the highest level of support.
Right now Rocks was chasing Roger.
But if those two pirate crews suddenly went mad, joined hands for even one moment, and turned their blades on the Marines…
And if, on top of that, the Hell Pirates arrived…
Then Marine Headquarters would be finished.
The world itself would spiral into chaos.
When they heard Rocks and Roger were clashing at God Valley, the Five Elders were just as stunned.
The blond Five Elder, Peter, went pale with anger. They had chased the Roger Pirates across the seas for nearly a year and still failed to capture them, a humiliation he had not forgotten.
“We must seek Lord Imu’s permission to deploy the national treasure,” said the bald Five Elder, Figarland, his killing intent overflowing. “This time, we end it. We erase all of these pirates at once.”
But before their orders could fully take shape, s began to pour in one after another.
Pluton had launched.
The Hell Pirates and a mass of affiliated crews were assembling and setting sail.
The situation was no longer just serious, it was catastrophic.
Even the Five Elders had to personally head to the front lines. Without them, even the entire Navy would not be enough to withstand the combined force of several top tier pirate crews.
Yet while the Five Elders were mobilizing their own forces, Brook was already moving the shadows of the world into place.
“Tell Mori’s Self Defense Forces to strike the West Blue member nations,” Brook ordered coldly. “Have Fishman Island support the underground in the Sabaody Archipelago. Hit the empty Marineford, plunder the Sabaody districts while you’re at it.
“On the Grand Line, our allied crews will attack Enies Lobby.
“And in the Four Seas… every pirate crew, every dark syndicate… move.”
At Brook’s word, the world itself began to tilt.
Let the World Government show how much power it really had.
Let’s see if they can protect every single member nation that has paid them so much Heavenly Tribute.
···
While the Rocks Pirates hounded the Roger Pirates, less than two days were enough to plunge the entire world into something that felt like the end times.
News of uprisings and raids from every ocean quickly reached the Five Elders and shattered their initial plan of marching out together.
Someone had to stay behind in Mariejois, or the Four Seas and the Grand Line would burn out of control.
“What a terrifying man, Brook,” one of them spat. “He hid his pieces this well.”
Departments of the World Government were overwhelmed. s and pleas flooded in from every member country.
The elite forces that had been pulled into the New World were already barely enough to hold its frontlines. They simply did not have the numbers to stamp out the chaos now erupting in the Four Seas and along the Grand Line.
“Lord Imu has spoken,” Ethanbaron said at last, stepping out with the supreme blade, the Shodai Kitetsu, on his back. “We Five are to deal with the Hell Pirates. He will personally handle Brook.”
In the end, only the curly haired Five Elder, Saturn, remained to guard Holy Land Mariejois.
As Chief Justice, he was the calmest of the five, and with one leg badly injured, his combat power lagged slightly behind the others. That made him the most suitable to sit at the heart of the Government, where even in his state he could crush any petty rebels who dared raise their heads.
The entire CP network was placed under his direct command, to aid the remaining Marine forces in pushing back rioting pirates and rebels across the seas.
God Valley lay much closer to Mariejois on the Red Line than to Doragonzo Island.
Even if the Hell Pirates had set out the very moment Rocks ambushed Roger, the World Government still had enough time to respond.
···
This day would become the day the Celestial Dragons screamed.
And the day the D of Brook’s generation bathed the seas in blood.
Uranus demanded not just the blood of the Celestial Dragons, but also their souls and remaining lives. His price was steep, his power unquestionable, and his methods nothing if not cruel.
Pluton, by contrast, only asked for blood.
Across the sky now, four of the Five Elders advanced with two Knights of God and multiple CP0 units, heading straight for the Hell Pirates’ airborne fleet.
Uranus also took flight.
Standing upon it was the God Knight Zebai, wielder of the Barrier Fruit, his power dedicated to shielding Uranus from Brook’s soul attacks.
To crush the Hell Pirates, the World Government had finally bared its true fangs.
Most of its ultimate combat power was on the move.
···
At God Valley, the Five Elders ordered Marine Headquarters to prioritize the Rocks Pirates and Roger above all others.
There was little chance of those two crews truly joining forces right now.
Roger was the prey, Rocks the hunter. It was only Roger’s insane gamble that had driven the fight into God Valley’s waters.
Still, the Roger Pirates remained target number one for the World Government.
