Reborn After Betrayal: The Frail True Princess Decides to Give Up-Chapter 21 : Everyone Stay Away, The Further the Better

Chapter 21

"What?!"
Sophia suspected she had misheard, asking in disbelief.
In her imagination, even if Celitia wasn't overwhelmed with gratitude, she should at least feel respectful and fearful of her magnanimity.
Unexpectedly, Celitia's reaction was like this, as if Sophia herself had insisted on shamelessly getting close to her.
"I've already repeated it several times, haven't I?"
Celitia spoke flatly, cold to the point of unkindness. "Please, don't touch me."
After two or three interactions, Celitia had basically figured out how to provoke this princess.
"Whether I'm awake or passed out... that has nothing to do with Your Highness. Your Highness just needs to leave me alone."
Sophia pointed at her own nose, her voice trembling with anger:
"I-I-I was meddling in your business?!"
"Exactly."
Celitia laughed lightly, her tone full of heavy sarcasm.
"Those fools who love to meddle in everything will someday bring trouble upon themselves."
What Celitia was actually mocking was the former Sercis, who saw herself as the protagonist and wanted to get involved in everything.
But Sophia didn't know what she was actually talking about, feeling only that Celitia seemed to be mocking her with every word, calling her a big fool.
Sophia scrambled off the bed in one movement.
The thick cotton blanket was thrown heavily onto Celitia, hitting her with enough force to make her body sway slightly.
Was that too forceful? Her body is in such poor condition...
This concerned thought flashed instinctively through her mind, only to be immediately covered by Sophia's raging fury.
Why should she care about her?
Didn't she say that whether she was awake or unconscious, it had nothing to do with her!
"I am indeed a fool! To meddle in the affairs of someone like you, I deserve to have my kindness repaid with ingratitude!!"
Sophia jumped off the bed, standing behind Celitia across the hospital bed, her chest heaving with anger.
At this moment, Sophia truly had the impulse to arrest Celitia and throw her in prison on charges of disrespect.
But the last bit of rationality held her back.
"Last night, let's just say this young lady's mind was caught in a door, picking up a heartless white-eyed wolf only to get bitten in return!"
Sophia casually grabbed the outer garment placed at the bedside, quickly put it on, and strode toward the door.
"Do whatever you want! This young lady has matters to attend to, I'm leaving first!"
Reaching the door, Sophia abruptly turned back, her sky-blue eyes rolling with raging fire.
"Of course, don't think this matter is over. If you fall into my hands again, this young lady will definitely make you pay!"
With that, Sophia walked out of the ward, slamming the door forcefully.
The wooden door banged against the frame, producing a loud noise.
Celitia sat alone by the bed, quietly listening to those angry footsteps gradually receding.
After a while, she lowered her head and slowly let out a long sigh.
Leave, leave, stay far away, don't come near me.
Celitia had long been tired and had neither the mood nor the ability to maintain those relationships around her.
Just let her be alone like this.
Celitia stood up, her feet touching the cold floor. The bone-chilling coldness came from the soles of her feet, making her shiver.
The warmth that had just accumulated throughout her body dissipated without a trace at this moment.
Walking step by step to the other side, putting on her shoes, Celitia glanced at the bedside but didn't find her outer clothes.
Never mind...
A little cold wouldn't kill her.
Opening the door that Sophia had nearly damaged with her slam, Celitia came into the hallway and saw Sister Mahee hurriedly approaching.
"What happened?" Mahee asked with concern. "Princess Sophia just ran out very angrily..."
Celitia slightly lowered her head: "Mm, I angered the princess again."
"You're roommates with the princess, aren't you?" Mahee looked at her with increasing worry. "Then you need to find a way to get along well."
"I know, I'll be more careful in the future."
Celitia smiled very faintly, brushing off Mahee's words.
"Are you Sister Mahee? Thank you for your care last night."
"No need for thanks," Mahee shook her head. "Besides, it was actually the princess who stayed by your side all night. She deserves your gratitude more than I do."
Celitia's crystal-clear eyes moved slightly, unexpectedly recalling the warmth that had tightly surrounded her last night, allowing her a rare escape from nightmares.
But precisely because of this...
She didn't want her to come close.
"I've troubled you last night, but I should be going now."
Not continuing the previous topic, Celitia curtsied to Mahee and turned to leave.
"Wait!"
Mahee quickly called out to her, rushed into the nearby duty room, and returned with a white outer robe, placing the not-too-thick garment around Celitia's shoulders.
"It's a bit cold outside. Wear this, and don't catch another chill."
Mahee said with a slight tease, "I hope the next time I see you, you'll be returning my clothes, not being carried into the hospital again."
Hearing Mahee's last sentence, Celitia's face awkwardly flushed with a faint blush.
She vaguely remembered being carried in Sophia's arms in a princess hold while unconscious.
She never thought she would receive such treatment in this life...
Hopefully, it would never happen again.
"I'll be careful. Thank you for your concern."
Under Mahee's warm gaze, Celitia hurriedly slipped away from the hospital.
The hour was still early, and in the academy, apart from the early-rising servants sweeping the grounds, there were hardly any people.
Celitia actually didn't know which direction the dormitory was in and was just thinking about asking someone when she suddenly saw a familiar figure running toward her.
"Lily! Lily!"
Shanie waved her hand while sprinting at a hundred-meter dash speed.
Even after stopping beside Celitia, Shanie was barely out of breath, making Celitia envy her physical fitness.
If it were her now, she probably wouldn't make it halfway before her body gave out.
"Is-isn't that a nun's robe?" Shanie's voice uncontrollably grew louder. "Lily, did you really go to the hospital?"
Shanie's voice was full of concern, but there was also a hint of... suspicious excitement?
"What do you mean by 'really'?" Celitia couldn't help but ask with confusion.
Shanie looked Celitia up and down, confirmed her normal state, and then mysteriously put her arm around Celitia's shoulders, leaning close to her ear.
"I've heard all about it! Yesterday, you and Princess Sophia..."
Shanie made a heart shape with her two thumbs, then cupped her reddening cheeks with her hands, embarrassedly nudging Celitia with her elbow.
"Oh my! Since your body isn't well, you shouldn't have been so intense. How could you end up in the hospital..."
"Wh...what?!"
Celitia was completely puzzled at first, but as she gradually began to understand, even someone as typically composed as her couldn't help but show a thunderstruck expression on her face.
