Chapter 241

Chapter 241: Chapter 126: Lian Yeye Seeks Advice_1
"Yeye, come and sit," Manman said with a smile as she called out to Lian Yeye.
Lian Yeye glanced into the room. Lian Shouxin and his wife had gone next door to the Chunzhu Family’s home for a visit, Xiao Qi and Wu Lang had also gone out to play, and only Lian Zhizhi and Lian Yeye were inside. Lian Yeye walked slowly over to Lian Manman and sat down on the kang.
"Yeye, is something the matter?" Seeing Lian Yeye sitting there with a sullen face, as if he had something to say, Lian Manman asked.
"Sister Manman, can you help me think of a plan, a way out?" Lian Yeye thought for a while, finally gathered his courage, and said to Lian Manman.
"What kind of plan?" Lian Manman asked Lian Yeye.
"It’s about that thing, I still want to divide the family." Lian Yeye said, looking earnestly at Lian Manman. "Sister Manman, I’ve racked my brains and can’t come up with a solution. I just think, only you can help me."
Lian Manman looked at Lian Yeye’s face full of hope and trust and silently sighed.
"What do your third uncle and his wife say about this?" Lian Manman asked.
Lian Yeye pursed his lips.
"My dad and mom, they’ve been scared badly by our grandma. But I know, deep down, they would also want to if they could have their own household," he said.
"I understand," Lian Manman nodded, "Yeye, don’t take it the wrong way, but I’m going to speak my mind."
"Sister Manman, I know you mean well. Whatever you say, I want to hear it," Lian Yeye hurriedly said.
"You wanting to divide the family, I think it’s fine. If you did have your own household, life would definitely be better. But, as it stands now, it’s probably impossible for you to break away," Lian Manman said, sharing her thoughts candidly after thinking it over.
"Sister Manman, why do you say that too?" Lian Yeye’s eyes began to redden.
"Old Master and our grandma, neither of them want you to break away, can your third uncle and his wife go against them?" Lian Manman asked.
Not to mention Old Master Lian, even Lady Zhou alone is not someone that the third branch could handle.
Lian Yeye wanted Lian Manman to come up with a plan, but Lian Manman didn’t have a good solution either. She also hoped that Lian Yeye’s family could have their own life apart from the Lian Family and enjoy better days. But the objective conditions were clear, neither Old Master Lian nor Lady Zhou would agree. Lady Zhou’s objection was obvious. If Lian Shouli’s family were to leave, among the women of the Lian Family, only Lady He would have bound feet. Lady He was lazy and clumsy with housework, so much of the domestic chores would fall onto Lady Zhou and Lian Xiuxiu.
The reason Old Master Lian objected to Lian Shouli splitting off had been mentioned to her by Lian Shouxin. It was actually out of consideration for Lian Shouli and his family, Old Master Lian’s intention was good, but the reality might be very grim.
Under such circumstances, both Lian Shouli and Lady Zhao were not the kind of people who could make tough choices and act decisively. Relying solely on Lian Yeye alone, they couldn’t make any significant impact. The situation seemed almost unsolvable.
"My dad and mom are both timid and soft-hearted. They’ll definitely not be able to stand against our grandma," Lian Yeye said, "Sister Manman, when will there be an end to days like these?"
Lian Manman heard the despair in Lian Yeye’s voice.
"Yeye, dividing the family has to be done gradually. Look at us, if my mom hadn’t been seriously ill, we couldn’t have broken away," Lian Manman consoled Lian Yeye.
"So, if something happens to our family..."
"Tsk, tsk..." Lian Manman quickly interrupted Lian Yeye, afraid that he might be contemplating something foolish. "Yeye, you can’t talk like that. After all, you’re all well, and that’s what matters. Other things can be hoped for. We’ll find a way, slowly."
Lian Yeye also knew that after Lady Zhou’s fuss, there was little hope for them to divide the family. It was merely her unwillingness that had made her cling to that slim hope and come to Lian Manman. Lian Manman’s words were reasonable, and she could do nothing but put the idea of separating families on hold for the time being.
"Sister Manman, even if we can’t divide the family, I still want to make a scene with Lian Huahua," Lian Yeye said, clenching his fists. "They think they can take me for a fool because I’m honest, plotting to let me take the blame. If I don’t get this sorted out with her, I’ll die of frustration."
"Yeye, how do you plan to make a scene?"
"The Song Family is coming to pick up the bride, right? I’ll make a scene on that day, and make sure Lian Huahua can’t get married," Lian Yeye said, apparently having thought it through.
"Yeye, have you thought about what the outcome will be if you do this?" Lian Manman knew that Lian Yeye was full of resentment, so she couldn’t advise him directly and simply posed the question.
"I’m not afraid of what comes next." Lian Yeye’s eyes gleamed, "She just wants to marry into the Song Family and be the young madam, right? I’ll make her effort go to waste."