The Marines had no choice. They had to engage both crews.
Fortunately for them, Roger’s primary goal was to escape, not to fight the Navy to the bitter end. That made a full encirclement slightly less impossible.
Under Fleet Admiral Kong’s command, the decision was finally made.
First priority: the Rocks Pirates, whose brutality and bloodlust threatened everything.
Iron Fist Garp would lead a squad of vice admirals to block Roger and keep him pinned.
Kong himself would join three Knights of God and the two admiral candidates, Sengoku the Buddha and Black Arm Zephyr, in a full frontal assault on Rocks at his peak.
This time, the World Government and Marine Headquarters would wage war on three fronts.
They would face the three strongest pirate crews in the world at once.
It was the only way to show that the “strongest military power” title meant something.
In truth, they had no other path.
Who could have guessed that Brook would delay striking the Rocks Pirates for so long, only for the war to erupt suddenly in this twisted shape?
Even four of the Five Elders had left their thrones.
It was the first time in history.
The scale of this conflict surpassed everything that had come before: the first God Valley Incident, the New World War, all of it.
Now even the far corners of the world were beginning to burn.
In West Blue, Morley’s Self Defense Forces fired the first shot in the name of equality and freedom.
Their banner began to spread, their name whispered across every sea.
-----------
The news that the Hell Pirates had been intercepted by the World Government’s top forces quickly reached the Rocks Pirates.
Rocks actually felt a flicker of excitement.
If the World Government was busy locking horns with Brook’s crew, then as long as he won this battlefield today, the Rocks Pirates still had a chance to flip the entire board.
He had to seize this opportunity.
If he missed it, Brook would just keep grinding him down, boiling him alive like a frog in warm water.
Rocks glanced toward the distant clash between the Marines and Roger’s ship. The Roger Pirates, who were completely focused on breaking out, had only drawn Iron Fist Garp, three vice admirals, and some supporting forces.
Which meant the bulk of top tier Marine strength was free to focus on him.
The pressure on Rocks only grew heavier.
But if he wanted any hope of standing on equal footing with the Hell Pirates again, he had no choice but to fight here, today.
And in his ideal ending, the old monsters of the World Government and the Hell Pirates would batter each other to ruin.
If that happened, the entire balance of the world would turn upside down.
···
Originally, Fleet Admiral Kong had planned to join forces with three Knights of God and quickly crush Rocks, the strongest pirate of the New World.
But under Rocks’ command, his officers moved like blades of their own.
The great swordsman Wang Zhi, user of the Forbidden Fruit, forced himself straight into a one on one duel with the physical monster, God Knight Minaro, tying up an admiral level combatant by himself.
The admiral candidate Sengoku, the future Buddha, had intended to suppress Wang Zhi, only to be intercepted by Silver Axe, who had eaten the Titan Giant Ape Fruit. Their life and death clash looked like a savage sequel to Sengoku’s past battle with the Monkey King Wizz, Golden Buddha against the rampaging giant ape.
Captain John, slippery as ever, arranged for the giant female warrior Jennifer, user of the Double Winged Unicorn Fruit, to “fight alongside him” against the other admiral candidate, Black Arm Zephyr.
Whether that support was tactics or John’s own unspeakable preferences, no one dared to ask too loudly.
The Karnz brothers used the Fusion Fruit to merge into a tyrannical giant, and together with Eric Dane, empowered by the Steel Steel Fruit, they charged into the ranks of vice admirals and rear admirals, rampaging through officer lines and sowing chaos.
All across the New World, brutal pirate crews under Rocks’ banner answered his call, rushing one after another toward God Valley.
They were eager to follow Rocks into yet another world class, insane war.
···
On the other side, Iron Fist Garp led three vice admirals, nine rear admirals, and numerous officers to intercept the Roger Pirates.
His orders were not to annihilate, but to pin.
Hold Roger in place.
Then, once the battles on Kong’s side, or on the Five Elders’ side, reached a conclusion, the Marines would turn back and deal with this band of ambitious criminals who dared to pry into the void century.
“Garp! What’s the point of you holding us here? Go back and help Kong deal with the Rocks Pirates!”
On the prow, Roger laughed wildly, but his eyes were sharp.
His gamble had paid off.
He had broken free from a full scale pursuit by the Rocks Pirates, only to be surrounded by Garp’s force instead. Compared to facing Rocks at full strength, this was almost mercy.
