Chapter 394: Two Weeks Pass
It had been two weeks since he began dream walking. That was one of the terms for what he was doing. He had been diving into research during his spare time. Which he now had a lot of.
He had time to spare now that he only slept four hours each night. So he could read and research about all of this stuff he had not gotten around to. Like meditation and this other stuff that would let him understand this new dream walking he was doing.
Jace managed to get a check up as well. It was done secretly and aboard the medical ship once the critical patients were out of the way and they had time to spare for him.
This time when he was scanned the medical equipment did not get fried or start to immediately malfunction. Instead they were able to successfully scan him and do the complete check up. The results of which were quite mixed but also expected in a way.
Starting with his organs. They had become insulated and were preventing any electrical scanning device from getting to them. While his skin had become much more durable, it was to the point that they had to bring in a needle that is usually used on mar’talic because of their scaled skin.
Then his blood when put under a microscope it turned out that it had a basic electrical charge that was the equivalent of a weak human battery. Then there was his genetic data, it seemed that there was still a faint bit of genetic data that was recognizable as human unique data. But the rest was different.
Then there were his bones and muscles. His bones were strengthened but were also more durable in theory. His muscles at the moment were not as high as when he was a human. But he still had the same strength when his muscle ratio was still low. Which means he could increase his strength again just like he thought.
The brain scan revealed that there was so much energy running through his head that the scan could not actually complete its scan. While his nervous system was still coated in electricity that was constantly flowing.
After all of that he learned a few things from the doctors. The first was that he would need a few more check ups to make a standard for him and his species. The next thing was that he needed to increase his food and water intake. He was not getting enough nutrients to sustain his new evolved body.
His ears, nose, and eyes had all changed as well. He still had his enhanced senses but he had physically changed to accommodate these changes. A lot of which was recorded by the doctors and handed over to the military to see if they could replicate it.
Now that the check up was done he was just spending time training his body, studying and researching, and then there was the tinkering he was doing. These last two weeks with Gorund had been interesting.
He had been able to finish the hoverbike and test it. The result was phenomenal. He nearly broke the sound barrier on the first long distance speed up test. But after that he was thoroughly warned about testing it.
They then proceeded to make adjustments and additions that would allow it to just fly through space. It was not at the level of an actual space craft. But in a close ship-to-ship battle he could definitely use it to board another ship.
Then there were the weapons and armor upgrades. The thing would be difficult to damage while the weapons. A pair of laser cannons that could disable shielding of a small space craft with a single hit. Some of his best tech was going into making this.
There were also the other things they worked on or tinkered with. Gorund actually made himself a warhammer that doubled as a forgehammer. He was not happy with it since it was printed. It was just a basic steel one but he already roughly figured out the formula for the Chemi-metal and planned to forge it once he secured his own forge.
Allie was still preparing for the academy. According to Peter the security had increased and the academy grounds will be sealed after all the new students arrive. While the High Priestess revealed to him that the Water Ways orphanage was not the only one that had been secretly keeping their children off the records.
They were still cracking down on the criminal organizations. But with the existence of the orius they were having an easier time. But at the same time the underworld was adapting. Just like Jace figured they would.
Mistress White had actually left the station a week ago. She had managed to track down the location of her wife and was going to retrieve her. As well as break up a possible smuggling ring. She had left with a demeanor that told Jace she would probably kill people.
Jordan had gotten better about opening up and communicating. While Cho had begun speaking out loud. Although she was struggling with grammar and still preferred to say Cho instead of ’I’ or ’me’.
There were a few other things he had been working on as well. Several theories and ideas. But the biggest change was some of his interfacing technology. He was able to adapt the holographic interface with hard light projections.
These holographic projections allow him to quickly type up code on the fly. It would also allow him to hack without an additional piece of equipment. His shielding issues were fixed so it would not be able to shatter like glass the next time he was shot.
Cain and Jace had started practicing using the hollows to fight. Sort of like remote control robots. It was entertaining and useful for training their control. Jace was using the practice to be able to use the hollows while he was doing other activities. As a form of super multitasking. He was able to do that before but now he was adding a few more hollows at the same time.
