Pain Immunity: Worried the Villains Aren’t Twisted Enough-Chapter 18: A Completely Unbreakable Open Conspiracy, He's Not a Madman

Chapter 18

“Absolutely impossible!”
Lu Ce’s voice, carrying a slight undertone of darkness, echoed through the space. The moment he finished speaking, Player 2 immediately exploded into curses, speaking in a frantic rush.
“Everyone, don’t let him deceive you! We can definitely work out a fair way to distribute the points!”
“If I distribute, there is absolutely no way that anyone will end up with zero points!”
“Please trust me! I swear on my honor that no one will walk away with everything!”
“We’ve all gone through this Hell Mode Game together, we’ve lived and died side by side…”
Player 2 was practically ranting like a madwoman, as if she was desperately trying to cover something up, trying to suppress the guilt in her heart.
Lu Ce’s simple words earlier had already filled her with overwhelming fear. At this moment, her instincts screamed at her—she had to vote Lu Ce out!
If she could eliminate this deranged devil, then her opportunity would come!
Lu Ce saw her mental state clearly and interrupted with a smirk,
“Oaths are never trustworthy. Compared to oaths, choices driven by human nature are far more reliable.”
“In those videos that triggered your deepest desires, what did you see?”
“What are you so afraid of?”
“Even if my plan goes through, you don’t benefit, but you won’t die either. Yet, you’re acting this desperate.”
“The highest level of benefit, that deep-seated desire—you can’t bear to let it go, can you?”
A bead of sweat formed on Player 2’s forehead. She wanted to say something, to turn the tables, to push Player 3 and Player 5 to vote—
She was just one vote away!
At that moment, one of the silent players finally spoke.
It was Player 5. Since he wasn’t in any real danger, he seemed relatively relaxed.
“I just want to ask, Player 1.”
“You said that if Player 4 distributes, Player 3 and I will end up with 0. Why?”
Lu Ce tilted his head slightly in his direction, the blue mask forming an unimpressed expression ┌(´_ゝ`)┐.
“…Do you seriously not think at all?”
Then, he turned his head toward Player 2, smirking.
“This just proves you’re still not as smart as our dear Player 2 here. If I’m not mistaken, she already figured out the key to this game the moment I finished speaking, right?”
Player 2’s entire body trembled slightly, as if her secret had been exposed. She wanted to deny it, but Lu Ce didn’t give her the chance. He leaned back in his chair and continued,
“Let’s say there’s only one person in this game.”
“Obviously, they would get 100% of the points and happily go home.”
“But what if there are two people? How would the points be distributed? A fifty-fifty split?”
“Of course not! It would be 100 and 0! Because as long as the majority agrees, the one with the power to distribute has no reason to consider the other person’s opinion at all!”
Lu Ce’s words drew everyone in. Apart from Player 2, whose expression grew darker and darker, the others were listening intently.
His voice continued:
“So, what happens when there are three people in the game?”
The question was spoken calmly, but at that very moment, all the viewers watching the livestream, as well as those who had been trying to piece it together, instantly grasped the sinister nature of the game.
Inside the game and outside, they all spoke in unison with Lu Ce—
“The distributor only needs to give the third person a tiny portion, completely ignoring the second person, and the plan will pass!”
“The distribution would be 99, 0, 1!”
“Because if the third person doesn’t agree and the distribution fails, when it’s just two people left, the last one gets absolutely nothing.”
“So, as the number of players increases, what happens next? I probably don’t need to spell it out anymore.”
Silence filled the room.
No one here was an idiot. Previously, the external pressure had thrown their thoughts into chaos, preventing them from seeing the key to the game.
But now, with Lu Ce laying everything out so clearly, they could deduce the inevitable conclusion on their own.
If there were four players, the first person distributing only needed to consider the interests of the second-to-last person.
Because if the first person was eliminated, it would turn into the three-player scenario from before—where the second-to-last person would get nothing.
So the distribution would be… 99-0-1-0!
And continuing this pattern, now that there were five players…
No matter how difficult it was to accept, no matter how counterintuitive it seemed, by this logic—Lu Ce’s distribution method was completely unbreakable!
He was… right!
But how dare he? How did he dare?!
One small mistake, and the price would be his life!
Yet he still chose to do this, as if the life-or-death stakes didn’t put any pressure on him at all—as if his mental state wasn’t shaken in the slightest!
“So, as I said, I’m the luckiest one here.”
“That being the case… you really do love me, don’t you?”
Lu Ce spoke to the air—the Game Host—mocking them for placing him in the first position.
【……】
“No response? That means you’re agreeing by default?”
【Five minutes are up!】
Click.
The small door in front of Lu Ce opened and shut again, dropping a few relatively ‘friendly’ little creatures. They squeaked aimlessly as they wandered around the space.
“You even found me a few little companions? You really do love me.”
Lu Ce continued his trash talk, even deliberately attracting the bugs toward himself.
He wasn’t in a hurry to push the other players. He let them take their time digesting everything, while he casually thought about whether there were any loopholes left to exploit.
While he relaxed, the other players were anything but calm. They exchanged suspicious glances, desperately searching for a way to break the deadlock.
Especially Player 2. She was the most unwilling to accept this outcome! She was still trying to find a way to turn things around.
“Everyone, this is just the worst-case scenario. This is the game’s conspiracy.”
“As long as we stand together—”
But she couldn’t even convince herself anymore. Why would the others believe her?
Wait!
“Player 3, Player 5, I can personally give you…”
Just as she was about to use her own points to bribe Player 3 and Player 5, hoping to gain their trust—
She suddenly remembered.
In the previous round, Lu Ce had already extorted every single one of their points!
Despair filled Player 2’s eyes as she stared at Player 1 in shock, looking up at him as if he were an insurmountable mountain.
Could it be…?
Had he foreseen all of this from the very beginning?!
