Regression - Second Chance At Life-Chapter 193: Kidnapped

Chapter 193

Chapter 193: Kidnapped
Adam feels a tap on his shoulder and someone calls for him. He turns and sees a big man in a security vest standing across the fence.
Adam is confused. What does this security guard want with him?
"How can I help you?" Adam asks.
Crill and the gang are also curious as to what this security guard wants from Adam.
"Can you please come with me? Someone wants to talk to you," the guard says.
Adam raises his brows. His mind begins working. Why would the security guard working behind the scenes suddenly approach him and ask him to follow him to the back, where the artists hang out?
Adam could only think of one possible reason. Isla Verne. The girl was looking at him every chance she got. And she should have enough pull to order the guard around.
Well, Adam could be completely wrong, but this is his best guess right now, as that’s what makes sense with the information he has access to.
"Who is it?" Adam asks.
"I cannot say their name, but I am sure you won’t regret meeting them," The guard says. Adam tries to read the guard’s face, but he doesn’t get anything.
The guard has a poker face on right now.
Adam wonders if he should go with the security guard or not. He turns his head to look in Lana’s direction because he is here to keep an eye on her, not to potentially meet with the lead vocalist of a band.
Adam frowns as he doesn’t see Lana or her friends. They were just there a few seconds ago. Adam took his eyes off her just for a few seconds, and she was nowhere to be seen.
He looks back at the guard and shakes his head. "Sorry, but no, I have other things to do right now," Adam says and tries to leave.
"Hey, it’s Isla herself who wants to talk to you, don’t you want to meet her?" Seeing that Adam is about to leave, the guard decides to reveal the identity of the person who wants to talk to Adam.
Hearing her name, both Crill and Sherly are surprised. They didn’t expect that Isla herself would send someone to bring a guy to her.
Crill immediately realized that Isla was not looking at him but at Adam, but he quickly got over it. He isn’t a man who lives in delusion.
Sherly, on the other hand, though surprised at the beginning, quickly got over it as well. She could understand why Isla would make such a request, as she, too, became a victim of Adam’s good looks. Luckily for her, she has a very supportive husband who matches her energy when it comes to certain things.
"Not interested," Adam says without looking back and leaves.
The guard is stunned. He didn’t expect a guy would be interested in meeting Isla. Even if Adam were gay, he should still be elated to know that Isla Verne wants to talk to him. But to say that he is completely uninterested? How much ego does one need to have?
If it were the guard in Adam’s position, he would be jumping and dancing around with delight, knowing that a beautiful and famous singer is interested in him.
While the guard watches dumbfounded, Crill and the gang chase after Adam.
"Whoa there, wait for us," Crill says as he starts walking side by side with Adam.
"Are you sure you don’t want to talk to Isla Verne. From the looks of it, she is very interested in you," Crill asks as he, too, is surprised by Adam rejecting a chance to talk to a beautiful and famous girl like her.
"Any other day, I would have, but not right now. I can’t see Lana anywhere," Adam says.
Crill suddenly remembers the friend Adam introduced to him when they got here.
"I remember her. I see, you like this, Lana, don’t you?" Crill asks, teasingly.
"No, but she is good-looking. I only came here because I promised her mother to keep an eye on her, nothing else," Adam says.
Crill seems disappointed hearing Adam’s answer. He thought he could use Lana to tease Adam, but the man seems to have nothing that could be used to embarrass or tease him.
Adam looks around, his sharp eyes trying to find Lana in the moving crowd, but it’s hard, especially in the midst of people with whom pink hair dye is not rare.
So Adam decides to make his way towards the exit, hoping to meet Lana and her friends on his way out.
A few minutes later, Adam and his friends arrive at gate no 3 once again, but Adam doesn’t find Lana anywhere.
"Where is she?" Adam asks himself.
"Maybe she went with her friends," Crill suggests.
"No, she was supposed to come with me once the concert was over," Adam says. He then takes out his phone and gives her a call.
A second later, the phone rings. He doesn’t get a response, but his sharp ear does pick up someone’s phone ringing in the distance.
He turns his head towards the direction and gets a glimpse of someone with pink hair moving through the crowd very fast.
Adam frowns as his call is abruptly cut. He tries to call again, but this time the call doesn’t go through.
"Guys, something is not right," Adam says and heads in the direction he saw the pink-haired girl disappear.
Crill notices the seriousness in Adam’s voice and looks at Zydan. Zydan meets Crill’s eyes and nods his head. He gently grabs Sherly’s arm and tells her to head to their car.
"Be careful," Sherly says as she watches Crill and Zydan follow Adam through the crowd.
With Adam’s strength and speed, it wasn’t hard for him to cut through the crowd.
He gets a glimpse of the pink-haired girl again, but not just her. He also sees the blue-haired girl, Miley.
She, too, is moving very fast through the crowd. As he locks onto those two, his eyes squint as he realizes what’s happening.
The girls are being dragged through the crowd. Adam starts pushing through faster.
He then sees the girls getting pulled out of the crowd and into a corner, disappearing from his sight.
Adam pushes forward. A few people tumble on his way through them, but he doesn’t care.
He finally arrives at the corner and sees that it leads somewhere else. The barrier has been pushed aside to make way for someone. It’s clearly not the work of people who are heading out.
"Hey, what’s going on?" Crill and Zydan finally catch up to Adam as they see him walk through the open barrier, looking into the dark foliage before him.
This park is connected to a forest as it’s at the edge of the city, and the path Adam is looking at heads directly towards the forest area.
Adam has a very bad feeling about it.
’Don’t tell me that idiot would take such a risk,’ Adam wonders. With the conflict that arose between Lana and Drake, he is the foremost suspect in Adam’s eyes.
"I believe Lana and her friends have been kidnapped and led into the forest," Adam says and walks towards the dense bushes.
Crill looks at Zydan; they didn’t have to say anything to come to an agreement. They follow Adam into the forest.
As Adam approaches the dense bushes, he notices lots of broken twigs and crushed grass. Many people just walked right through the bushes.
Adam, with hurried footsteps, follows the trail and comes across a few tire marks. The frown on his face deepens.
Crill and Zydan see this and realize that this situation is far more serious than they thought.
Adam immediately begins running. "If you lose me, just follow the tire marks," Adam shouts as he runs away.
Crill and Zydan are surprised by how much distance Adam made from them in an instant. They also begin running.
Zydan’s not a good runner, but he is fit, while Crill has to match his pace. Before they knew it, Adam’s already disappeared from their sight. Their only option is to do as Adam suggested. Follow the tire tracks, and also the deep footprints that Adam has left behind.
____________________
Adam flies through the forest with incredible speed. Trees zoom past him as if they are moving in the opposite direction. He easily hits the speed of 60 kilometers per hour, which is humanly impossible, but Adam does it with ease because of the strength he has in his legs.
He also manages to easily change direction and weave through the trees with exceptional control.
If this were an open road, Adam might never be able to catch up to the guys who just drove away in their cars, but this is a forest, and they are forced to drive slowly, giving Adam, a freak of nature, a very strong advantage.
Adam didn’t have to run for long. He dug his foot into the ground and stopped as he found the cars parked right outside a cabin. A few men jump out of the car, one of them being Drake.
As Adam suspected. The idiot got his ego hurt enough to do such a stupid thing.
They then open the back doors of the car and force Lana and her four friends out at gunpoint.
’Shit,’ Adam thinks as he sees the guns in their hand.
He didn’t expect things would escalate so much. He also regrets not having his gun with him right now. It’s in his car’s glove box.
If he had it with him, he would have sniped those guns out of their hands with ease and de-escalated the situation, but now that’s not possible.
