Chapter 231: Angry Priscilla
Adam has heard about super religious parents like Candice’s mom who try to force their beliefs on others.
And he is not a fan of such people.
He doesn’t care whether people are religious or not; they have to keep their beliefs to themselves.
He is not going to let Candice’s mother tell him what to do, and there is no way in hell she is going to force him to marry her daughter.
"May I know your name, Mrs Carpenter?" Adam asks politely as his smile continues to stay on his face like a sticker.
Priscilla frowns, hearing Adam ask for her name. But given the matter at hand, she decides to answer.
"My name is Priscilla," She says.
Adam looks at Priscilla with his intense eyes, making Priscilla feel a sense of pressure wash over her.
She can’t help but feel a little intimidated by the young man sitting before her.
After all, it’s not common for her to talk to young, handsome, strong men.
Her husband is nothing like Adam. He is not as tall as Adam. His shoulders are not as wide. His face is not as handsome as Adam’s. And from what she heard, her husband is not gifted as Adam either.
But none of that matters because she met her husband at her temple, then their parents got together and arranged their marriage under the eyes of god, and so Priscilla and her husband entered a holy matrimony.
Since then, she has rarely talked to any men other than the few who go to her temple, and those exchanges are purely professional under professional settings.
The only man she has ever talked to about personal matters is her husband, but now she has been forced to talk to another man because of her daughter’s sins.
But compared to her husband, who is gentle and physically small, Adam is completely different.
His stance, his walk, the way he looks at her with intensity, her husband could never do so.
And that’s why Priscilla is feeling intimidated.
"Priscilla.. May I call you Priscilla? I will do that," Adam says, not even letting Priscilla open her mouth to grant him permission to speak her name.
"Priscilla, look. I am not going to marry your daughter. Candice is my lover, and we will continue to be lovers, and you agreeing to it or not doesn’t really matter," Adam says.
He doesn’t bother beating around the bush to lie to Priscilla. Women like her are suspicious by nature. Even if he lies to her about his intentions with Candice, she will continue having her doubts and will try to always get in the middle.
And Adam doesn’t want to bother with such a headache. Instead, he is going to be straight with this woman and make her realize that she holds no power over him and that he can do whatever he wants with her daughter.
Priscilla is stunned by Adam’s response to her.
"By god, how dare you utter those words. Do you not fear God? Do you want to burn in hell and take my daughter with you as well?" Priscilla says. Adam can hear the anger in her voice. How offended she is by his words.
But in return, Adam just smiles.
"No, and I don’t think I will burn in hell, nor will your daughter for having sex with me," Adam says with a slight smirk on his face, making sure Priscilla knows that he is looking down on her religious views.
Priscilla catches that smug smirk on Adam’s face and gets angrier.
"You think god doesn’t exist, and he doesn’t judge you based on your actions? Then, young man, you are in for a rude awakening," Priscilla says.
"You got me all wrong, Priscilla. I do believe God exists, I just don’t think it is really concerned if two young people have sex for pleasure," Adam says.
"You are wrong! It’s written in the divine scriptures. To have sex outside of marriage is a sin. To have sex without procreation in mind is a sin. To have sex for the sole purpose of pleasure is a sin! You have made my daughter commit multiple sins, and for that, you need to take responsibility," Priscilla says.
"Divine scriptures? Hahahaha," Adam bursts out laughing. "All I hear is just some bullshit rules made up by people a few thousand years back," Adam says.
"Why you! These are the words of God!" Priscilla says.
"Did God itself tell you that?" Adam asks in a mocking tone.
Hearing Adam’s question, Priscilla freezes for a second because she doesn’t have an answer to his question. Of course, God has never said these words to her, but they are written in the divine scripture, hence they are true.
"No, but it’s written in the divine scriptures," Priscilla says, gritting her teeth.
"Oh, so these divine scriptures were written by God itself?" Adam asks again with a mocking tone, which frustrates Priscilla further, as it is true that God itself didn’t write those divine scriptures.
"No, it’s Mother Seraphine’s words, knowledge given to her by God," Priscilla says.
"Then did this Mother Seraphine write the divine scripture herself?" Adam asks with the same mocking tone.
Priscilla grits her teeth in anger because she knows the answer. "No... it was written by one of her followers... But he would never dare to sully the words of Mother Seraphine!" Priscilla says.
"How can you be sure? That the words written in your divine scripture are as exact as what this Mother Seraphine told. Furthermore, how can you be sure that she really spoke to God? Whose confirmed it if she was lying or not?" Adam asks.
Priscilla clenches her jaw as she can’t find answers for Adam’s question because anything she says will go against logical answers.
"She performed miracles witnessed by many," Priscilla says, as she has no other answer.
Adam’s smile grows wider as he knows he is getting closer to breaking Priscilla.
"So she performed miracles some thousand years ago in front of uneducated idiots. I could give fifty dollars to a street magician and take him to a remote tribe to perform magic, and they would start thinking he is a prophet of God as well. It proves nothing," Adam says.
Priscilla feels irritated as she has no more answers for Adam. How can she prove Adam wrong, because his words do hold a great amount of truth?
So with no other options in hand, she can only resort to one thing.
She stands up on her feet angrily, making her big breasts jiggle, and points her finger at the door.
"Get out of my house! You are not welcome here anymore! And you are forbidden from ever seeing my daughter again!" She says furiously.
Adam just sits on the couch with a smile on his face, watching Priscilla burst into anger. He isn’t surprised by her outrage because almost all systemic religions fail to meet modern standards, where most people are educated and know how the world works due to science, while also having access to the internet.
Unlike in old times, people can just look up a few facts and debunk almost all claims spoken in these religious scriptures.
For a religion to survive in the modern world, it needs to evolve and become more spiritual and vague in nature. By doing so, you can let people follow or create their own set of beliefs.
Priscilla’s rigid views and beliefs, which are directly taken from writings of the past, will fail every time because the world has moved on, and it’s very easy for people like Adam to make people like Priscilla very angry.
But Adam also has other objectives in mind. Priscilla is too hot for him not to get his hands on. It would be such a waste for a hot woman like her not to be used by him.
Now that he has managed to make her angry, it means he has successfully planted seeds of doubt in her mind, and even though it might not affect her views or weaken her faith, it’s still a start.
Adam slowly gets to his feet and towers over Priscilla. He looks down at her with his intense gaze, making Priscilla nervous again.
She presses her lips together while her eyes flutter. She feels intimidated by Adam’s presence.
He takes a step closer, closing the distance between her and him.
"What are you doing?" She asks nervously as she takes a step back.
Adam just smiles and takes a step forward. Priscilla feels even more intimidated and takes another step backward, but this time, her legs hit the couch, and her knees buckle as she is about to fall.
But Adam quickly wraps his hand around her waist and pulls her into him, making her huge breasts press into him as he holds her firmly.
Priscilla’s eyes widen with shock as her face is just inches away from Adam’s. She can feel her body touching his; she can feel the warmth coming off his body, which makes her feel something she has never felt before.
She can smell is scent, it’s manly, powerful, and addictive.
She can feel his strong, firm grip around her waist, making her feel things she has never before before. Her heart races while her body reacts in ways it has never before to anyone, not even her husband.
But she finally snaps out of it and tries to push away from Adam, only to find how powerless she is in the grip of this man.
"Let go of me!" she says, clenching her jaw.
Adam smirks.