Against Rocks’ entire crew, he had no chance at all. Their top tier combat power outstripped his, and most of them were Devil Fruit monsters.
“Ahaha! Roger!” Garp’s booming laugh answered him. “You think I don’t want to beat Rocks up? But the Fleet Admiral ordered me to babysit you instead. So… ready?”
His fists cracked like boulders grinding together.
At forty years old, Garp was at his absolute peak, his Armament Haki even more refined and brutal than Roger’s.
He wanted nothing more than to trade blows with Rocks, the New World’s strongest monster, but rank was rank. He was still only a vice admiral. The privilege of challenging Rocks belonged to the Fleet Admiral and the admiral class.
And as a soldier, his first duty was to follow orders.
Still, Roger was hardly weak.
For Garp, this bout would be more than enough to satisfy his fists.
“Haha! Then we have no choice, do we? Everyone!” Roger raised the Supreme Grade sword Ace, grinning from ear to ear. “To escape, we go through them. Kill!!”
At his shout, the Roger Pirates surged forward.
Against this Marine lineup, they felt no fear at all. Compared to the brutal Rocks Pirates, the Navy almost felt gentle.
“For justice! Capture them!”
Garp bared his teeth in a feral smile, his fists turning pitch black and glossy, reflecting a metallic sheen. With bare hands, he punched straight toward Roger’s Supreme Grade sword as if it were nothing more than scrap iron.
When their blows collided, Conqueror’s Haki exploded.
The clash became a natural filter.
Those not qualified to stand on that battlefield dropped like flies, collapsing under the crushing pressure of their overlapped wills.
War had fully erupted.
There was no room left for mercy.
···
Elsewhere on the battlefield, Rocks himself faced Kong, the strongest God Knight Michael, and the fourth Knight of God, Mahon.
Three admiral level powerhouses surrounded him, their combined pressure threatening to crush him at any moment.
But Rocks’ eyes only burned brighter.
Fortunately, both Knights of God were Devil Fruit users.
And that meant his Dark Dark Fruit could see a narrow, vicious path to counterattack.
···
Compared to all of that, the air around the Hell Pirates was even heavier.
From Pluton’s deck, Brook looked up at the sky and saw the Five Elders approaching, with a terrifying glow flickering within the clouds above.
“So they really went all out.”
Brook clicked his tongue. He had not expected Imu to take him this seriously, sending out Uranus, four of the Five Elders, and, on top of that, two Knights of God.
With a lineup like this, if they had focused entirely on Rocks, the Rocks Pirates would have been erased in an instant.
In the original history, Rocks had “mysteriously” fallen to Garp and Roger without even forcing the World Government to mobilize such strength.
“Yohoho… Is that old Imu really not coming out?”
Brook’s soul sense spread across the sky, but no presence made his instincts scream of death.
Even facing the Five Elders, he did not feel truly threatened.
So what exactly did the Three Eyed Raven see when it said he was in danger of dying?
But the prophet had also said that Brook’s future was full of branches and changes, that even high probability outcomes were not guaranteed.
Which meant as long as Brook stayed sharp and cautious, some prophecies could be broken.
“How dare you, Brook. How dare you speak so rudely of Lord Imu,” Ethanbaron snarled, stepping forward. “What qualifications do you have to make Lord Imu act personally?”
The bald Five Elder drew the Supreme Grade blade, Shodai Kitetsu, and sent out a slash that tore the sky apart.
“Hmph. You don’t have the right to speak to Brother Brook like that!”
Redfield vanished, reappearing in front of Brook in the blink of an eye. Lightning exploded along his blade as he unleashed a brilliant sword strike to clash with Figarland's slash.
The collision detonated in midair, a blinding flash swallowing the sky. The shockwave rolled outward, and waves more than ten meters high erupted across the sea.
After so many years of training, Redfield could finally stand shoulder to shoulder with Brook and face the Five Elders head on.
Kong no longer even entered his eyes.
“You truly are a frightening genius… Redfield,” Figarland muttered, eyes narrowing in grim appreciation. “In seven or eight short years, you have actually climbed to this height.”
Seven or eight years ago, Redfield had only just touched the level of a fledgling admiral.
Now, he could trade blows with a Five Elder.
His growth was nothing short of monstrous.
