This question lingered in her heart, and Sophia couldn't bring herself to ask it even by the time they reached their new residence.
Aside from how embarrassing it would be to ask such a question, Sophia understood that even if she did ask Celitia, she would either get no answer or be brushed off.
Their relationship hadn't reached that level yet.
Thinking about this, Sophia inevitably felt a bit dejected, but she quickly cheered up.
After all, this was just the beginning. There would be plenty of opportunities to deepen their understanding of each other in the future.
While Sophia's mood fluctuated, Celitia's attention was fully focused on the building before them.
It was an independent small building with a garden, three stories high. Its exterior appeared as modest as other academy buildings, but its detailed design revealed careful consideration throughout.
"This is definitely not a temporary residence, but one specially prepared," Celitia muttered.
Above the door, Celitia even saw the family crest of Sophia's family, the "Clarens."
Could this be a villa specially prepared for the Princess, yet Sophia insisted on staying in the student dormitory instead?
What a strange hobby...
Then again, in the rigidly hierarchical Kingdom of Lansca, insisting on having nobles and commoners study together was also a strange hobby, forcing those nobles to accept it grudgingly.
This comment actually roused Sophia from her daydreaming, and she couldn't help asking: "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Celitia replied. "Let's go in first."
Sophia used the key Colton had given her to open the door, and the two walked in one after another.
As Sophia had said, everything in the house was already prepared, with almost all the necessities in place.
The two curiously explored upstairs and downstairs. Sophia turned to ask Celitia: "How do you like it here?"
"Not bad," Celitia said in a moderate tone. "It feels very peaceful."
If nothing else, the absence of many gossipy female students made Celitia extremely happy.
Discovering that Celitia seemed to quite like this standalone small building, Sophia's heart immediately eased.
"However, Your Highness," Celitia suddenly changed her tone, "there's only one bedroom here."
"What? How is that possible?" Sophia's eyes widened in surprise.
Celitia pushed open two adjacent doors, gestured to Sophia, indicating that she should look inside carefully.
On the second floor, apart from the bathroom, there were two rooms. However, it was obvious that only one had been carefully furnished, while the other was filled with miscellaneous items and didn't even have a bed.
Sophia checked around again in disbelief—the first floor consisted of a living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom, while the third floor had a study, a coffee room, and a small balcony. There really wasn't a third room that could serve as a bedroom.
"Damn that Colton. He said it was all prepared, but this is what he meant by 'prepared'?"
Having invited someone over but having nowhere for them to stay, Sophia's face turned red with embarrassment.
Celitia didn't mind at all. After all, she could tell that this small building was probably specially prepared for Sophia, so having only one bedroom wasn't strange.
"Then I'll sleep on the couch for now. The downstairs couch is large enough."
Celitia yawned long and turned to go downstairs.
"No!" Sophia quickly grabbed Celitia's arm. "I can't let you sleep on the couch!"
Sophia had invited Celitia, and now she would have to make her sleep on the couch? Sophia's etiquette education absolutely forbade her from doing such a thing.
"I'll find someone to dismantle a bed from the dormitory and send it over temporarily. We'll make do for one night, and tomorrow I'll arrange for the necessary furniture to be delivered."
"Find someone?" Celitia felt a headache coming on at the mention of bringing in others. "It's already late. Where would you find someone now?"
"The academy guards, or other students. Someone should be able to help."
As she said this, Sophia's voice gradually grew quieter, becoming less confident.
From Celitia's gaze, she could clearly see that Celitia really didn't want this to become public knowledge.
Sure enough, Celitia pulled her arm away and turned decisively: "No need. Otherwise, I might as well find Shanie and make do for one night."
Hearing Shanie's name, Sophia raised her voice in protest: "That's even worse!"
"Then it's settled. I'll sleep on the couch, make do for one night, and we'll deal with the rest tomorrow."
Celitia returned downstairs, lay down on the large leather couch, casually grabbed a blanket folded nearby, wrapped herself into a fluffy cocoon, and with her eyes half-open, half-closed, was about to fall asleep.
"Wait, Celitia!"
Sophia hurriedly followed her down, bending over to shake Celitia's shoulder.
"How about this: you go sleep in the bedroom, and I'll sleep on the couch."
Celitia didn't even open her eyes: "No."
"Get up now!" Sophia persisted. "As the host, I absolutely cannot let a guest sleep on the couch!"
Celitia said: "As a subject, I also cannot let the Princess sleep on the couch, so it's non-negotiable."
"This is an order!" Sophia said firmly.
Celitia paused, opening her eyes in surprise, staring at Sophia for a moment, but still remained unyielding: "I refuse."
"You—"
Not expecting her to be so stubborn, Sophia resorted to action.
A beam of white light shot from her fingertips. Just like when she restrained Celitia in the corridor, Sophia once again used a binding spell to tie Celitia up securely.
"Hey! Let me go!!"
Celitia couldn't move at all and could only watch helplessly as Sophia picked her up, carried her upstairs, and threw her onto the bed covered with a pink, lace-trimmed velvet quilt in the bedroom.
"You dare disobey an order? Should I keep you tied up all night?"
As she threatened Celitia fiercely, Sophia was about to straighten up when she suddenly felt something hard beside the pillow. Curious, she pulled it out.
Looking down, her eyes instantly widened to their maximum.
It was actually a pair of cold metal handcuffs, not completely closed, with a key inserted on the side, ready to be locked at any time.
Celitia's gaze also fell on the handcuffs, her expression becoming very strange: "I didn't expect Your Highness to have such a hobby."
"No! I don't!!"
As if burned, Sophia quickly threw the metal handcuffs away, her face turning crimson from the base of her neck to the tips of her ears, almost dripping blood.
"What kind of perverted taste is this?! I swear to the Goddess, I really didn't know anything about this!!"
Celitia responded dismissively: "Yes, yes, yes. The deliberately unfurnished adjacent bedroom and the prepared handcuffs... I understand it all. No need to explain, Princess Sophia."
Cursing Colton ten thousand times in her heart, Sophia anxiously pounced on the bed, half-pressing on Celitia, desperately trying to explain: "Wait! Listen to me!!"
