Rebirth Swapped Bride: Married to a Ruthless Cursed billionaire Book2-Chapter 132: Ryan and Nathalie are siblings

Chapter 132

Chapter 132: Ryan and Nathalie are siblings
The company only granted leave right before New Year’s Eve.
Preparing for the annual gala had kept Beauty awake for several nights straight.
Every day at work, she could barely keep her eyes open, utterly exhausted.
"Beauty, how’s the guest list for the gala coming along?"
Lena drifted in like a ghost, whispered the question into her ear, and floated away before she could even respond.
Her workload was already overwhelming, and now she had to handle the gala guests too.
She couldn’t help but let out a long sigh.
Multinational corporations really were something else—hosting their annual galas overseas, as if money grew on trees!
"Beauty, have all the gala invitations been sent out?"
Lena, teetering on ten-centimeter heels, materialized out of nowhere again.
Beauty was buried in work, head down, but immediately looked up at the sound of her voice.
"All the invitations have been sent, and the guest list has been double-checked multiple times.
Don’t worry, Manager!"
"Do you think I enjoy nagging you every day?
This is a major event for Marson Corporation—we can’t afford any slip-ups.
But I trust you’ll handle it.
Later, some foreign guests are arriving—go greet them for me.
I’ve got something big to deal with."
At this point, Lena treated her like some kind of miracle worker, dumping every task imaginable on her.
She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Meanwhile, Nathalie had been visiting Marson Corporation frequently lately, since their two companies were co-hosting the gala.
Just as Beauty finished her work and was about to head to the HR manager’s office, she spotted Nathalie in a pristine white dress at the door.
The two exchanged smiles.
"Beauty, um... is President Marson in?"
Ever since learning about Beauty’s connection with Lucas, Nathalie had become unusually warm toward her, always calling her sweetly with exaggerated familiarity.
"President Lucas isn’t in the office right now.
He probably won’t be back for another half hour.
Is there something you need from him?"
No matter how warmly Nathalie treated her, she always maintained an air of cool detachment.
Her smile was the epitome of professionalism, polished, polite, and never reaching her eyes.
Nathalie tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, her lips curving into an irrepressible smile as she arched a brow.
"Oh, it’s nothing urgent.
I promised to treat him to dinner a while ago, but work kept getting in the way, so it got pushed to today.
President Marson must be swamped too, right?
He hasn’t replied to my messages, so I thought I’d just drop by the office."
At the mention of Lucas, her expression softened, her fingers unconsciously intertwining.
She looked every bit like a woman hopelessly in love.
Beauty had no interest in prolonging the conversation.
She gave the files in her hand a light shake.
"I have work to attend to.
If you’d like to wait for him, you can do so in the reception area.
The executive office isn’t open to visitors—my apologies."
Nathalie’s smile faltered, but she managed to lift her glossed lips in response.
"Understood.
I’ll wait in the lounge.
When he returns, could you let him know I’m there?"
Beauty nodded curtly before swiftly walking away.
Lately, work had been so demanding that she barely had time to dwell on petty jealousies.
After delivering the documents to HR, she headed straight to procurement, barely pausing until lunchtime.
Then, her phone buzzed—a message from Lucas himself, inviting her to lunch.
Didn’t he already have plans with someone else?
Or is he expecting me to tag along as the third wheel?
The elevator doors slid open, revealing Lucas standing inside, impeccably dressed in a tailored suit.
They’d both been working overtime, yet while her dark circles threatened to reach her chin, he looked as fresh as if he’d just woken from a full night’s rest.
Life truly isn’t fair—why does he get to have all the good things?
Lucas’s lips curled into a faint, almost imperceptible smirk as he spotted her.
"Did you see the message I just sent you?"
"I did," she replied, keeping her tone light.
"But I already made plans to have lunch with Hannah today.
Besides, Miss Nathalie is waiting for you in the reception lounge."
Of course, she hadn’t actually arranged anything with Hannah—it was just an excuse to save face.
Lucas’s pupils narrowed slightly, his lips quirking in amusement.
"In that case, enjoy your lunch with your friend."
Just then, the elevator chimed, its doors sliding open with a soft *ding*.
Without another glance at her, Lucas strode straight toward the Receptionist area, leaving her trailing behind.
The moment he entered, Nathalie rose gracefully from the sofa, a demure smile playing on her lips.
"President Marson, I did promise to treat you to lunch earlier, but work kept getting in the way.
I hope you’re free today?"
"Sure, let’s go now."
Hand tucked casually in his pocket, Lucas turned and walked out without hesitation.
Nathalie had already reserved a table at a nearby restaurant.
But as soon as they stepped inside, her eyes widened in shock—there, by the window, sat Sarah and Ryan, deep in conversation.
"Brother? President Sarah?" she blurted out.
"What are you two doing here together?"
Hearing her voice, Sarah looked up and froze.
She hadn’t expected Nathalie’s brother to be Ryan—the two siblings looked nothing alike.
"Nathalie, you’re here for dinner too?
Isn’t this President Lucas Marson from Marson Corporation?" Ryan looked up, greeting Nathalie and Lucas with a slight lift of his brows, his lips curving into a graceful smile.
"How about we join them over there?"
Nathalie suggested, glancing at Lucas for approval, her delicate eyebrows arching playfully.
Lucas didn’t refuse, though he exchanged a brief, odd glance with Sarah—both of them felt slightly out of place.
As the waiter served the dishes, Nathalie finally smiled faintly, pressing her lips together.
"I had no idea the girlfriend my brother mentioned was actually President Sarah!
If we hadn’t run into you two here today, I’d still be completely in the dark.
Brother, when are you taking your future wife home to meet Mom and Dad?"
Sarah nearly choked on her water.
She had simply agreed to meet Ryan for dinner—never expecting to bump into Nathalie and Lucas.
Had she known, she would’ve never come.
Ryan, however, remained perfectly composed.
He raised an eyebrow, casting a calm glance at Sarah before smiling.
"Don’t go spreading rumors at home, sister.
Sarah and I aren’t ready to face the elders yet.
Let us enjoy our relationship freely for a while."
Sarah took a bite of cake and nearly choked again.
She hadn’t expected Ryan to openly refer to her as his girlfriend in front of his family—it was completely unexpected.
Then, abruptly, Ryan turned his gaze toward Lucas, scrutinizing him with a probing look.
His tone was light but deliberate as he asked, "And you—what’s the occasion for dining with President Marson?
Don’t tell me you two are dating now."
The remark instantly flushed Nathalie’s cheeks.
She frowned in embarrassment, her voice tinged with protest.
"Brother! What nonsense! I’m just treating President Marson to dinner as thanks for his mentorship—what’s wrong with that?"
Though she tried to explain, the smile on her face was unmistakable.
