Princess, Please Fall in Love with Me-Chapter 65 : Chapter 65

Chapter 65

Chapter 65: Awakening from the Dream, Everything Temporarily
Revolving lanterns—what were those? Was paradise really built on clouds?
It felt so soft, so warm, like lying on a fluffy bed, with an angel holding my hand.
"You’re awake? Welcome to hell—just kidding, you’re still alive."
"Holy crap, you freak!"
Startled by the sudden figure, Loka instinctively slapped it.
With a crisp sound, she confirmed it wasn’t an illusion.
This wasn’t paradise, just the familiar room of the Princes.
Looking at National Teacher Kavita with a red mark on his face, Loka froze, then pointed coldly at the door, ordering him out.
He walked out, utterly baffled.
I just walked in, and I got slapped and kicked out for no reason?
I literally just opened the door.
"Miss Loka, you’re awake? Is your body okay?"
Hearing Loka’s voice, Lina rushed into the room excitedly, cradling Loka’s face with concern as she checked her over.
Three nights ago, when a blood-soaked Loka was carried in by Yiwen, Lina nearly fainted from shock.
Loka, unconscious on the bed, worried even the hastily summoned healer.
Fortunately, National Teacher Kavita somehow arrived at the palace, and together they properly treated Loka’s wounds.
Though the wounds were bandaged perfectly, seeing Loka still unconscious, Yiwen ignored even Lina’s advice, sitting blankly by her side, staring quietly at her sleeping face.
"Little Princess Yiwen stayed by your side the whole time. Whenever I brought food or water, she’d only eat a little before leaning back against you. Last night, she passed out from exhaustion, so I carried her to bed."
Loka glanced at Yiwen, still groggy in sleep, with faint dark circles under her eyes, glimmering with tears.
Helplessly, she reached to touch her face.
But before she could, Yiwen tightly grabbed Loka’s hand.
Mumbling in her sleep with a serious expression, she held on.
"One last time, you’re still young. Kids should obediently drink juice."
"But this Princess is an adult, so I can drink wine."
Why did that sound so familiar? Whatever, let it be.
Loka smiled, poking Yiwen’s soft cheeks.
Compared to their first meeting’s frail look, Yiwen’s face had gained some flesh, feeling even better to pinch.
Loka obediently slipped back under the covers.
Seeing this, Lina smiled and left to prepare lunch for them.
After a while, Yiwen felt the warmth in her hand and reached out, touching something soft.
Mmm... last night, I saw Loka move, but I fell asleep too.
"You’re awake? Want to sleep more?"
It wasn’t an illusion—that girl was really awake.
Seeing Yiwen wake, Loka started to get up for breakfast, but Yiwen hugged her waist, leaning against her back without a word, her flushed face unwilling to let go.
Ugh... what could she do with her?
Looks like it’s time for afternoon tea.
Loka turned, smiling, and opened her arms.
Yiwen, blushing, turned away, then awkwardly stretched out her hands.
The two girls embraced, this time undisturbed by nightmares.
"Mr. Kavita, maybe we should wait for the ladies to get up before eating? I can reheat the food."
"No need. They’ll probably go straight to afternoon tea. With such fine cooking, how could I let it go to waste? Say, Miss Maid, want to try some?"
Seeing the room grow quiet, Kavita, originally there to check on Loka’s condition, lounged at the dining table like a guest, watching the clock tick.
Surely, things were starting on the other side.
"You’re saying this token is now invalid?"
In a lavish reception room, the Duke stared coldly at the calmly smiling woman, his eyes glinting with menace, but she maintained an elegant posture, seemingly unfazed.
"You know, after Father returned from the palace, he suddenly fell gravely ill and hasn’t been able to move normally. Thus, he had to delegate family authority to us siblings for now."
Meeting with the Duke was Kamata, the youngest daughter of the Oak Family Head Sorensen and mother of the Fourth and Fifth Princes, an Oak Family proxy with a legendary reputation like her father.
From joining family decisions and trade through noble marriages, she gradually developed and innovated the family’s trade methods.
After discovering her ex-husband’s betrayal, she decisively ended the marriage, raising her two young sons alone.
"As I said, Father is old, and his decisions may have errors. For the family’s interests and everyone’s, as the proxy, I only recognize promises made in person."
The Duke nearly crushed the glass in his hand.
He hadn’t expected that old fox to anticipate this, delegating power to his children to play word games with him? Well done, Oak Family!
"If that’s the case, it seems we have no need to continue this talk, Miss Kamata. But I hope in the days to come, you can still smile."
"Of course, we’re happy every day. Wishing you a wonderful day as well."
Facing the Duke’s provocative threat, Kamata maintained her professional merchant’s smile, having her men courteously escort the displeased Duke out.
"Gelabi, Labu, you saw the negotiation just now. What did you learn?"
Two figures emerged from the reception room’s partition.
The twin princes sat solemnly beside their mother, ing earnestly.
It wasn’t their first time at such a business meeting.
"The other party was too confident in their understanding, so new leverage disrupted their composure, leading to less rational decisions under stress."
"And as Labi said, the other seemed ready to use underhanded means to achieve their goal, but Mother showed no panic, making them suspect we had something up our sleeve, so they didn’t act."
Kamata nodded approvingly but focused on the “invalid” token the Duke had angrily left on the table.
How had he pinpointed her, the least prominent yet most powerful among the siblings?
Someone must have leaked the secret.
It seemed those people were growing restless, tired of their positions.
"Next time you secretly visit your grandfather, ask him to teach you what it means that those who help you aren’t always friends, and friends don’t always help you."
